I only played this game for vendor gear from pvp and pve

unfortunately, Legion and BfA have pretty much removed all vendors and turned all loot into slot machine lootboxes to make it take longer to get gear. RNG kills my progression motivation completely.

PvP no longer has an equal set for all pvp'ers. Raiders and high rated players destroy everyone else now. This is backwards from design iteration of the last 10 years in WoW.

Last time I was massively addicted was MoP. BfA is the FIRST time I'm letting my sub run out within a couple months. The rewards come an an unsatisfying drip instead of a nice flow. Bliz is stretching out their meager content by slowing down all the rewards and increasing grinds.

Just not fun anymore. I play for steady progression in the playstyle I prefer. Right now there are MASSIVE quest and time gates to even participate in expeditions, world bosses (now a WQ instead of a true world boss), world quests, mission tables, warfronts, and tons more.

Just so tedious. The new leadership of WoW is going the opposite direction nowadays.
I do think that, if we had expeditions and Warfronts that were as exciting as what Blizzard is describing is "coming soon(TM)" the grind would be much more palatable.

I still think it's too segmented.  Expeditions should have gear loot, for one.  Not sure why it's been limited to mounts and pets.

Lets be honest, the azerite system can't be saved unless they take the trait garbage out of the armor and just put it into a skill tree thing into the necklace. Just give 1 point per azerite level up and make each trait 0/?? or w/e to salvage this garbage system. Now everyone with a ship is stuck and lose their right to complain about the game, while blizzard continues to 'step up their game' every patch, but that's not really hard to do when they set the bar so low at the start of BfA.....
  • GutlardGutlard Member RarePosts: 1,019
That's true about setting the bar low. I wonder how 'much' they provide at expansions now, when compared to one like WoTLK.

BfA/WoTLK had 10 levels, so the same.

WoTLK added DK's, BfA no new class, but Allied Races being added, so not really same, but they added DH's in Legion.

Crafting, they updated the system to break apart each regions/expac's levels to be independent from one another, but no new crafting right? They did add Scraping, which is like uncrafting I guess.

How much meat do the expacs contain now, compared to years past? Idk enough about them to tell the differences.

They do add free content patches, but I'm not sure how that factors in as well, but it def should. So less at expacs than they used to, but more trickled out over time?

    Gut Out!

    What, me worry?

Someone above said legion 2.0 and that hit the sweet spot for me.   I have already canceled, I have not logged in, in a week.  Just not enough differentiation for me anymore.   Everyone has the same armor, weapons, etc.   The current team is losing it badly, I do not have much hope for them.

Last time I played WoW, I dropped it while leveling in WoD. Every now and then I still miss it and wonder. But reading this, I just don't see the draw.

expansion is "ok" at best , 8.1 is 3 months away and im kinda bored already , the main issue is the classes lots of them have issues or are boring as hell to play , and lack of ways to keep alts geared (GL gearing an alt now w/o help ) , ppl are asking 340+ for Mythics 0 ...my alt is 335 (After 8 warfronts ) so is on the limbo , HCs arent rewarding , raids in LFR are just 3 bosses (and no drops) , warfronts give the same pieces over (shoulders pleaseeee!) , and unable to join mythics 0....ugh

there is content? yes , Wq , m+ , raids , pvp ...is the same thing as legion , more grindy , more trash mobs , more "boring" (blame class design).

the Island explorations sucks , the warfront could have been WAY MORE , so new gameplay modes are sh1t...

the whole azerite system is meh , boring and grindy

missed oportunities everywhere to be fair , and the most buggy expansion ever (wow wise)

What I wanna know is when did the PVP on/off flag come in? Last I knew I was on a PVP server, now we have this crap? The pvp servers were plenty populated, what made them force this crap onto what was working when they already had non-pvp servers for those that don't want the world PVP?

This expansion. That's when it happened.

