Well...after the last patch is already dead, p2w hits like a truck!

today is day when they killed this game, i never seen such big inflation in just 2 weeks old open beta... thier "way to fight bots and goldsellers" is realy unique xD

Even Perfect World does flying better than this game.

The combat is clunky at times, the animations seem like a cheap version of Blade and Soul's [to the point where some of them are identical, just sped up], the character creator that some of you praise so much is horrible compared to many others, no English voice overs [mentioning B&S again, even in beta it had almost full English voices], everything feels unpolished, it lags out of nowhere and rubberbands you, there's way too much useless crap instead of things people would actually WANT to do, the sound design is THE worst in MMO history and, of course, it's P2W like crazy.

I have no idea where people get that this game gets "better", but you people need to start being more honest and stop sucking up to these companies when they royally screw up.

Sounds just like every other MMO out there, bud.

LOl someone mentions people did not get past 35.That argument is soooo 1990's and in most cases doesn't matter one bit because most games are already 100% predictable in the first 2 minutes.

There is the VERY odd exception, example in FFXI you had to get to level 18 and do a quest to attain your sub class which really opened the game up.But for most games it is follow yellow marker,do quest, rinse and repeat over and over until you feel like some pvp.Sound like intuitive game design, not to me it doesn't,sounds like about 100,000 other games all doing the exact same thing.

Yes i never got to 35 and your point is?Why would i get to even  10 or 20 if in the first 5 minutes i see enough that turns me right off?You see i look to see how a developer put any effort in trying to make my initial login an exciting one.Example when i started Vanguard i saw this big battle happning around me,i was a captive that had to escape,it looked great.Even something as simple as starting me in a large wondrous city is nice.

But when you start me what seems like nowhere in particular and jot down a npc with a yellow marker over it's head,i see NO effort and a lazy cheap design.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Which Is why most every other MMO out there isn't worth playing either.

It is possible to expect better. Heck, we should demand better.

Some of the comments are pure hate of people that haven't even played the game.
Anyways, nowadays some Youtubers IMHO are doing more harm than good to the mmo genre.
Video Tittle "Is it Worth to play XXXX MMO?" wth is this? is it worth?, what people cant download a FREE GAME and try it for themselves?

And then these same people that watch that same video(if its a negative video about a game) they come on forums like these and hate on a game they never played, but because their favourite youtuber hated on said game.

Just Download the freaking game its FREE and try it. IF you do like it maybe keep playing OR maybe don't, IF you don't like it just unistall and move on, you would probably just lose 1hours or 2.

Form your own opinions and don't let others influence your decisions.

We as gamers are killing the mmo scene, and i just hope the day we finnaly kill it never comes and we change before that.

I don't think we should expect any game to give us guarantees, but I never play before launch so that may be a solution for you.

Invalid argument. My free time is both limited and extremely valuable, no point in downloading and trying a game just because its free. (being F2P is a big red flag in the first place)

In order to not waste time I do research first, I know what I like and more importantly what I don't like after long experience with MMORPGs.

I don't have to play a game to tell if I won't like it, I don't even need to watch videos, just reading about the features and others thoughts can tell me pretty much all I need to know.

You learn to discern the wheat from the chaff, whose opinions and tastes are similar to your own, heck I've played games with some of the folks here so I value their thoughts.

I am extremely narrow in what I like, but it's not unreasonable for me to eschew any MMORPG which follows standard modern theme park designs, especially if I see it contains some features I know I will abhor.

So yes, without ever watching an episode I know reality TV is trash, without ever tasting it sushi is vile, without ever driving one a "Smart Car" isn't an intelligent purchase and certainly whether or not a game will appeal to my specific tastes.

But hey, I'm just good like that. B)

Last I heard, this game's cash shop was obscenely P2W.

for me this is the games problem, most people have 'heard' that the cash shop is p2w :)

Firstly the cash shop is open to everyone and no you dont need to spend a penny, as ingame currency can be used to buy other players cash shop money.
There is nothing i have found (other than costumes that have 0 stats on them) in the cash shop that i haven' t been able to get very easy from the vendors, yes you might need rep, but rep is easily gained by just doing a few flying around dailies.
The game does have flaws, but in about 15-20 MMO that i have played in cbt/obt i have not found one that doesn't have a flaw

If someone would like to link me an item they consider P2W - and by that definition something that is gained by cash shop only and not in game then i will concede my point, ,but as of yet i have not come across that and all my items / gear has been gained via ingame currency/work/crafting.

    lvl 58 SM

I don't know. Sounds like some people are having a problem with the cash shop.

