Haven't played the game yet, and will once the bugs seem to be patched, but I am currently in the UK visiting castles and this game seems like one that I would like to play to itch my knight role play.
It is a role-playing game to a fault. Mileage may vary, but I've not experienced anything worse than I experienced in Skyrim or FO4 at release in terms of glitches or bugs (again, mileage may vary, @GameByNight found the bugs here more annoying than what he encountered in those Bethesda titles). There is an excellent RPG game here unlike the troves of high-fantasy ones we all know.
Depending upon your threshold for dealing with odd bugs and glitches, you might enjoy your time now. If you really like to wait until these open world RPGs receive some dev and community love and run buttery smooth, definitely wait a few months. Otherwise, it's a fun and unique enough experience to go ahead and dive in.
I've enjoyed the game thoroughly despite the glaring bugs which seem to become more pronounced as you progress through the story. It's also quite clear that budget/quality are constraints this project struggled with. There are some significant quest-lines that are remarkably well done (Theresa romance) but then simply halt once you've 'completed' it. The lass completely stops talking to you after you basically seal the deal! I love the historical aspect and focus to a deep RPG that isn't in a fantasy setting.
I don't recall seeing any story-driven RPG based purely on medieval history that has been this enjoyable. It's quite challenging to make an RPG With no magic overly exciting!
The most heartbreaking part for me is how I'm now just about to commence the final quest sequence and I'm halted by a game-breaking inifnite load screen bug that many have reported.
I've had to give the game a thumbs-down because I simply can't finish this wonderful tale, regardless of how much I've enjoyed the pock marked journey so-far!
Good review, unfortunately there's the "Bethesda effect" again. Many great reviewers like ACG are guilty of this. I searched MMORPG Fallout 4 review and this is what it says:
"POLISH – 7 | It’s a Bethesda RPG. One of the pitfalls of a huge open world RPG is that there’s no way to keep the bugs and glitches from rearing their heads. I never ran into crashes, but more than one time I’ve seen strange and weird animations and had awkward interactions with NPCs. I doubt time will fix these quirks either."
So Fallout 4 is an unpolished diamond but it gets 8.8 and the bugs are excused with "glitches are impossible to prevent in a huge open world RPG".
KCD is also an unpolished diamond but it gets 7.0. I wish reviewers didn't have double standard like this.

This is why review scores are useless.
It depends on who reviews them and whether they have a consistent scoring methodology. The reviews on this site seem to be more driven by "feeling" than any attempt at objectivity.
That said, I think this review is pretty accurate; I would like to see the same attempt at objectivity from other reviewers here as well. You shouldn't just slap 8 or 9/10 scores on a game because you are a fan of the series (looking at FF15, ME:A, FO4, etc).
Numeric values of a gaming experience will be arbitrary and inconsistent which is why you should read the review instead of just staring blindly at a numeric value appearing at the end of the review.
Iselin: And the next person who says "but it's a business, they need to make money" can just go fuck yourself.
KCD should have slapped some poorly thought out SJW rhetoric throughout the game. Then this review would have been a 9/10.
Bugs? Who cares? You're only pointing out all the bugs because you're some form of ist.
Hmm, this seemed like a fairly objective review to me; I think it just stands out because other games have been massively overrated.
So you're agreeing with me then?
Buggy messes like ME:A and Wolfenstein: Antifa Edition got 9/10 because of their political messages, not their gameplay merits. KCD didn't toe the party line, so mmorpg didn't ignore all of its flaws.

First off: lmao.
Secondly, you're purposefully ignoring the bigger reason folks might go easy on them (love of the franchise) to try and make this about politics. Cheetosquad literally can't do anything without trying to conspiracy theory their way into being a victim.

Wolfenstein is great gameplay and a good game. It sounds like you've got a sensitive spot for Nazis and applied Club Cheeto logic to make it about you being offended.
KCD isn't there yet. It could be an 8 or so once it's polished up. The experience is very inconsistent across systems and that's been noted for a while. They've been patching like crazy so it's very much analogous to a Bethesda release experience. It will only get better with time, if they keep the patching up.

Didn't take any note of Wolfenstein so can't comment on that, but if anything the political drama surrounding ME:A hurt it. I think it was given inflated scores simply because it was a beloved franchise, and maybe there was some money involved in some cases.

Bethesda effect works both ways, some folks naturally hate them.
Now I didnt play FO4 until several years post launch, (my standard practice) but it is one of my favorite games of all time.
If they ever make a Fallout 5 I'll probably have my consciousness transferred into it.

Having good gameplay doesn't mean much when the game was so buggy many people couldn't play it. Steam reviews still bounce between mixed and negative because of all the problems the game has. Even with the bugs it only had about 6 hours of gameplay which is pathetic.
And no, I don't have a sensitive spot for Nazis. I do have a great deal of hatred for Communists who are pretty much the only group in modern history worse than Nazis.

My Fallout 3 looked amazing with mods Ky . Mods really do a lot for a game. They let you do content that is interesting ..those mods that create areas and stories or graphical mods that make a game look amazing. Bug fixes with mods are fantastic and I never play a game until I get the bug fix mod.
Waiting for the third person mod here too for this game.
If anyone expects me to apologize for being anti fascist you're gonna have a looong wait coming. I'm not sure why this even got derailed. Sorry about that. Only Club Cheeto would make a review score about their political bent.
I think the point was that political agenda had nothing to do with the review score. It's a good game that needs to be cooked longer. That's not offensive.
On this site that is true, but a couple of other sites said the game itself was great but they couldn't recommend it because they claimed it was racist and sexist, and also accused the developer of being so.

Carry on, children.
They literally used Antifa slogans.
Carry on, children.
Not even quite sure how its done.
