@FlyByKnight there is both 1st and 3rd person perspective, I prefer 3rd pp.
@Shana77 frontline mode is similar to wows alterac valley or arathi basin control point battle grounds
What do you mean similar to AV classic or Arathi Basin? Do you get to choose what kind of frontline mode you get?
Your remark sounds like saying a certain car is as good as a porsche carrera or a toyota aygo. Classic Alterac Valley was one of the best mass multiplayer battlegrounds ever developed, a region with extremely tough NPC's to overcome, with a constant tug of war, taking down towers, capturing locations, battling bosses and gathering resources with battles that literally lasted days before they ended and interesting mechanics like mine capturing, summoning great lords that would fight for you. I'm talking about classic AV here, not the current rushfest.
Arathi basin is a wholy uninspired territory control battleground of which there are literally hundreds of copies in both the mmo and shooter scene.
So is it like Alterac Valley classic? I don't care about Arathi Basin.
Let me guess, as a new player you can go up against a group of better geared/skilled (character skills) players you have no chance of winning against?
Wrong guess.
Progression is horizontal. Your skill level is your own, as a player not as a character(or gear).
But some people are great at this game, and when you face them you usually don't last long. (but well you respawn few seconds after and try to do better...)
As for unlocking equipment, it goes very fast if you don't focus your gold spendings on cosmetics. Meaning that quickly you can enjoy the most popular loadouts and/or make your very own ones.

Or how about as a new player follow a group of your own teams players and stick distracted enemies in the rear with a short spear and shield combo rather than trying to run alone into a group of enemies.