What's the matter? Are you not able to be the typical bully you want to be because now in enemy areas we have the option of keeping you from attacking us? Poor thing!
  • GutlardGutlard Member RarePosts: 1,019
I actually like having control over PvP with this new system, and think all games with PvE/PvP should do it this way.... And they actually have PvP-specific skills/buffs, but I'm not too sure how valid each choice is as I typically just do what Icy Veins tells me....d'oh

    Gut Out!

If this is "stepping up", where the hell is it coming from?
  • TweFojuTweFoju Member UncommonPosts: 1,236
This is a culture of WoW and Blizzard,

players return for a new expansion and new patch, play for 2 months, then left.

Blizzard just need to release another new content, more quests, more 10 man, etc, and they will get 50% of their loyal customer back in action.

it's like Apple you know, they will slap their die hard fans with almost similar but newer phone, and they will still buy it.

    So What Now?

  • jmalminjmalmin Member UncommonPosts: 44
Its a little to late for me. Broken systems. Bringing legion content into BFA. Never enjoyed the theme of this expansion. 8.1 was not enough for me. I am taking my time to a different game instead of wow. Maybe i will give it another go when a more interesting expansion is launched.
  • BeansnBreadBeansnBread Member EpicPosts: 7,254
I just want to add that... I was hoping warfronts were going to be great. In general, I find the expansion to be fairly sub par. There are just plain less systems and the classes got less interesting. PvP is in pretty bad shape as well. I was hoping that this new version of MMO entertainment was going to be executed at a high level.

Warfronts are not great. They are boring and basic and easy. The "weekly" reward is a nice piece of random gear. That their push is about releasing new warfronts is disappointing to me.

So many people will disagree with what I am going to write, but making the mission/garrison system so basic just feels bad to me. While it doesn't need to be as integral as Warlords necessarily, this one is nearly irrelevant. They might as well have removed it entirely, because this version is terrible. This also proves that no matter which way you choose to go, someone will always bitch.

I know that everyone, around this time, tends to bitch about what the WoW expansions have to offer, but I really think they missed this time. To me, even if it may not be true, it feels like WoW has become simpler, less interesting and less... epic. Thematically, the environments are boring as well. They are aesthetically pleasing, but lack the character that previous expansions have had IMO.

To me at least, it feels like they are putting less resources into the game. I hope that I'm wrong about that, but based on what I've play thus far, and compared to previous offerings, it certainly seems that way.

Not hard to step up the game when it's in such a mess. Uldir is good and the dungeons are decent despite the bugs but then that's WoW's main selling point. The three main things that they've added for this expansion are a complete and utter shambles.

Warfronts: So laughably easy the only people that would find them challenging are already struggling to play due to hands filled with splinters from scraping the barrel. These could've been decent, should have been PvP focused from the start, have some proper epic battle instead of filling it with hp sponge mobs that require zero thought to beat.

Island Expeditions: Another absolute shit feature, go with a tank, pull half the island then AoE down, profit. That is it, oh and it's also the best way to level up the biggest shitter of the expansion.

Heart of Azeroth: Take the Artifact Weapons from Legion, remove all the best parts and leave the boring, passive traits and you get the main feature of this expansion. Add to this that only a few traits are decent and that even if you get an item that's 15 ilvl upgrade but without the required traits it's actually a downgrade. Oh and did I mention they removed set bonuses for this?

All through beta they were told that these features were not in a good place. Of course they didn't listen, their ever faithful alabaster warriors were everywhere (as usual,) calling people trolls and saying everything is fine. Now they've finally come out and admitted that it's a mess and we've just gotta deal with it.

The foundation of the expansion is a mess, there's no way they're going to take out HoA, it's too much of an integral part of BfA so looks like we're stuck with it. At least people whose sub doesn't run out are.

Despite it's many flaws, its the most wow i played since Wotlk and I'm still subbed and login everyday (even if just to do the emissary on most weekdays). I'm about a month more into BFA then I got into cata and 2 weeks more then legion.

Island expeditions and warfronts are fairly dissapointing, the former is just a long series of trashpulls and occasionaly pick up a thing or mine a node. The second feels like it's over before i even did anything but at the same time also manages to feel slow and tedious, it doesn't feel epic in the slightest.

