Am I reading this right, December 2018 launch? 6-months after KS? Seems rather ambitious, even for only an isometric MMORPG.
They've clarified their launch schedule in the Kickstarter FAQ:

"December 2018 is the month Alpha 1 is planned to go live. 2019 is therefore expected to be the year of Alpha testing phases, 2020 of Beta testing phases, and 2021 of Full Release."

Hats off to them for being upfront about the game taking 3-4 years to release.

Costs stand below estimates due to SpatialOS- have they shared any internal documents proving this?

    ...

That said: good luck to them.

    That sounds vaguely familiar...

Didn't SBS justify their CoE Kickstarter by claiming all their promises could be delivered due to the magic of SpatialOS ? Using it was supposedly going to save them vast amounts of money and development time. We all know what happened to that idea...

For those that don't know, they said it was too expensive to run SpatialOS :P
... and the way we divide our game server up into dozens of different worker types meant that SpatialOS was particularly expensive for our use-cases. Our philosophy has always been about keeping our hosting fees low so we could pass those savings onto you. With SpatialOS, our hosting fees would have been more expensive, which would have forced us to increase our prices...
Unfortunately, it remains an expensive solution for us. To make sure we were prepared, we began looking for alternative technology that could fill any gaps left behind if we were unable to use SpatialOS for any reason.
    Paragraph's 11 and 12 respectively. https://chroniclesofelyria.com/forum/topic/23401/a-year-of-foundation
In the context of discussion they built on an experimental API that was dropped. They would need to entirely recode that infrastructure. They saw a cheaper way out of their mistake; the mistake of building production code on a non-production ready API. Oops.
CoE was also FAR more ambitious.  It was obvious to anyone with a functioning brain they weren't going to deliver even if you gave them 10 years.

People should back this game, it's looking like it will be one of the best games in the mmorpg world.

This is the first game I've ever backed on KS. It has sort of a Diablo + Minecraft feel that hits the notes for what I'm looking for in a new MMORPG.

So who thinks classless is a good thing ?It's a role playing game, just like in our world,we are not classless,we have jobs,be it a Carpenter or a Police officer or a Doughnut maker. This is our defined role,it does not mean we can't do anything else.

Certain ideals still need to remember ,it's a game and can't properly implement ideas that ruin game play for others, example territory control or any form of pvp.Example, you kill someone, you get arrested and tossed in jail for 20 years, how is that going to work,it isn't.

I love the claim of cosmetic, seems everyone says that now because the law is not going after these businesses for lying, misleading advertising etc etc,so free to lie to no end.

The best part is ,this is just a kickstarter, there is NO GAME,so to make claims of this and that is very premature.
ANY mention of a moba design turns me right off, that is just cheap 101,i have zero use for moba's.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Not a huge mmo player but this game has features that set it apart from the others and make it super appealing to me. For example the player-run towns and knowledge system. I'm happy to support this game!

Full loot PVP centered Sandbox MMO...and another one...boring.
At least the races are nice...
