Does anyone have a link to support anything about this?
Watch the review by Jim Sterling and the subsequent back and forth between the developers and Sterling and you should be able to draw a conclusion. I think Jim also has some information about the steam user comments, or maybe someone posted them on this forum.
Imo, if anyone should be punished legally, it is the devs themselves. They shouldn't be able to act up like this causing many people a lot of stress and pain, threatening and bullying, and then just run and hide behind closing down their company.
Yea I'm not saying either way who is in the wrong at this point. Jim Sterling the guy who made a 10 hour video of himself licking a PS4. LOL I don't think I can handle even trying to see him say anything. But yea the devs did shoot themselves in the foot because they should have known Steam would pull their games once a lawsuit was filed. That shows a lot of immaturity right there.
Whoa, whoa, whoa!!! Ok, I'm going to go ahead and stop you right there. For someone who screams blue bloody murder about how there is a lack of accountability and transparency in gaming, specifically with regards to Star Citizen, I find it astonishingly hilarious how you somehow cut these guys a break when it's been proven that they are essentially creating copy/pasta games using Unity assets. This is where I said previously that I was SO close to being able to say that my son has literally created games more original. The only reason I can't is that he DOES make use of Unity assets. I can also tell you that by using those assets he has been able to create games of similar quality to what Digital Homicide has produced with, literally, zero training outside of some online courses (he's just started high school this year).
So I would encourage you to go and do some research and see for yourself what all the hoopla is about with these games. One thing is for certain, if a company is producing, on average, more than 1 game a month and they are a company of fewer than 10 people, that's going to be a big fat red flag. Honestly, advocating for a developer like this REALLY hurts your credibility, especially when you launch continuous attacks against games like Star Citizen which are building complex games from the ground up.
That is unless what you're interested in seeing more of is copied, re-used game systems that are shot out like the diarrhea of gaming. If that's what you're looking for then keep going, please, I misunderstood your position.
How did you get I'm defending anyone from what I posted?
Hey guys I was in this this thread talking about something I didn't even do basic research on and keep misusing legal terms. Basically I only read the subject. Please post links or any evidence that somebody already posted so I can continue ignorning them and talking out my hind parts.
Keep going...
That sums it up very nicely!
Then please provide 1 link proving that Digital Homicide is wrong. Well if its that fucking easy to do then someone do it already. Otherwise quit being assholes. And for the record I haven't defended shit. Quit putting words in my mouth that I didn't say.
You are sounding increasingly like the guy who has walked into a bar and wants to argue about how the game is going to go. Except everyone in the bar watched the game live and has finished talking about the result and moved on to other topics. The players have gone home, the crowd has left the ground all that is left is the cleaning up.

Google search provides us with nothing. This thread is full of speculation and noone has links of proof. How do you expect any logical person to respond when asking for a link and the only thing he gets is people claiming to be right but providing zero proof? Go ahead with your delusions of how the real world works. I'm not sorry because I'm not about to promote or condemn this guy without any evidence. So you can speak of watching the game all you want but without any proof other then speculation I will not take a side. Sorry if that somehow hurts your feelings.
You are acting more like a person who watched a game then refused to show reruns and got peed off because someone asked for them.

Again, it's not in what you say, but what you do. If you gave a fuck whatsoever you'd spend the 30 seconds it would take to run a google search. Instead you are simply being willfully ignorant assuming that since someone hasn't done your work for you that they must be wrong. Either way, you'd killing your credibility with each and every idiotic response in this thread, so please keep it up. I'll definitely be sure to hot link this the next time I want to disprove any sort of credibility you claim to have on a subject.

I told you where to find some answers but you refused to look at it. What I saw was that the devs conducted themselves in a deplorable, immature, and hurtful manner- to say the least.

Lol, I think maybe I should ask the same question since I just told you above what you're doing. By being willfully ignorant you're inherently defending them. Here's a proper ENGLISH response to the situation where you're not simply being ignorant.
"Wow! Well I haven't seen any of their games before, but if their games are as bad as people say they are then I guess they're getting what they deserve."
Instead your response is, and I'm paraphrasing, "Steam is immature for removing them because nobody here can link me any proof that their games suck, at least not any proof that measures up to my standards."
I hope that provides you some clarity. If not, let me know which language would be preferable for you.
OK for some reason you think all the answers are right there on google. One basic question needs to be answered. Did the 11 people lie on their reviews?
OK for some reason you think all the answers are right there on google. One basic question needs to be answered. Did the 11 people lie on their reviews?
Also nothing on the first 10 pages that answers the question here.
Unless you want to believe this guy...
anyone else care to share their extensive google operations which aparantly I am lacking?
Most of the stuff on this was removed like the steam reviews, you could still find them on reddit a little while back though to see what people had posted. Also these developers themselves made a review of the review and basically did the same things they were trying to sue for. Hell they are lucky the reviewer didn't turn around and sue them. But to be honest I am not going to try and find anything more about this as I followed the crap when it was happening and laughed my butt off every time I saw something new about it. The entire lawsuit was laughable at the most.
Yes you were half right in your first response that you have to have a crime to sue someone. But that isn't always the case either, perception is the problem. A person can perceive a crime when no crime has been committed due to personally attachment or feelings. And in that case a lot of the time the person thinking there was a crime themselves are the ones at fault. That is this entire case in a nutshell.

My personal faves are Withering Kingdom Arcane War and Flurry of Arrows. They are literally identical with the exception that one is of an archer and the other is a wizard, lol. Close runner up, and getting points for creativity is Wyatt Derp and Wyatt Derp 2 where the second version of the game is, literally, the camera being top-down. The rest is identical.
Feel free to browse, though, because hilarity ensues in the rest as well. Honestly, they probably would have been more successful just selling their games as a joke. Even their more recent ones like Paranormal Psychosis are hilariously bugged in so many ways, like you can't even progress because you can't actually kill stuff and walking of a 2 foot ledge kills you, etc.

You need to watch all Jim Sterling's videos about the matter, and also do research related to them.
Suing Steam users was part of the chain of events that more or less begun and developed with those videos, and you can't understand suing Steam users if you can't understand the chain of events and actions that led to that point.
With how easier it is getting to make games and indies that can turn a profit on crap games I expect more of this kind of thing is going to continue to happen. Maybe not as newsworthy and idiotic as DH but who knows. Too many untalented and unprofessional wannabe developers are making games.

Not that bad now we are allowed to refund games on Steam.
I agree Steam should be policing greenlight better.
Thanks for the help with this. Yea makes me wonder why anyone would even purchase games that looked like that better yet cause a fuss over them.
The fuss is not about the games they made, it is about how the devs tried to sue and censor reviewers and the implications of what such action would mean for consumers and the industry if it were successful.
If you had watched the Jim Sterling videos related to this, which are the crux of the matter, you would actually understand what has been going on.

I would have if I didn't see this first. The dude posted a 10h video of himself licking a PS4 with audio.

So you decided to ad hom the messenger and arrived at your conclusion without bothering to research the relevant facts.
Regardless of your opinion of Jim Sterling, Digital Homicide's position was at best ridiculous in this matter.
