Dual Universe is promising a procedurally-generated MMO universe with building of buildings, spacecraft, etc., including spacecraft with multi-player crews.
Something to keep an eye on with fingers crossed, I guess.
I'm still waiting if I buy it. It isn't so much the money as that I've bought too many games that turned out not to be for me (no demo or such available).
I've a very stressful job full of deadlines and milestones and all that, no interest in being stressed in a game (I don't want to fight or suffocate or burn up or such all the time). After watching twitch streams for a few days it seems ok though on planets, most are not too dangerous or hamster-wheel stress inducers. So I could enjoy a nice exploratory sandbox game. But that is my second issue: a giant sandbox where I'm all alone and can't build.
As much as I'm an explorer in MMO's usually (and I play those almost exclusively nowadays, love the chatter and ability to share the experience) ... the point of a sandbox for me is to become creative myself (like Landmark) and share that with people. And I doubt NMS's exploratory component will be satisfying enough to overcome these for me glaring missing features.
Played: Pretty much any fantasy MMO, some did not even make it to release ... Favorites: UO, EQ2, Vanguard, Wurm Online, Salem, ESO, Creativerse Playing: ESO, Creativerse, Guild Wars 2 Anticipating: (sigh) ... maybe Ashes of Creation
This game is pure garbage, refunded that shit after 1 hour of playtime, fucking greedy devs pricing a game in alpha stage at AAA title price, what's even more amazing is how delusional and how much damage control people who wanted this game to be the next big thing are doing, really disgusting. Not even going to comment on all the lies and false advertising, here's the resume(really big resume) http://www.onemanslie.info/the-original-reddit-post/ , people who defend this kinda of shit are the reason the gaming industry has been going on constant decline where all it matters is making a quick buck and put their playerbase on life support with shit updates because nobody really cares once they have a mansion with a private jet on its roof.

This game is really getting beat up on steam. One poster went as far as asking for the bad reviews with less than 0.1 playtime to be removed.

The un-informed should not buy games....you just make that point so obvious.
Your score for polish doesan't reflect my experience. Whilst many people had a tough time with the PC Version I have yet to encounter any issue other than the alt-tab (since fixed). I am running at 4k on a 980ti with all settings on high and everything is awesome.
For me the game is the offspring of a mating between Subnautica and LucasArts The Dig. I can see its many flaws and its lack of depth, but it is an experience I return to again and again. The drama happens in your imagination, like wireframe Elite in 1983. Get out of your ship and see what is over the next hill, or in that deeper part of the sea, or at the bottom of that cave; each days journey can leave you in awe of what this game delivers or euphoric that you located that last fauna or simply made it back to your ship.
The reviewer is right that this game is the herald of what will come next, but for someone prepared to engage with it, without the need to be task oriented, it is a world of infinite adventure. If you can't see beyond the mechanics of the game you should avoid it like the plague.
I've been thinking about this game, but the comments on bugs put me off. With the game as described I'm pretty sure I would give up long before any fixes arrived. I'll wait to see if a properly patched version arrives before I consider buying it.
Meanwhile, this remark on longevity amused me :
"That said, you’ll likely get bored of the repetitive nature of the game before you ever see 1% of those worlds."
With the quoted size of the universe you would be dead of old age long before you managed 1%
I love NMS. I like the desolation of it. My opinion, and just an opinion, is I feel making this into an MMO would destroy that desolation. I would dearly love this to be a co-op type game though. Where you could have 1 or 2 friends play with you, I feel that it would still keep the desolation atmosphere.
This weekend I have been playing empyrion galactic survival, listen to some interviews about Elite Dangerous describing how vital 'exploration' is to the player driven narrative and how much has not yet be found that will spark new story lines, and watched a video of Star Citizen planetary landing.
I dont get NMS
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
76 hours in, 61k ly away from center, finding it difficult to play anymore. I got my moneys worth but only just barely this game could and should be so much more than it is. I like it but I hate it to.

Would love to get your thoughts. Does it get more interesting as you progress closer to the center? I'm only 8 hours in, but I want to know if the next 68 hours are gonna be any different?
I think people should watch this review. Showing the lead developer of NMS speaking on camera and advertising numerous features ALL of them missing from the final product.
It is apparent that the build we consumers paid for is NOT the build shown to the press months before release. It is a botched build.
Why ? I have yet to see someone confront Sean Murray about this.
Maybe a MMORPG columnist can get hold of him and ask this simple question ?
There was some publication, but I can't remember which, saying that they had sent some of the common complaints to Murray via email but had not heard anything back.

and I tried to tell people 1. That the more a game is hyped before you can purchase it the more likely its a rip off and 2. The developers have always been vague and obtuse about features.

This is what I plan to play. Just wait for the update if you want more of a mmo type game.
rule number 1 from an experienced gamer. Do not wait to play later, look and find what you can play now and trust me, there are plenty of options in this area

That's pretty much how I felt about Elite Dangerous especially with the always online and the distributed server tech.
But I was still smart enough to figure out what it was and wasn't about and that it wasn't worth their asking prices. On top of that I don't even feel compelled to troll ED threads constantly, pointing out all the flaws and all the games that are better, unlike some of their fans.
I know your just saying that to be disruptive but I do have to point out that my two points circle around the hype. ED didnt even come within the same solar system of a hype as NMS did. not even remotely close, so that pretty much invalidates everything you just said.
but if you ever wonder why people feel passionate and motovated I can say posts like yours is the reason.

After watching the Youtube video, have to agree, that they lied about what was in the game, is now very clear beyond any reasonable doubt, and using those early videos in any way as a representation of the game that was released, i suspect could be used against them in a case of false advertising. Glad i dodged the bullet on this game, but have to wonder, how many people have asked for refunds of because no matter how many times i see people claiming the game works fine for them, every time i see someone trying to stream it, or youtubers playing it, there is problem after problem after problem, its the only consistency there is in the game, and yet SM is claiming only 1% are reporting problems? well, if you use the previous videos of him making statements of the game and the number of times it was pointed out that what he was saying was utter BS, then i am guessing the whole 1% thing is probably BS too. O.o
And shame on Hello Games for trying to pass off NMS as a $60 game too.
Like Angry Joe or not his points in this video are 100% valid. Ignoring them is just living in ignorance. Such a cool game ruined by false promises and no story, goals or purpose to do in the game. It's just so.....empty! It definitely is good the first few hours and then it goes downhill forever.

About the only hope really is that they continue to work on the game, and that it eventually becomes the game that they promised everyone it would be, and it has all the features they said would have. Just maybe that horse will sing, maybe then it will be worth $60 too.

I can't accuse Sean Murray for lying without some details. It is quite apparent that numerous features where left out, features present in the builds leading to NMS release.
Was it him ?
Or maybe was it Sony's brass ? Okay, we are going to leave this and this and this out in order to sell it later as DLC / new content.
