Bethesda has taken a lot of flack from fans over Fallout 76 ever since it was announced, but personally, I’ve been cautiously optimistic about the game. It’s true, I’d much prefer Fallout 76 to be a more narrative driven co-op PvE experience than the multiplayer survival sandbox we’re getting, but let’s be fair, the IP fits the genre like a glove. And best of all? It looks fun!

Stop whine about this not being fallout 5. Its not. This is something new they try. Because frankly the typical gamer today dont even know what fallout is about. The play overwatch and think stories is boring. That being said I still think this game can succeed as its own fallout-game. I will give it a try when it gets released on PC !

I don't know , I was watching streams of the Beta last night and the whole time I'm thinking this would have been way cooler if it wasn't online, got kind of bored watching tbh. But then again that's coming from someone who loved the slo mo Vats cam. That was a big thing for me. I like doing NPC quests and the single player vibe of fallout. Watching just felt like Fallout 4 online minus a bunch of cool shit.

That's what I was thinking as well, just doesn't hold my interest. Then again, 4 doesn't even compare, in my book, to 3 and the entire settlement thingy is a joke. It's unfortunate, but it feels like some of the features of FO4 were just a test for this type of game, just to see if it would work or not.

Well as long as it is "fun" the world of gaming has been saved. ;)

I actually really want this to be a good game. This kind of AAA online RPG is something we need while we wait and see if any AAA Studio ever makes a full-on MMORPG again. I'll gladly take it, if it's good.

I don't know. From watching the beta streams, this looks less like "fun" and more like a cheap product that missed the entirely boring survival game train by 2-3 years.

    Answer:
    Six-year-old game engine.
As many assets as they could repurpose from previous titles.
No need to pay for writers, software engineers or voice actors.
    Buggy survival co-op PvP game.
    Players create their "own" stories.

    Question:
Bethesda wonders how can it produce a "brand new" Fallout game that people will spend $60 to play.

that is something we really don't need another online death match survival, and calling anything bethesta do AAA is kinda forcefull, too many bugs and needs of fixing, to tell the truth I saw indies pop a lot less bugs in they alpha games then bethesta does on they final product, and again with online things, modders can't fix then

All the negativis everyone keeps complaining about are the positives i like a lot about this new FO. Bethesda even said if you are looking for this game to be like the old ones look elsewhere. Old ones were not that great and im excited about this one.

Yeah I watched an IGN stream and it was pretty boring honestly. They should have just made an MMORPG with actual content, somewhat like ESO.

I am still undecided, it will be the first Fallout game I don't prepurchase and get excited to dive into. There are a few games that really get someone excited when it comes to Story driven single player RPGs and Fallout was one of them. I not really sure why they just didnt add the Coop feature and leave it at that.
The bigger question is why the change? I mean has the Fallout series been received negatively and slumped, all of them have always gotten lots of positive feedback and have a strong following of players.

The one and only reason why anyone is at all interested in this game is that it bears the Fallout brand. Otherwise, this would just be one more lackluster entry in a sea of Arks, Rusts, Dark & Lights, and asset flips on Steam.

I have to agree.  IP recoginition has driven the hype behind this title.  I hope it will be fun, as I'd like to jump in with @Kyleran once he and I give it a few weeks to let the dust settle (good idea btw Ky), but I'm honestly completely clueless as to how fun this one will actually turn out to be.

F5 seriously, why? F4 is awfull and F76 looks like one of those "survival" games (Like Conan).
Its just SP game that requires online connection and have forced PvP, no thanks. Also its overpriced.

    NO MMO - NO BUY.

P.S. Its only BR game left to make for Bethesda. >.>

According to an article on Polygon by Ben Kuchera, this is a no wipe beta. So is it released? Taking money, no wipes...

Also, in a fairly respectful article by Charlie Hall (also on Polygon), he thinks they desperately need private servers. It's also implied that the pvp encounter he had frustrated the attacker. Salty pvp players and unsatisfied pve players. Sounds like a recipe for Success Soup.
I do believe they mentioned it's a no wipe beta which sort of sucks, but it's not like I can ever keep up so no worries.

I love Fallout 4, my favorite title of the series actually, but apparently I'm in the minority here on that.

It might as well be.  Devs need to be held accountable for their actions, not their marketing speak.

Sounds like a pre-order headstart to me.

Also, the "no private servers" strikes me as a rookie-to-multiplayer-games move.  These games NEED to allow players to control who they play with at all times.  Many folks enjoy playing survival games alone.

I am excited to play F076. BUT, I would much rather have seen a FO game that was online in more of a co-op only version. I am not into playing any game where people can and will act as jerks towards other players. That is not an enjoyable experience to me. It may be to others but not me. I would much rather share my online time helping others rather then annoying them. So, if FO76 becomes one of those annoying games...I will walk away.

I do have concerns, will games like this be a springboard for a more MMO like game or siphon of those who would play a Fallout MMO? It seems to me this will be Conan Exiles all over again, big IP but little to do at the start. I should say though that little to do at the start is becoming a staple of gaming, we are expected to pay and cross our fingers that it all turns out alright, that is not a good place for gaming to be.

Until 76 comes out though we can but hope it is good and makes the industry realise there is room for a Fallout MMORPG.

I really don't need another open world PvP survival game. I have a backlog of ones I haven't even gotten to yet and even though fans of the Fallout series will buy it, it looks to be just another survival game with a Fallout skin. Enjoy.
