AFAIK the PvP in Bless cannot be avoided at all.  You can even be killed in town.  There are videos online of people being ganked while they are trying to talk to quest givers. That alone will keep me away from it, pretty as it looks. My two-cent opinion is that this will go the same way as Age of Wushu did: hyped to death for its so-called "open-world PvP", but then once people start to experience abuse at the hands of the trolls who haunt these games, they will leave in droves and the game will disappear.

There is a peace potion in the cash shop that temporarily turns off your PVP flag. Originally, it lasted for 10 minutes on a 30 minute cooldown. This is one of the things that's been debated for a western launch (use potion or should we just have a PVP on/off flag that can be set at will). The game is designed to be PVP-heavy after level 30 as all open world areas are PVP-on after that.

The cash shop has always been intended to be optional, not offering any pay-to-win options and thus far, that's how it's worked. I would much prefer an on/off flag to a potion in the shop, but we'll see what happens.

Oh well I guess putting a peace potion on the cash shop is one way to make money off the people who want to avoid PvP. Not too sure how to react to that exactly ,one part is screaming and the other wants to clap.

Woah! A 10 whole minutes? That is crazy value! /sarcasm

Geez, they really need to up that thing by alot! and make it available ingame if they want me to try the game.

Wish that, at least with Bless it doesn't have IP-Block to South America... huge hype, huge interest (like Black Desert Online) just to find out, surprise surprise, can't play it.

Cannot stand flags.   Make PvE only servers or  some zones PvP free if you must, but flags on/off for PvP is silly, immersion breaking and a cop out.

The game looks decent, but I think it's going to be devastated by all the games supposedly coming out next year.

Bless will be dead on arrival in the west. The game flopped so hard in Korea, that it took them one year to finish a rather small update, with three races still missing.

Oh God Aeria games, another game that looks great going to be ruined by "Aeria Games" with Pay 2 Win / Pay 2 Enjoy cash shop things like (Paid Customization Changes)  (No Wardrobe in Game)....

    Am I right?

It will be the opposite. the western players are so hungry for a AAA game that they will flock to it. Mind you, they won't stay like all the other mmo's but the game will have the same reception as Black Desert or, say, Revelation.

The huge world and dungeons are intriguing to me so it's one of the few games on my radar.

I think the game will find a decent audience here in the West. I had to make myself stop playing so I can experience it anew with my Western friends. Very much looking forward to the Western release. Big fan of the game. Best dungeons in an MMO in years.

Could you explain what makes the dungeons good? I've been looking for a decent one for a while now.

    Sure. It is three-fold.
One is the layouts. The dungeons are all unique and they require real navigation to see yourself and your party through them. You can get lost if your not paying attention. Traps and environmental hazards.
Two is the way the mob placement is and the type of mobs. Bless is a more traditional MMO and requires a party complete with a Tank, healer and crowd support. The fact that you need CC seems rare anymore. The Bosses are hard and positioning is important.
Three is the challenge. The dungeons are tough and require everyone to do their part or your party will wipe.

And how much of that will still be true after they localize it for the west? TERA was supposedly challenging at some point, but by the time I played it, the only way to get any meaningful challenge was to solo group content or go after stuff far above your level. People say that's different in the endgame, but if I have to slog through doing stupid stuff for several months to find out if the endgame is any good, I'm not going to.

It's true that Bless (the aesthetics, lore, races etc.) is more suited for european and american players, but how long will it take them to find out that there is nothing left to look forward to once the game is launched? Like I said above, Bless is in desperate need of frequent content updates.

I suppose that depends on the dreaded "end game" and what players find to do.

Well all my interest has died.

