OK! Great! Now, BioWare just have to make an anthem expansion and call it Anthem 2, charge $60 again, and they will get a new 8.5 rating. Just like Destiny!
LOL?! What?!
Yep. That's how you do it! In fact! The division is already doing that right now!
Oh the hypocrisy!
Except ... they have announced that there will be free story updates. If you are going to hate on it at least be objective and factual.

I think you're confused by his sarcasm.
You didnt need to make a new account to post this.
Anthem is rated lower than Fallout 76. And with the con of "inexcusable level of bugs" after you literally spent all of THAT shitshow's review excusing a far greater level of bugs. Is that a joke?
Be consistent if you want to be taken seriously. Because right now, I can't and don't take this site seriously as a review platform.
Two different reviewers, two different games, two different opinions.

Could be a genuine new user, you know... that wanted to start getting involved.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
Not in the least. The review and the score are right in line with every other review out there. Professional reviews at Metacritic sit at 23 reviewers with an aggregate score of 61 while 577 users have it at 3.7.
In the end, every review, no matter what site you visit or what sector you're reading reviews about, are just one person's opinion about something. Yours happens to be different but it is neither more nor less valid than the writer here on this site. It's just different.
I love how @Hashbrick said it earlier in this thread:
Can we as a community stop being little bitches about everything and anything and just take a review for what it is?
It's a review, it's immediately opinion based. Just like any site, pcgamer or otherwise there is one person behind said review. Also the fact that Athem across the board is getting low scores shows this review falls in line with the others. It's not wildly different, it's not a 10/10, it's not a conspiracy. Take it for what it is, another person's opinion based on a scoring system. That is what it is and that is all it ever was.
If you took reviews seriously, then you'd scan other sites to weigh your own opinion not just focus on one. Drop the pitchforks people.
I want to see if BioWare won't instantly abandon the game like it happened with Mass Effect. Anthem has huge potential to become a great game after a year (or two) of updates, more than any other MMO game on the market.
I would be highly upset if the game got abandoned. Because the core game is easily an 8/10 right now (when it works properly). The hard part is consolidating the bugs into a numerical deduction from there. A 6-6.5/10 isn't even all that unreasonable for a game this marred by bugs and issues, but I do worry that these reviews and hate trains will lead to the game being abandoned before it can reach the potential it deserves.
I also hope that BioWare has a chance to turn Anthem around, but I can't ignore the game's issues in my review even though I still enjoy the game anyways. They're valid issues and there are many of them.
I still play Anthem all the time. This isn't the character of someone who dislikes the game!
You really need to craft a new Muster Point
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
You know I sure am glad I don't rely on reviews to tell me what games to play. I have been gaming since games began. I am old as dirt, was an adult when pong came out and let me tell you about the revolution that was space invaders!
I've been playing Anthem for the last week and really enjoying myself. The flying and the combat are serious fun to me. Is it without problems? No of course not but a lot of those are getting seriously over-exaggerated. I have a good system but it's now 6 years old. It was top notch when I bought it. I'm running the game without issue.
The load screens while being a pita are much improved since the patch and many of them take very little time at all for me now. Freeplay? Don't know what you're doing Mike but I load in solo np and really enjoy just checking out the geography. I interact with others on the map as I see fit.
As to the endgame there is a lot of work required no doubt but then after gaming for this long, the last thing I do is rush to endgame with something that has just been released. Just don't get that mentality, of course it's going to be lacking!
What I see here is the basis for a good game which is still early in it's development. If Bioware sticks with this and listens to their community it is going to be very good indeed. In the meantime I will continue to have fun while I watch it grow. We have a big content patch coming very early in March.
I have no love for EA or Bioware for that matter but I also don't need to slam the big companies for every little mistake they make either. I judge each game I play on whether it is fun for me no matter who makes it. It's a game that has just released. I was there for the shit show that was Diablo 3 when it released. This is so much better it's hard to talk about them in the same write-up.

Unfortunately, there are no Masterwork or Legendary Support abilities. 36 Muster Point is the best I can do for now.