But even if they were touted as big features they are still just side content really.

I like the upgradable neck over a weapon as it's specc neutral and one of the biggest reason i quit so early in legion was seeing all this cool almost class defining abilities that i could unlock only to realize i needed 500k artifact power while getting 50 for a world quest or whatever to unlock them. So the fact that the neck is simpler is better in that sense just something that grows stronger overtime which is nice but not something you feel like absolutely needing.

I do not like the whole azerite armor stuff though. Getting a new higher ilvl piece of armor only to have to downgrade from 3 traits to 1 or even none feels terrible, even if the statboost may overall improve your performance. And the traits themselves are pretty awkward, one without simming your have no idea what traits are good or bad for you, and the balance of them swings so radically week to week its insane, there have been 400% buffs. I feel like the trait system should have just been baked into the neck, you collect azerite gear with traits which are then unlocked in your neck and you can select em like a talent system, and the traits just level up along with your neck or something.

The rest of the game (or really THE game) is basically a slightly better version of legion, dungeons raids quests zones story etc.

Enough with this expansions. Give us Classic now.

Stepping up their game... so far this expansion have been nothing but a disappointment. The major features of the expansions have been horrible. Nerfing of traits you spend sometime to get just makes the whole AZ system pointless. Virtual ticket.... no point to get that. The air is out of the balloon over at blizzard and time for a long long break for blizzard and their games. Maybe I will try wow again when the next expansion comes around.

I have another 6 months until my Sub runs out, and we'll see where I am then. I won't be subbing for 6 months again I don't think. At that point I'll be done with my alts and very tired of the WQ grind.

My friend will keep telling me about the stuff coming in content patches and none of it will be enough to make me come back again until the next expac. Gut Out!

The boat has already sailed. Quit the game after they nerfed the traits i had collected for my character for a 2nd time. Was no point to continue playing anymore when after you get what you needed and then the next day it was made useless. To me this expansion have been nothing but sad and disappointing. Nothing but a new expansion will bring me back to wow again.
  • EbanyEbany Member UncommonPosts: 56
No reason to ever go back. Lost all our items item mail due to an unintended absence, hierlooms seem to be worth nothing, friends have all moved on, and the game seems to continually be on a decline since the Panda expac.

bullshit. wow is as successful BECAUSE it allowed addons.

Too little to late for a lot of people, many have already left the game with all the F'ups that as happened! I'm sure some people will come back when 8.1 hits, but considering Blizz's track record as of late, I can't see anything being any better, the dev's (especially Ion) have no clue what made WoW great to begin with. This info is nothing more than trying to keep people subbed until the 8.1 promise, then it will be some other promise to try and keep people subbed instead of you know, fun stuff to do!

yea, and you are the first who eeeeeever did that.

sorry to burst your bubble dude, but you tourists exist in every addon :)
"i don't like the game, but maybe the changed it so i like it!
*weeks later* damn, this game sucks! and i totaly knew it"

either accept that WoW ain't your kind of game, or keep repeating yourself each addon.
i like WoW, that is why i play it, and i play it most likely alot longer than you ^^

for a bloody reason, and that is not "because all my friends play it", but because i play games i actually like

I remember when literally ev1 was bragging about Blizzard's polish.I have stated many times that Ilevel items are the worst idea i have ever seen in a mmorpg and yes it plagued my fave games first.

Sill linear gameplay, still instances, still people i see asking for more automated dungeon runs,it is ANYTHING but stepping up their game,it is continuing to do things badly and/or worse.
people now everyday wondering if Blizzard will fix a very quickly dying Hearthstone,i answered with what i believe to be the truth.Blizzard is working on their next ad campaigns long before fixing their games.

When you already have big numbers, you just keep rolling along thinking your games are the best, nothing is wrong. To me that is bad management but like i said,as long as the numbers remain high enough to turn large profits, nothing will change.Well except things must NOT be so rosy at Blizzard since they decided to remove bonuses from the salaries,to me that is sending a big message of one that is not good.
