I jus did all the lil crap in the begginning, i tried to leave the training station, and it says i have to subscribe? WTf kinda trial game was that????????

COV trial you atleast get to actually play.
They can't even impliment the trial right.
Either the trial wasn't designed very well, the trial is representative enough of the entire game that they don't think you need to leave the station, or they don't want you to see the rest of the game before you give them money.
Seems kinda strange to me, in any case.

Ok seriously this is exactly what i did:
Waited 16 hours for the freakin thing to download. Then waited 3 hours for it to update.
:then i was excited:
Got in the game, the gameplay and combat is tight, and it looks good.
:then i was more excited:
Then i played for about 35 minutes, ran aroud a ship, fighting lil bugs, and stuff, flew the ship to another station, came back, tried to leave for the "real game", and it says i have to pay first. LOL
:now im pissed:
what in the hell are they thinking? People already hate them, then there pushing newcomers away with a bullshit trial.. ya cuz im going to pay 15.00$ Because i know so much about the game from that trial that i wana pay for more!.. Lol right.
This is far fetched, and probably wont happen, but does anyone have an account that has time left they dont use, or somthing that i can actually play the "game" becuase im not gona lie, it seems like a badass game. Maybe im wrong, but from what i DID do it was fun. If so leme know.. lol hope someone says they do, id like to see more.
Well, they did that for a reason. The quests only go up to level 30. After that, all those fancy, involving quests end and guess what you have to do to get to 90? You need to be the expansions to get reasonable XP as you level up.
They needed to confine people to a tutorial because they can't have people finding out that the flashy gameplay that they added after gutting the game with the NGE ends in the first mere 30 levels...

Well I have been following your post about wanting to give it a shot and good for you. I played the game pre-CU/CU and gave the NGE a shot I found it not to my liking so my wife and I canceled our 9 accts.
In my search for a game that compaired to the game I had startd and fell in love with back in Nov 04 I have yet to find anything that even comes close.
My question to you is What did you think of the new player space station? the rest of the game is not much different as you are lead by your hand to complete lame quests (IMO questing is what killed the game) The LAG on the planets is horid and the last time I had logged in my old sever ( yes I broke down and re-uped this month) it was a bearen waste land of a very bad UI and sickening movements.
(my re-up lasted all of about 20 min) If you feel that the game play on the space station was enjoyable it might be worth the $15 USD to give the rest of the world a shot. (I know I wont do that again)
I hope that one day all of us vets can find a replacement for what was taken away in the sight of big corporate greed for the all mighty dollar.
What is very sad is that I have spent almost as much money looking for a new home as I would have gave SOE for a years worth of my 9 accounts in the old SWG.

Honestly for an MMO i think the combat is awsome. I think it looks good, and it seems to be a really good game. Maybe after the trial it sucks, i have no clue. But from watching those videos, and stuff it really looks incredible, and i think it sucks that whatever they did to mess it up, they should fix, because that game is badass.
The thing that catches me in this game, is the combat. Not really looking for FPS shooter, but a more action packed mmo, like this.. i relaly enjoy the combat in this game.

Even the Star Wars movies 1-3 were made to look good in the previews. Editing can make a turd look shiny, don't believe the videos...

but yes i know they were from before the patch.
Im not saying they didnt screw over anyone, im just saying, i enjoy the combat style in the game, and those vids look incredible.

Ok SWG had 3 versions of the combat system basically.
The first was what many people wish still existed today. This was called pre combat upgrade because it was before the combat upgrade was put into play.
The second was called the combat upgrade or CU for short.
NGE is the latest version of the combat system, most vets dislike it for different reasons.
So nobody have an actual account they dont play.. or somthing i could try the game out on?
If not its fine, chances are no1 does just wanted to play the game for a week or so, see wut all the fuss is about. But from the trial im def not paying 15 dollars jus to see that it sucks. If it sucks it sucks, but id like to find that out for free lol.
I'll save you a week of your life and tell you, it sucks! Keep your eyes out theres a good chance now it seems one of the old combat systems could be put back in place.
I too am a SWG ex-vet looking for a new home game. And... like many others haven't found it. When SWG first came out I spent the night at my parents house so I could play it because my wife and I had just moved into our house and the internet wasn't hooked up yet. She was pissed and I was extremely stoked.
SWG was great. The CU was ok, not as in depth as the original combat system, but the Village just plain sucked and was stupid. The quests had no meaning and no connection with becoming a jedi what so ever. I can't stand the NGE. The targeting system is horrible, they have placeholder animations for combat and noncombat skills, the controls are unintuitive and clunky and just plain suck. I could choke down the cheesy 80s pictures of the actors from the original trilogy on my character skills screen and all the other dumbing down crap they did, but I can't handle that AND bad controls.
Don't waste money. Don't give SOE a dime. They don't deserve any of our money, repsect, or time.
Well as far as the combat of the NGE goes is makes me sick, the lousy graphics and twitchy movement made my head hurt and stomach churn.
In the old game it was not all about combat and the loot, there were many days (yes days as in my entire 12 -14 hours of being in the game) that I didn’t kill a single thing. There was so much more to do in the game other than just kill shit and loot like almost all the MMO’s on the market are now.
To tell you the truth I really don’t understand how that can be fun and exciting to do that for 12 -14 hours. As I read the forums I hear all the talk of content, quests and combat levels, I remember in the pre-CU (before it was all about being like WoW) that we didn’t have combat levels and no one used the word pwnd or any leet speak for that mater. The content that every one screamed for was put in the game and it is now called the NGE and quests.
The old statement comes to mind “Be careful what you ask for….”
At the onset of the CU I as many others left the game, I left and went to check out WoW it was ok but I got very bored with the only thing to do was stupid quests. I think I got a toon to level 15 or so and canceled the account.
I missed the SWG game and all the friends I had that I still talked with on my vent server so I jumped back on in the CU it was not as much fun but it was still playable, I set my city back up and had a very good time with that even with the new medium Naboo house footprint that screwed the city planning all to hell.
My guild grew in size but was not much more than a few vets and our alts. I think we were about 25 member’s total.
I had got the wookie expansion and I was ripped off as it was not anything like the rest of the game, should have been a sign of what’s to come. It was a quest based expansion only. Oh did I mention I hate questing?
If all you are wanting to do is a combat FPS mmo there are more out there and many more coming that are done a lot better.
If they let you out of the station then you'd be in danger of finding out how crappy the game is. Better to bait all those Star Wars fans with promises of living in the SW universe (old pre-NGE footage) and get you to pay before you find out it's all a big con.
Although some people love the NGE, however most of them have been re-captured, only people like Obraik have eluded capture this long. I believe Wepps has already been sent back to his metal box after his last escape and coldreboot is getting his hourly electro shock therapy. Keep on running Obraik, you can run but you can't hide!

Um DUH yes you do. COV is a REAL trial, gives you full access, along with other games, have you ever used a "trial" no? K then how can you say that?
