I think it should be $20 and not advertised as a headline for 2017.

    in my personal view

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

given that the current retail price for Skyrim + all DLC on Steam is $65, $60 for an all in one remaster version doesn't sound unreasonable.

If you don't want to pay that much wait for a sale.

Edit: if you want to talk about unrealistic retail prices go look at Sims 3, nearly $400 for the base game + all DLC on Steam.

to be fair there are so many mods for free I would be shocked if you could not get the same remastered effect for free

I think developers need to spend less time exploiting and more time innovating

I own skyrim and all the dlc so um yeah, "free remastered for me".

However, looking at what you get, you get all the DLC and all of it is remastered.

    So "maybe" it's worth it.

New lipstick on an old pig. Its a lovely pig, I own it and have enjoyed it a lot. But it is the same pig. Old pig. Not worth the same money as the once young pig.

No fate but what we make, so make me a ham sandwich please.

except the old pig is basicly the same cost so why would adding lipstick make it cheaper?

    young pig - $95
    old pig - $65
    old pig + lipstick - $60

I mean the game came out in 2011. I understand that it is a free upgrade for PC owners but only to those that own all the DLC content or Legendary Edition.
I think a $40 price tag is more than fair to charge for this package. $60 seems way too steep. I understand they remastered everything even the DLC but they have already sold millions of copies of the game and it is 5 years old.

    Just my two cents.
well i think anyone disagree isnt thinking clearly ... people will pay the 60 $ ... no doubt .. Many, many  will pay the 60$   ..

Now ask yourself , if you were in the position to do that and bank that money would you ... If the answer is No you are foolish or lying ... This is a general statement not directed at anyone in particular ...

Well I don't own all the DLC so yeah, not touching this. A more reasonable deal for current owners would be to get a free remastered upgrade for those part we do own.

I can't imagine what I would need it for.

I have hundreds of mods that make it damn near photorealistic graphically, improve dozens of gameplay options and add hundreds of items to the game.

This is pointless in ways I can't describe.

Given it has the DLC included, its not so bad. Still be nicer if it was cheaper given it is a remaster personally I feel, or have a base game very for cheap with a DLC version costing more, specially to give those with the base game the remaster and help tempt them to get DLC (ideally in a nicer package)

Well I guess its based upon the perspective you have.  If was a potential new player and heard all these great things about this game and decided to pick it up, is it worth the price for all the content you receive?  There are many other considerations to take into account, and I do see the points many have made already.

I can't really decide to be honest..

I dont think It's ok to ask 60$ for a remaster, but I'm kind of pacified by the fact I'll get it free for owning the DLC of the normal game.

That said, i do think skyrim is easily worth 60$ if you've never played before.

I want to say It's fair, but at the same time i dont think it is.. Yep, completely indecisive.

If current owners did not get it for free, I'd be completely against it.

I paid almost that much for the "unremastered" edition. Think it is only right that everyone else pays at least what I did.

I got the DLC etc. on a super cheap sale so I am happy.  Could someone not do the same thing and get the upgrade retroactively?  I would also imagine the timeline for this one going on sale will be much faster - so I would certainly hold out for that.

    This was Bethesda's response:
A full game w all DLC and mod support and updated graphics running on two new consoles. If you don’t want that, don’t buy it”

Short and sweet. It is up to the company to charge whatever they feel it is worth. Imo this is something i would pass on as mentioned above the countless mods to make the game pretty :). I would have loved to see Bethesda remaster morrowind; Meh a man can dream.

They can charge whatever they want.

I think this is really targeted at the new Console versions.   Bumping it up from the old Xbox/PS to the new boxes.

If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.
