From private beta to open beta it already has many changes players asked for.
Calling it a mod of the first game is ludicrous.
It's built on the foundation of the first and while maintaining the gameplay that players liked.
New setting, new story, new skills, new weapons, new mechanics, same gameplay.
..Cake..
Angry joe mentioned Div2 many times in his Anthem review and talked what's wrong with many of the Shooters that are released today. That companies release broken stuff and set a skeleton crew to fix it etc.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The 1 year pass also gives you exclusive items and supply drops, customization stuff....pretty much a bunch of frivolous stuff. It's 40 dollars more... and I can't say if it's really "worth it" for me personally, but a lot of times, you can upgrade these versions at a later date in some form or another.
do they have real hats by now? or is it still beanie haven

Someone complaining or even talking about a BETA is not a review of a finished product its Beta. So things are going to change. Hell things have already changed between the private beta to the open beta.
They started development of the engine and tools back in 2009, they spent 7 years making the engine and game. Now they're resusing that same engine, on the same generation of consoles. Reusing many of the 3d models.
The savings are MASSIVE on the developer, but nothing of that comes to the benefit of the consumer. All I'm saying is that there are much better deals out there. You can play Warframe for free, and thay had 40 million players last year.

I am sorry but this is just wrong, if you think remaking a in house engine for every title makes for a good game it sure thing does not. They (like any other game studio with a in house engine) upgrade that engine with new technology as time progresses, this allows the developers to use a engine that they have loads of experience in to create new content, this again enhances their workflow. With increased workflow they will also be able to focus more on game play and content for the game, and thinking of reusing 3D models from their first title is not a bad idea either if they can. So this does benefit the consumer, I am still on the fence with this game and not just ranting about it because am hyped. But your argument is just wrong.

The fact that they hastily put this together with 7(!) studios simultaneously within 1 or 2 years doesn't really make me any more hopeful.
Closed beta confirmed my fears and really just felt like an expansion pack for Division 1.
I agree, with how much gamers are improving at rapid pace of consumption, which is worsened by the fact that alot of games are just too fuckin easy, the majority of content by core gamers will be done within a month time of release, even faster if they are really into it.
Have a content drought for months is a sure way for your game to die.

I agree. The demo was really disappointing. But others disagree with me. But i think they're looking at it from rose tinted goggles.

They don't need a new engine if the current one works well.... the same with 3D models.
There's a lot of new stuff in The Division 2... calling it a mod is ridiculous.
I've played Warframe quite a bit.. it's good fun but very different to The Div.
I really liked The Div1 gameplay and I liked what I played from the private beta in The Div2.

100€ for The Division Expansion: Washington LOL. Enjoy!
The Division 2 as meant to bascally be a better version of the orignal game set in a new area with a new story, from my understanding that was the goal in the first place, so of course it feels like a Div1 expansion. I do not see the problem here, did you enjoy the first game? if so, the gameplay in the second is simmlar so you should like it.
I mean look at the call of duty games, every single one is bascally the exact same game with even LESS things different compared to between division 1 and 2. Assassins Creed to, your doing the same stuff every game just in a new area. Welcome to what a sequel to a game means.
Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:
A. Proven right (if something bad happens)
or
B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)
Either way, you can't lose! Try it out sometime!
good, and even tho that was one point joe mentioned on his division 1 review, he was totaly right on that one.
all good hats had to be bought in d1. was pretty annoying imo
style 4tw (and yes, i realize d1 "hat" other probs too *G*)

Year 1 plan sounds great! In TD1 they jumped right into ppl having to buy DLC for content. In TD2 they avoid that, at least for a year, in letting everyone play all the year one content free.
They have listed a current state of the game and listed all the patch notes going into the open beta since the private beta they gathered from player feedback.
I really think they are going about this in a good way and am curious to see how the game is going to evolve.
I think everyone who is even a little interested in TD2 should try the open beta. It sounds like the changes they made were directly in response to what people complained about in the PBT.
The more feedback they get in the OBT they may just tweak enough if something is amiss before launch.
Agreed, and experience with the company tells me that I've made a good bet buying Gold.

I mean, or you could not. Not everyone wants to play Warframe. The game being popular last year does not make the game any better / worse. If we went purely by numbers Fortnite is the best game ever created. If you want to tell someone to try a different game, explain the reasons the GAME is better. Personally I don't really see them as the same kind of game at all and they scratch very different itches thematically, progression wise, and gameplay wise.
There are also games that have been using the same engine for years that have massive improvements. You likely don't understand much about how game engines work if you think that the same engine somehow means they can't improve it graphically / mechanically. I mean, technically Skyrim still uses the same engine as Morrowind. Even just by the trailers I can see a pretty huge difference in texture and lightning quality.
