Mob AI in Horizons seems...different. It's pretty early to say for sure how much of this is coincidence, how much of it is scripted, or how much of this is is simply innovative design. But I thought I'd point out a thread on http://www.tazoon.com/ (one of the Horizons fansites) that talks a little bit about it:

I heard allot of talk about Hz's mob AI. But after the game was released nothing.....
I have a post building about: is it better to be PKed by the game, or a player? We'll see how it goes.

My most impressive HZ mob experience?
An archer skellie was getting bombarded by my arrows. It ran and I said to myself "HAHAAHA F'ING SKELLIE! YOU SALL' DOOY UNDA' MOI ARRA!" I followed it all across the Sslanis and finally I had it cornered at a cliff. Then 4 other skellies walked beside the damaged archer skellie. That damaged skellie was healed by 2 clerics and they stood there and observed me for a few moments. I was confused. What were they doing? I then ran away because i knew they would attack. They then marched torwards me with their weapons sheathed really slow. Then they got in a formation and then circled me and finally killing me. That whole process took about 5 minutes. That was a damn long AI script.

If a game showed me even 1/4th the cunning of being PKed by a player I'd probably have a seisure. That would be a fine day.

While true.
But I find this fasicnation, how if the game PK's you it's a great AI and wonderfull fun. But if a player PK's you it's evil, and a game to not be played.

It's a valid point Clever_Glove, but the difference is embedded in what Kiamde said, and the difference is gloating. It's one thing if I challenge a good player or a good AI and I lose, but it's something else when I'm skipping along the path to visit my favorite mining spot and I get some l33| haxx0r d0od come along and gloat over my dead miner's body (old UO battle scars).
The collective maturity level of most PKs leaves a lot to be desired. Honestly, I don't mind the gameplay and concepts as much as I can't stand the culture that PKers usually bring with them. That bleeds heavily into the game, and takes away the honor of the experience of going head to head with a good player.
I wouldn't have to worry about that if the AI was doing the PKing...and, by nature, a computer enemy AI is exactly that: a PK machine. I don't get taunted by a 5yo mentality by machine AI...if the mobs talk at all they tend to roleplay a little. If most PKers would keep their yaps shut or at least be in character I might appreciate it a little more.
