On behalf of the transexual satanworshipping voodoo contingency, I must ask for a retraction. They say you're making them look bad and they prefer being linked with Marilyn Manson more, since at least he gets laid.

Well, you know, this kind of reminds of an Episode of Firefly. For those that are not familar, one Serinty's crew was a "Companion" (read Escort). However, in that world Companions belong to a guild and can select their clients. And companions are sought after by the well to do. However, If clients mis-behave, the client is blacklisted within the guild.
Anyway, in this one episode, Mel (the captian of Serinity) gets in a sword fight after slapping the Companion's John (the scene is that of a duel of honor). But, Mel wins (inelegantly, but does win) and refuses to take the John's life. The John after losing face told the companion she would never see work again but reminded him that isn't how it works. That is was he, who would be black listed. Then, the John's peer walked up to him, and said "Well, lets hope your charming <sarcastic tone> personality wins over the ladies now..."
Anyway, any man with enough money can certainly have as many attractive woman as he can afford. But, how many rich men could have the same attractive ladies poor?

Sorry guys.
MxO isn't an SOE title. They got it when they got the license for DC Comics for the new MMO they're making
Its an SoE game. It was aquired by SoE, it is now ran, and dev'd by SoE, its an SoE game. Do I need to link the webpage with all this?
They didn't develop it or design it though. It's success or failure is far from their fault. MxO sucked ass before SOE bought it. Saying it's their fault that it still stinks is silly. It's not like they bought it planning to really support it. The first thing they did was throw a server merge at it then drop the GM run events. That should tell you their attitude about it. They got it as part of the licence. They really don't care about it from a company viewpoint. To be honest they probably took a loss when taking it over and are just in the 'just don't let it cost us too much to keep it running' mode. Much like Tanarus, Infantry and their other *small* titles that they maintain. (Which are also pretty good by the way).
So, how is that part different from SWG now? Does them not giving a crap to support it absolve them from any obligation to paying customers? How does the excuse that they didn't really want it make it okay? By the same logic, it's okay for SOE to not support SWG. SWG was originally licensed by Verant Studios. They also originally developed EQ. But, since SOE wanted EQ, and not SWG, it's okay to not really care about SWG because they didn't really want it.
Dude if you're going to come to an intellectual conversation at least come armed. Verant *IS* SOE you moron. Go do a wiki on Verant studios. They were 'spun off' from SOE specifically to develop EQ and brought back in once it released. DUH.
And they were SOE LONG before SWG went into development, much less production.

I have to disagree here.
It is an SoE title, even if not developed originally by SoE (same for EQ then, following this logic). It was in SoE hands to MAKE it a success, to repair it (ROFL, i cant believe i really use the word "repair" in one sentence with SoE).
But you are right, they dont care because it was just the key to the DC lock. But its still a SoE title - even if its is the unloved stepchild, or better: The unloved foundling...
Good point Claude. So EQLive isnt a SoE game either Elnator? Just as stated above, it isnt "following this logic". The origional company that developed EQLive and was Smedleys company sold out to Sony. Same scenario with MxO and DC.
Ya'll really need to do your homework. The original company that developed EverQuest was Sony. They hired Brad McQuaid and then spun the development team off into a separate entitiy as a cost reducing strategy. (How do I know? Because I did my homework and I was in Beta 1 through Beta 4, I watched the name changing game in amusement). 989 Studios changed their name to "Verant Interactive" about mid-way through Beta then when the game released, if you pay attention, it released as a Sony product. Said so right on that spiffy splash screen "SOE" and "Verant" both appeared on the splash for a while while SOE was going through the motions of "re-acquiring" their spinoff company.
EQ was *always* a Sony project and product.
EQOA was never intended to grab a huge market. It was just a fluff program designed to grab a few bucks. Probably cost them about 3 days work to throw that POS together.
SWG is SOE's only "failure" and it's not entirely their fault. It's the only title they don't own *outright* and don't have full creative control over.
You are *looking* for reasons to hate SOE. If you are doing that you WILL find them because you're not willing to accept that some things are beyond their control.
I am right there with you that SWG is a travesty and SOE and LEC should be ashamed of what they've done to the game. But SOE has owned MxO for barely a year and it came to them in a disastrous state. Expecting them to somehow magically fix it is silly. They have bigger projects to deal with. I doubt MxO will ever be a good title because it's just a silly game that sucked in beta, sucked at release and was SO bad that the team that developed it basically GAVE it to SOE as part of the DC license deal. Yet you're willing to roast SOE over the coals for it's problems. That's cool, go ahead, in the end it doesn't really matter.
The games SOE owns are successful. Hell even SWG is technically sucesseful. It had 250k+ users for over 2 years. We've already had that discussion.
Was SWG a collossal screwup, especially the NGE? Yes, it was. The game had SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much potential that it was sick. And that was why most people kept playing because at it's core it was a 'decent' sandbox that had LOADS of potential and everyone kept hoping SOE and LEC would pull it together and get it done. I fault SOE and LEC tremendously for the fiasco that SWG has become.
I do not fault SOE for MxO. MxO was crap before it hit shelves. It was crap after it hit shelves. Expecting it to become something other than crap just because it got thrown at another company is just silly.
