Multicrew Stations?

Just wondering what the progress on multicrew ship stations is?

A lot of my friends are waiting. I think adding multicrew stations, where multiple people can contribute to one ship, would be the feature that would bring all of my friends in to play.

Is there any information on these?
(I've been out of the loop for a while)

    Multicrew ships are in the game but I dont know how many are actually developed yet.  The Constellation allows 5 people I think.  Sadly playing now means you sign the newest version of the TOS which waves all rights you have, even if they dont ever release the game.

    Linking info from 2014 isn't very helpful when they are asking if there has been an update. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if your ask a dev question was answered with "sorry, not part of the MVP"

    Yup and my second sentence mentioned your ask a dev section. Next time quote the entire reply and not just the part that suits you trying to be condescending.

    Making a ship that can fly with 20 players is the easy part.  Making it so its actually worth doing is a different story entirely.
    Are you onto something or just on something?

    Aren't they also having issues with smaller ships that can land inside the bigger ones not being recognized by the physics grid so both the smaller ship and any crew inside it just start sinking through the floor and can pass through the walls?

    IDK about that but What I was talking about is actually making it worth people's time to participate in big ships.  If you can make more money running around solo then why jump in a ship with 100 other players only to make a fraction of what you could alone?

    Gotcha. They would need to actually put in features that are currently absent in order to answer that question properly

    Nothing new, it's all just pie-in-the-sky at the moment.
    Personally I think that due to time / MVP constraints it'll get implemented in the barest of fashions, ie click one out of two options, a futuristic version of Windows confirmation dialogs.

    Hoping for a lot of mini-games to pass the time with your mates in the multicrew ships.

    Making multicrew ships "relevant" in a MMO setting is the hard part. 

    It's always going to be extremely difficult to balance the power and efficiency of a multicrew ship against a squadron of single-pilot ships.

    In EVE even the most massive capital ships are piloted by only 1 player. That means those ships can be balanced by fulfilling specialised roles. It also means that instead of having 5 players in one hull, 4 of them are free to fly as defensive escorts for the capship, for instance.

    How do you justify the huge amount of work required to implement multicrew ships if those ships are hardly ever going to be used in practice ? I would be much happier if they moved multicrew to some post-launch update.

    Depends a lot if we are talking about PVE or PVP. Curious about how they tackle this one.
