37 Billion. With a "B".
Long term would be too long for the mouse. After Marvel and Lucasfilm, everybody has ideas for Disney purchases.

Best scenario the two companies will merge just like Blizzard and Activision did before.
Making a new company (Disney/Activision) would cost no money to both companies as they will just get the shares of the new company according to the value of each company at the time of the merge.
The question is, will a merge of the two companies will be valued more than the two companies combined in the long run?
If investors think so, then the merge might happen, otherwise both companies will keep going their own ways.
what.. disney bought fox entertainment division for 71.3 billion dollars, i think you're massively underestimating how deep disneys pockets are. Edit - in 2018 fiscal year disney made 60 billion in profit... thats not total revenue generated thats pure profit.
Scary though. Have you seen how many marvel/star wars/disney mobile games there are? It's incredible so many have been made and compete with each other.
they have already said in an interview they have no interest in developing or owning their own games studio, they are more than happy with building relationships with existing development studios and working closely with them for the games side of things.
Activision doesn't have such good prospects that Disney would be really interested, if WoW classic fails then ActiBlizz will continue to lose value, and if WoW classic succeeds then not only would Disney really not be able to afford to buy, but ActiBlizz investors would likely be reluctant to even sell without significant financial incentive which i heavily doubt Disney has the ability to produce.
no, mickey is not in overwatch, good thing we talked about it tho
"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!"
And for fox media they paid like $80 billion dollars.
They are one of the most profitable companies since 2012. Since 2012 they own EVERY blockbuster in cinema. There are NO movies that earn more than Disney for almost a decade now.
They'll dish out 5-6 superhero movies more and they'll have enough cash to buyout Activision fully.
It's insane looking at the sheer power Disney has. They're going to launch Disney+ in couple of months (in November I think) and they are pulling all their IP from competing streaming services. This shit would be the new Netflix, but it won't be operating at a loss for investors. It will rake billions of dollars because it is expected to have a worldwide launch with a full library in every region (currently you are a bit fucked if you want to have Netflix and you are not in the US)
Disney is a powerhouse and 40 billion dollars isn't much for them. If they want Activision they will get it. But they probably don't want a devalued company, lol.
They did the same recently for some other big studios, everyone remember right
the key to become rich, buy low sell high, always works
Nothing to see here.
