I love MMORPG.
I appreciate the service offered here.
I understand you have to pay your bills - I'm not blaming you.

That said, the proliferation of anime styled games with the big dopey eyes, excessive use of pastel colors, and the ridiculously long legs on pre-teen characters showing their underwear needs to stop. Same for the Victoria Secret models and large chested nitwits in impossible armor - that has more in common with lingerie than actual armor - it is all terrible and I want the developers of these games to suffer in real life.

As an adult that spends money on games it is embarrassing to have my wife walk into the room and see this trash - not subjectively trash, but objective TRASH games being advertised on my monitor.

Maybe we could have two MMORPG sites?
One for the 13 year-old boy confused about his first boner and then maybe a site for adults?

I don't expect anything to change, but this shit is genuinely stupid.

You have no appreciation for anime. That is fine but I am from Asia and I grew up on anime. I also read manga and love it. It is a fantastic medium which has many categories and people from Japan including the old and young read manga everyday and watch anime.

The appreciation for the art also made its way to games. Just because you have no idea about what you're talking about while condemning it amid your ignorance does not mean there isn't a market for it.

I also read Manwha the Korean version of manga and I have found some amazing stories that this medium has afforded me. Thank heavens that people like you do not make decisions for others or tell us what we can watch or play. I am 60+ year old housewife and I do not have any issues with the art style at all.

I also dislike oversexualized anime...

But plenty of people do like it and this site would be stupid to turn down advertising customers, any site would.

Just use Adblock Plus if you don't want to see it. It really is that simple. Installing that would have been less effort than writing this post.

IDK why people hate anime style MMORPG , honestly i can't stand the "realistic" style of most western made MMORPG. It make me easy to get sick when playing those "realistic" games

If people was hate "anime" then i just sick of half ass "realistic" , come on , you can't even manage to make the "realistic" to pass the point of good look.

And if you hate the lingerie armor , go play male character like i do sometime and don't zoom in other people's butt or boobs . Be good adult

So many things.

First off, you are always entitled to your taste.

But, the world doesn't revolve around you. You are not the epicenter of everything, you are your own little special snowflake (as we all are) and you enjoy what you enjoy but you don't define anything for others.

Therefore, your opinion is subjective.

These games are from other cultures and they release them for those who would enjoy them. That's not you. Them not releasing them here will not change anything as far as western releases.

You have a problem with so few Western Releases? Take it up with the Western companies.

As far as their style, that is probably a mix of cultural tastes (big eyes for example) and the personal tastes of the developers. It is what it is.

You also don't understand why they don't have "realistic" armor, weapons. It's because they aren't trying to be realistic. It's all stylistic, and as I've offered before, it's probably because these characters are more akin to super heroes than realistic warriors.

It's more about the characters/persona than trying to make actual realistic avatars.

As far as your suggestion of having two sites, one for 13 year olds blah blah blah, You need to reassess a bit. You play video games. Guess what? There are people who think that those who play video games are children. Sorry to break it to you.

For many, having a little game on the phone to pass the time is exactly that. But if you actually play video games as a hobby you might as well be 13. So let's not get on some high horse because you think you are an adult because of very specific choices in a hobby that is viewed by others as kids' play.

Just play the games you like. Sorry that the tastes of a broader world bother you but that's life.

So everyone is entitled to their opinion unless they bag on your preferred artform at which point they must be closed down.

Let me put you at ease: Anime is fine, sexualizing pre-teens is not, regardless of the artform.

I also really enjoyed Eternal Sonata.

But that game and Tales of Vesperia had next to no cleavage and didn't feature bikini models controlling dragons. They probably could have doubled their sales had they featured pre-teens showing their underwear.

Have you seen the number of anime sex games on Steam? You can’t watch an x-rated video on the internet these days without some hardcore sex game add popping up including characters from Overwatch and other popular video games. I feel its going to get worse before it gets better because there is a lucrative market. Can you imagine if the holodeck was real?

Nah, as long as people stick to forum rules and are reasonably respectful there shouldn't be an issue keeping it open.

It's ok for people not to like things. It's ok for people to criticize things. If an actual discussion can be had then great.

So I don't care how many people like pre-teen over-rendered school girls flashing their underwear.
It is objectively wrong and objectively stupid.

Do you recall the Teletubby handbag controversy? This is what happens when people associate cartoon and other forms of media and equate them to children and pre teens and this discussion is never going to be fruitful.

In my opinion a person who looks at the small sized anime figure and if they're bothered to watch the story indicates that the character is an adult but cannot get over how the art depicts it . The problem is with the individual not the art. I have no more to say on this subject since this is going to go down the rubbish chute in short order.

I thought I made that clear by referencing the bikini models who tame dragons game that is in a Western style.

This is an important point.
It made me realize I don't want to see adults in their underwear either.

No, if you read what you wrote it doesn't seem like you are saying your distaste for Victoria Secret characters is universal it seems like you are calling that out solely in eastern games because your previous statements solely deal with eastern games.

In any case, you don't like them, that's great. But I and others are ok with indulging our inner 13 year old. Man or Woman!

To be clear, it really isn't an age thing as the 13yr. old comment was more a slam than a declaration of demographics. I cannot really bag on the age thing for real because I'm old and I play CardLife which features a cardboard guy running around killing cardboard goblins for cardboard ore. It is absolutely cartoon in appearance and theme.

I'm tired of the hyper realistic western style games as the art form is at a dead end.
I prefer the experimental styles of Darkest Dungeon and CardLife.

And to be fair, I find surfboard sized swords in any game to be as much of a turn off as lingerie wearing dragon tamers. It is why I didn't ever play WOW.

I could also say that you are still indulging your "child self" by playing any video game, even "CardLife."

What makes one a bad person in real life is most likely doing bad things. And that is going to be subjective. Oh sure, there are cultural bad things/Societal Bad things and for some religious bad things so that's going to change depending on where you are.

So sure, I get it, you enjoy certain art styles. I love Darkest Dungeon but ABSOLUTELY love the art style of Dark Souls and Dragon's Dogma. I dare say that those are my ultimate favorites. They have a foot in the realistic but have a lot of imagination.

But again, I also like the eastern styles and think Black Desert has an amazing style (if a bit too flashy/light show).

However, at the moment eastern developers are trying to make money like any company and there is a group of people in the west who like their games. You don't, it's understandable.

But I could argue, from where I sit, that not accepting/being tolerant (you don't have to like) of different tastes and even cultural tastes makes you a bad person.

Now, in truth I don't care if someone sits in their home and rants at all their perceived evils of the world. It's when those people start pushing it on others and trying to police others as far as what they enjoy that I find distasteful.

So yeah, don't play games you don't like. But the world is large and people should be able to enjoy what they like as long as they aren't forcing it on others. (and it's not illegal/hurting others)

You see that warning I have on my profile to the left? It was for talking about this same thing. Just letting you know that you won't be allowed to carry on along those lines here... which is understandable, you can't go around insulting people because they choose to like a mainstream form of entertainment. It's a different perspective, it doesn't mean they are sexually attracted to children. It's much more like being attracted to dwarfs than anything else tbh.