I know, I realised a bit after I said it lol doh
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
I am personally enjoying the game. I dig the combat. Playing with friends on the harder difficulties is entertaining. Sure it has a few meh moments. But it's not enough for me to get all pissy about and gloom and doom over. I think too many people spend too much time looking for things to complain about in online forums so they can offset the blame from their ADHD. Same goes for reviewers, streamers and youtubers. Negative, angry reviews get more clicks. Chill out folks. Maybe disconnect once in a while to learn to enjoy things again.
Lol it gets a lower score and people are either upset because the pros weren't in line with what they felt of the game or people are upset its too low compared to something else... Yup typical review.
I like the game but I agree with the score, id give it a 6 atm but with a potential of being an 8-8.5
The game in itself is really fun to play solo, pug or with friends. World is beautiful, freeplay has a lot to show and you can see where things can be put in, what could be a new mission/event in the future. That is also one thing that is a blow to the game, its very short but with a lot to come if they keep up with it. Load times have gotten way better, ui isn't that bad, javelins are awesome. Id like to see more added in the future. Content needs more, dialog needs more. This is like the first half of a game and we are waiting for the second half. Its story honestly is about the same as destiny in terms of length.

I'm glad I hit the nail on the head, but this community lately honestly has been disgusting. More toxic than good. I actually fear for your guys mental health @SBFord and all the staff. When you constantly post and get nothing but slander and "your opinion is shit" and have to explain why you posted what you posted.
That's when the spiral starts, you feel unappreciated and it becomes a love/hate relationship. You no longer put in your all, you no longer care, because why does it even matter, you just going to get people bitching about it anyway.
There's two part to this and I'm not speaking for the community, I'm no representative, but I am rallying and pleading for respect.
We as a community are not respecting the staff. It's ok to not like a column or disagree with a top10 or disagree with a sponsored article, whatever have you.
The staff is doing their part, they are posting the latest news, articles, sponsors, reviews, etc. The community however is not, the role we play is to have engaging discussion. Does engaging discussion happen? Absolutely! Is it more rare these days? Absolutely! Try to go through a thread without one person calling out the Staff for whatever the reason.
I find it sad that the Staff have to comment and justify what they posted, as if you the user is entitled to only what they want to see and hear. SBFord doesn't take shit and she will call out anyone that tries to, but she shouldn't have to deal with it in the first place.
Don't make this site like Twitter, don't make this site a cess pool of toxicity.
I went off track of what this discussion is suppose to be about: An Athem Review. But jesus christ this needed to be said and off my chest. It has got so bad lately it's been making me sick.
If you feel the need to constantly call out the staff, guess what genius!?!? THIS SITE ISN'T FOR YOU! MOVE ON!
*drops the mic*
[[ DEAD ]] - Funny - I deleted my account on the site using the cancel account button. Forum user is separate and still exists with no way of deleting it. Delete it admins. Do it, this ends now.
Rather generous, then again I disagree with all of the listed pros.
Yeah I thought the story was quite possibly one of the worst, I ended up skipping most of it cause I couldn't stomach another conversation that seems like it was written by a middle school english kid trying to finish his homework before playing Fortnite. I also thought the combat was pretty mediocre in the end. All you do is hit your buttons when cooldowns came up in a certain order (depending on what combo's). I have done GM 2-3, you don't have to actually try to coordinate really at all. Most combat eventually boils down to, shoot down dudes while spamming your abilities, ult when you get low on health, fly around like a crazy person for cover when you get low on health otherwise. The enemies literally spawn right next to you / behind you / out of no where so you can't really use cover very well in the game.
crap game, dunno how EA is going to explain it to their shareholders that Bioware did it again lol
After the catastrophe that was Mass Effect: Andromeda, they created another one called Anthem!
If this isn't enough proof that Bioware is done and over with.... I don't know what is.
It's pretty much guaranteed that EA will start doing the same with Bioware, like Activision just recently did with Blizzard.
I mean... seriously! After that many years of development and this is what they were able to deliver?
We can say a lot about Bungie's Destiny 1 release, but it was a 1000 times better, butter smooth gameplay, fun and addictive like hell and almost zero issues other than some exploits (albeit a little funny like with the notorious loot cave).
Bioware just can't create a good game anymore. All the good and competent people are long gone.
Bugs and loading screens are my main issues though am totally confused on why they want to talk about "Our world" and yet make it so hard to work with others who are not friends with their own way to chat.
I feel like I am playing hopping simulation game a lot of the time playing ranger but still have fun. It is a great amount of fun when playing with friends though.
I can't say the review is worse than I would give it but just because I have fun doesn't mean the game deserves a better score and I don't think it deserves less.
Comments
The UI? A extremely minor issue at best. "OH NOES, I HAVE TO HOLD A BUTTON!?!?!?!?"
Bugs: Haven't had a single one yet
Lack of content: I haven't reached level 30 yet, but just on paper there isn't much available so I can see that.
I think you're confused by his sarcasm.
You didnt need to make a new account to post this.
Just your typical double standard.
