There are no western AAA in the making that we know of (unless Undead lab isn't still working on Class 4 but I doubt that). Wow, GW2, ESO, TOR and FFXIV are all dropping in profit.

Things are not really bad with MMOs right now, there are plenty of them and together they have many players and huge income but it is worrying that only South Korea, China and Japan seems to make AAA games, here we only get small indie and crowdfunded games.

Unless something happen and we get a few new AAA games the players will slowly drop of as the games get older and that isn't good at all.

It isn't time to say that the genre is dying or anything but neither are things as good as a few years back.
Not sure where you got your info but since ESO went to consoles their player base and revenue has gone up.  There are reports WoW was over 10 million subs again, last year swtor stated their subs were up 39% when KOTFE released.  So again where did you get your info?
Please stop repeating this nonsense about WoW having 10 millions subs, Blizz themselves said it was a misquote. And yeah, swtor subs probably went up when they released an expansion, that happens with very MMO. You get a bump when an expansion is released then the numbers fall back down again.
Please stop stalking me it's rather weird.  Listen you don't like facts we get it.  Incase you have reading comprehension problems let me help you out.  I didn't  say WoW was over 10m I said there were reports which said they  were. Yes they came out and clarified but they also never stated what they were
.  They clarified because it's policy to not report anymore.
So you keep repeating information that you know has been misquoted to back up your arguments? That is quite dishonest.
Maybe next time you include these reports in your arguments you could put a little note in about them being misquotes, otherwise people might think you're simply misrepresenting the truth to prop up a weak argument.

And to address the stalking thing, we've had one convo on the swtor article, which you've dragged into this thread. The only reason I replied to you in here was because you were misrepresenting the truth AGAIN after I'd already told you it was a misquote. Accusing someone of stalking you just because they're pointing out your dishonesty is very weak.

And no you didnt say MIGHT you said they are useless which they are not.

Its a pretty simple concept to follow.  IF PC gaming is up THEN its fair to say ALL gaming genres are up that use PC gaming.  Unless besides your "micro-universe " you have facts to say otherwise.

increase in PC sales does not mean an increase in MMO players...FULL STOP, no hidden agenda, no other meaning, just that statement FULL FUCKING STOP.
Wait so now you are saying it doesn't mean that even though you have no proof.  Your last post said you said MIGHT NOT but now the more you obviously get worked up over this you are changing your tune.

The only FULL FUCKING STOP is having a conversation with a person who thinks his "micro-universe" is the one and only opinion that matters and demands others change their opinion if it doesn't fit in their alternate  universe.  It's sad a video game very needs to teach you how the real world works maybe someday when to grow up and don't let a conversation about video games get you so worked up you will put this life lesson to use...good luck
    again.

    1. YOU (not me) are the one who is making a claim of a fact. I am making a claim of POSSIBLE...possible does not mean fact.
    2. I am stating that it is possible for PC sales to increase while MMO users fall. I am NOT saying its a fact I am saying its POSSIBLE. I am also not linking that statement into other conclusions or suggestions, just that statement in of itself peroid full stop.

This is the last time I explain this to you.

do not interject other meanings ,remove and add other words to this phrase exactly word for word.

'it is possible for PC sales to increase while MMO users fall.'

anything that falls outside of those words exactly in bold are not in reference here. key word is POSSIBLE

This is the last time I explain this to you, goodbye

MMO(G)s are doing good? I take it you mean "well". Anyway...

From the whole terminology of your post and the linked article, it seems what we are primarily talking about here are MOBA's and First Person Shooters (i.e. massive lobby games).  I don't think anyone here would be surprised to hear that those are doing well. But MMORPGs? Somehow I kind of doubt it.

No you haven't provided any evidence that it doesn't.  You just attempted to use your  "micro-universe" as evidence to your opinion which I disagree with.  Now I never said PC sales were the only reason I stated that and other points plus the CEO lead to the conclusion.  Again you chose to ignore the rest because you got so upset I wouldn't change my post because you didn't agree with it.

Pretty simple why we "vets" say that pc gaming is growing while the mmo market is in decay.  Its simple really, all the big money companies have stopped making pure mmo's and news flash they did it because the post Wow era of we can be the next big thing! is dead.  Reality set in that they weren't going to have lightning strike in the pure mmo market.

What you have now is games all over that have elements of mmo's.  Do I think mmo's are going to die out completely no,  do I think the traditional mmo industry is growing?  nope I think its in decline.  I've been apart of the mmo genre since a game called "The Realm" and the social and virtual world elements are not being made by triple AAA companies in the west and I dont' expect that to change anytime soon.

I got to be honest, if the mmo industry is on the rise and doing well. I think they should slow up. There are tons of mmos out there, but at the same time there are tons of mmos out there. I think the industry should really slow up, take the time to craft some really high mmos. The come to the table and show us what you have. Some people want a mindless grind mmo(need a shower now ugh) and other want top of the line story mmo(I would like some more sir).  But with big business shareholders with their size 10 in the proverbial ass of the mmo industry. That's not likely to happen. So as for me while free to play will offer different itches to scratch, I will always return to the most hated mmo. WOW which seems to always have me returning and saying. Damn the world still looks good and the story is excellent. I can;t say other mmos have left me with that feeling.

You've been the aggressor in this thread before you had a single reader.  You didn't post this to prove a point, you posted it to start an argument.
Wrong when somebody starts to use big bad naughty words they are the aggressor.  When somebody cries and tells you to change your post because they don't agree they are the aggressor.

So I take it this site is a safe place for grown men (I use that term lightly) to hangout and cry how a genre has changed and doesn't cater to them anymore?  This site is called mmorpg and so far there sure are a lot of posters who apparently don't play and nobody in their "micro-universe" plays them so why are you on this site?  Is this where you guys come to feel included?

Im guessing nobody else in your "micro-universe" comes to this site in need of a safe place to cry about mmos like you do either right
