I was thinking about how cool it would be to have a MMO based on the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind and decided to look up this old thread and add that to the list.

I tried reading Wizard's First Rule recently, but found it a bit silly. Especially when he suddenly decides to lapse from fantasy writing into Bondage Erotica.
But, I know what you mean. Regardless of what I thought of the writing, the world and setting he created is very clever.

I have no idea what Well of Souls you are referring to, but I know there is a graphical MUD called Well of Souls.
As far as Elder Scrolls Online, I actually thought about this a lot some time ago. It could be done, but it wouldn't be the same game, in even the slightest sense. The skill/level system would have to be completely done away with and started from scratch, for one. People could set their class skills to obscure sets that they would never use. They could max out destruction magic, level minimally for magicka, and go around one-hitting players their same level and higher.
Beyond that there are countless other options, which would have to be removed.
Exteel is a mobile-suit MMORPG being released by NCSoft. I am somewhat interested in that.
The modern MMORPG is simply not worthy, of the acronym RPG. The straight grind and lack of atmosphere leave me with no choice. From this day forth, World of Warcraft, Everquest 2, and all the games like them shall be referred to as PIGCRAP. People In Guilds Constantly Raiding And Power-leveling
A "Land of the Lost" type game. And most of you are probably way too young to remember the TV show!! It was a world of Dinosaurs and the people had to hide in caves from the dinosaurs and be careful and watch for the TRexes!! Having treehouses would be utterly cool too:)

Lost online
You would get to the end of the game and still not know whats going on.