Yea, MMOs are huge time sinks.  Many of them in addition to that are completely different at later-game and/or end-game compared to what the gameplay is like at the early-game, but the only way to find out how is to either sink tons of your own time (which, if end-game or later-game turns out to suck, sucks!) or get the word from someone else.

Beta'd this game and it may be the worst game I have ever played. Check it out if you must but It's just a horrible game.

I do not mind time sinks but I cannot tolerate RNG that will decide my gear advancement. I realise that there was an element of RNG even when you camped a dungeon for a drop but that is acceptable because you're fighting and killing and gaining experience and the loot can be a RNG loot . I do not however accept after spending hours and hours getting the money or ingredients for it to fail to a RNG chance that will upgrade my gear.

Of course I would still play such a game if it is PvP since I will not participate in that and if the PvE is sufficient to keep me happy. I would not have tried to upgrade my gear for PvP in BDO however I might have been inclined to purchase it.

I know some people have the favour of the Goddess of Luck but I seem to have been saddled with the Goblin of Misfortune for most of my gaming life so RNG is the absolute worst.

How is this a 'preview'? The title should have big fat SPONSORED in it, as this is obviously written by the publishers PR team and not labeling it as such is just click-bait.

I have to agree, totally seems like a marketing team write up and not at all like Bill's writing style.

All its missing at the bottom is the tag line:

    "THIS IS GONNA BE HUUUUGE!!!"
The original article cited "William Murphy" as the author, and it had sponsored on it. That is what completely threw me for a loop.

Bill, why do you put your name on under "sponsored content"? Do you feel that's perceived as a positive for your reputation as the chief editor? Most the commenters here don't seem to agree. Did you actually write it?
Someone has to post it. As long as it is labeled sponsored, I don't understand the issue.
It cited him as writing it. "Article By: William Murphy"

    Don't bother with this game...

Pay 2 Enjoy / Pay 2 advance faster

1.) Pay for scrolls to boost stats rather than just a subscription to give same boosts for all
2.) No details on housing but assume its not like it should be.
3.) No details on character editing after creation.

But I assume this is all Korean based and this doesn't work here in the U.S

Remember Dransik/Ashen Empires... Remember Ultima Online? Top down isometric mmo's open world pvp with item loss, no fast travel, endless grinding of hundreds of skills. Graphics were sub par but we had a blast!

Now games are really beautiful, packed with micro transactions to skip the game and get to max level with zero effort "Where the game really begins ;) "

I'm sick of these Eastern Ports... I'm sick of Western Publisher's copying Eastern Micro/Macro Transaction systems.

Remember how Everquest Next was going to bring back the 'magic'? Landmark had potential then they scrapped it.

And Star Citizen? The MMO/Single player space game that will revolutionize games if people just buy a few more thousand $50,500 Space ships or just donate money to them in this endless Crowd Source.

Companies used to make fun games on small budgets. Now they have giant budgets and make copy cat games.

Only game even slightly unique to come out in the last few years is ESO... And even that has gone the gambling store route.

MMO genre needs to die, so like a Phoenix a new group of minds can rise from the ashes and make games we want.

True, i also consider that my time is valuable, i would rather not waste it either.
There is the other argument of course, and that is reviews tend to be enlightening, and truth as always is anathema to hype, and making informed decisions is only common sense, and why waste hard drive space on a game unless you know you are going to like playing it?
Just because a game is free means very little these days, though for many, myself included, its a potential red flag that the game is likely to be less than satisfactory.
    Also, smart cars, why do they exist, have to agree they are horrible little things, they remind me of;

Did we hurt your feelings calling a bad game bad? I certainly don't see any hate here, just criticism.  If you don't like criticism you shouldn't be reading forums, that is what they are all about.  You get the good and the bad at the same time.

Advising people to download the game that takes hours to do so when they will most probably delete it soon there after is ridiculous.  Most of the posters are trying to save them from wasting their time.

Some games may not fit your play style, other games have features you don't like.  This game is just flat out bad in all categories.  There is not one iota of worthwhile game play.
