If you like cartoon style, sure :P

I hate how they went with the art style.

I hope for the sake of the IP and the remaining players LOTRO and DDO get the love they deserve. They have fantastic communities.
It's a shame that game companies are chasing so hard to get mobile game money. I can't blame them for wanting to earn billions instead of millions. When people ask me why I am such a fan of Kickstarter I point to situations like this.
Yeh, along with my never ending complaints on their animations is the overall art style. When reading the books I always envisioned a dirty, grimy lived in world. Turbine's aesthetic is very ornamental and very "clean" overall. That mixed with the horrendous and amateur animations makes it a hard MMO for me to get immersed in. However, looks aside it still is a great game and I'm glad to see they are still hitting their milestones that they set back in 2007.

In 2004 people needed a PC to access the internet so many people that previous thought gamers were geeks owned one and tried gaming but now most of them use phones and tablets for the net and logically game on them instead.
On the plus side does that probably mean that MMOs will turn in a different direction now.
But this tells me that people who keep saying LOTRO won't be re-licensed next year (2017) are much more likely correct.
If this is the "end" of the story like it is in the books and movies...they have nowhere else to go with the game. They are following the storyline, this is it. This is literally the end, game over, finished.
On top of that, a down sized team, a focus on mobile gaming and many other rumors going around...it looks like this will be the last expansion to LOTRO. I mean, where can they go from here? Mordor is literally the endgame, the very end in LOTR.

It would be nice if they just boosted the XP from the story quests so you only need to complete them to progress through the older parts. Then I think I could handle it.

I lost interest a long time ago but now that I'm bored of Legion I think it's time to return to LOTRO for the first time since Rohan was released. I have a lifetime sub so luckily it wont cost me anything.
I don't think the license is getting renewed so I'd say try it out before it's gone.
this game is on its way out - there's no point. they could have stuff like dealing with harad and scouring the shire after sauron dies. But the license ends in 2017 and they haven't announced anything
I think their original plans went out the window with the need to release a mini expac in mirkwood. Everything after that was small in scope compared with Moria.

Learn from Blizzard's mistakes.
I think mmo developers can actually discover how to keep a steadily cycle of players in an mmo: Never leave beta and actually "finish" mmo development by rolling out progression servers that can be relived nearly at any time, at any stage on different servers.
It is proving to be a successful model on emulators for old mmos yet rarely (if ever) taken full ownership of by the original developer. It's absolutely crazy if you think about it. These developers launch of what is effectively a developing beta version of a future complete game ... and then toss it away once it's actually done!
Hell, even a company such as Blizzard literally wrote over their original game making it unplayable (under their hosting). If you look at it a certain way there's madness involved or at least extreme myopia.
You stay sassy!