    Thanks.
To be fair, i'm sure that won't make it's way to NA/EU. If they are taking this long to port it here. I imagine they are making sure all aspects of the mmo will be westernized. There is always a chance that i'm wrong of course.
Well it would be great, but I doubt they will remove open world pvp heh.
Oh I doubt that as well.  I meant the getting attacked in town for example.  Smaller changes, but for the best in the west :+1:

Personally i'd like to see the standard server and than a PVE with flag on/off pvp in all areas.  This way the game has the best of both worlds for all players.  Also ensures the game will continue long past the initial interest all new mmos usually get.

I would play the standard most likely solo (guild etc.).  And the PVE server with my wife.  She is PVE only so it might not be a go for her and that kinda sucks :-(.

This game's PvP has been heavily advertised from the start, like most Korean games, so it's rather foolish to expect this to be some Western styled pure PvE themepark. They don't make games that way - Korean MMO's don't even have server "types" like we do with PvP, PvE, RP, etc. I'd expect this to be a themepark in the style of Aion - a good mix of standard, quality PvE and PvP content with open world PvP and sieges mixed in.

People will be able to get their PvE fun and avoid most of the PvP, but you'll need to realize that an occasional PvP death is not a big deal and just get over it. You're only robbing yourself of potential fun. But you'll also need to rely on friends and the rest of the community to do so sometimes, asking for help if there's PvP you don't want to deal with. Although with how much PvE players whine that there's not enough group content or community building in many games, I'm assuming connecting with other players and asking for help shouldn't be a big deal.

I'm sorry to say this, but all of you people crying about having to pvp in a pvp focused game, then wanting pve servers, don't you think you're being way too selfish and full of yourselves to want the game changed to suit your needs?

Bless is a pvp focused game, advertised as such and pvp is strongly connected to character progress. You need to pvp to get materials to craft your gears, hell the best gears in the game are a guild craft and to craft them your guild needs to be in control of a region and that my friends isn't accomplished by smacking mobs with your weapon all day.

If you can't deal with pvp, then find something else to play it's that simple. And don't come at me with the "But you're forcing your pvp playstyle on us, it's not fair." crap, because you're trying to do the same here, instead you're whining for the devs to change core features of the game to suit YOUR playstyle.

Mate if anything, you're the one whining :)

The discussion turned pve because people mentioned dungeons are good. Anyway, goodluck with the game! I'm sure it will strive. Look at all the open world pvp games and how well they do.

This one you're not even safe in towns. I'm sure people will love getting pked while talking to quest npcs.

Yep, got really excited by the Dungeons, then  heard PvP in towns?

They need to stay long enough that when they are ready to quit we can say, "Can I have your stuff?"

The world is going to the dogs, which is just how I planned it!

@Bloodaxes Sorry, I don't follow. By telling people how the game works and that it's beyond foolish to demand core changes, I'm whining? I do not mind people pveing all day if that's what they fancy, I mind when they demand core changes to a game that's advertised as pvp heavy from the start and pvp is connected to everything.

I remember this game called Aion, in which you could also kill people in towns while they talk to NPCs and if memory serves right it was popular for a good number of years. You're acting like there aren't town guards to kill the town gankers or other players nearby to help you out. Bless is not the type of game you can play solo without interacting much with other people.

If you were looking for a good example, Aion wasn't it.

All you have basically said is that the game is not casual friendly, its not solo friendly, and its not pve friendly, and heaven help you if you prefer all three of those things.

If they made the towns 'safe' areas then that would probably go a long way to addressing peoples concerns, if they don't however, then good luck because the list of successful games of that type is so short its virtually nonexistent. O.o

No one is demanding anything, they are hoping the reason its taking so long is because they are addressing something. I doubt they are, but hope =/ whining. People mentioned how there is ways to "unflag" yourself from pvp and that it was on the cash shop, so technically they could be doing something. I doubt, but they "could".

@Pry Well, Aion is a good example of what is going to happen in Bless because it's faction vs faction not exactly free for all (I believe). What will happen is, people will have fun playing the game, then they go in the maps that both factions are forced to quest in, and see people of the opposite faction waiting for the free kills.

That is what will happen and that is why it won't work.
