The only reliable and true marketing research proves is that "everyone plays everything" if advertised well.
If a consumer purchases a product regardless of it's faults... It's a green flag saying "everything about it is what everyone wants". This false proof stacks higher and strengthens at a geometric rate as advertisement does its job.
The foundation is now set in stone.... Free-to-play and child like game play is here to stay.
Everything is fine and added to the count if you press the "X" button.
This is so much true that if people abandon a game, marketing will now say "people don't like mmorpgs anymore".
"Everyone plays everything" is the culprit in the bad state of mmorpg's are at now. Marketing researchers don't play mmorpg's they only look at the "X" button.
So here we stand !

One employee actually walked around the factory telling everyone to boycott the cafeteria on Friday.... EVERYONE agreed..... Guess what happened ?..... Everyone ate at the cafeteria on Friday !
People are people, theirs no stopping anything.
So in the end you are considering doing well if you can retain 6% of the people trying your game.
It is an article on google, I don't know if it is real or not. But my experience playing mmorpg. The vast amount of people quit the game in 1 month.
Put it this way,
How can you chart something that doesn't exist ?
And that's a real mmorpg.

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

"Everyone plays everything if marketing tells you it good"
When it sucks, and everyone quits... people must not like games.
I feel bad for you when I see what is happening but at some point one has to question your intelligence if you do not see how much abuse you're taking.
You have always said that you think I'm a nice person well as a person whom you think is nice, let me give you some advice, you have a problem if you cannot see what is going on and actually believe your own fantasy about what your threads generate. Try posting on other people's threads and take a break from creating threads as they seem to be on a repeat loop.
Keep a calendar and write down what threads you have created so you avoid posting the same drivel in a short span of time. If you must create a thread write down all the points before writing it so that you cover all the points and not create multiple threads as you think up more ideas. This isn't a race where the more threads you create somehow makes you a star poster, having the ability to address all the points in one thread is a good idea.
Take a step back and evaluate the need and your cry for attention that most of us can see but you seem to be oblivious to. I'm sorry if this comes across as harsh but I think someone should tell you not to believe your own press.
If you find you have some spare time you can perhaps improve your English and may be write better threads so that people are not inclined to make that much fun of you. It's difficult to find fault in a well thought out and articulated post and much less cause for people to take potshots at you. Your spelling mistakes alone once rectified will elevate your threads.
As for MMORPGs, they’ve been charted for ages and todays climate is the result. And even then its still a climate with plenty of MMORPGs around, saying there are none is nonsense.

(and for some reason, i just said this in failsafe's voice (her sarcastic self ofc)...
"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!"
One quality I like is you don't feed off others fun and your a few steps above all that....Rare quality !..... However you do have a boiling point where you can't take it anymore and explode, but still its a high tolerance level and that's a good quality too.
Being honest I'm not blind, I see all that.
However the state of mmorpg's are a mess to the point their almost gone. You know it, I know it and everyone else can feel it..... There are real answers, but no one will face them.
Most here are "hypocrites", they say one thing in one post and something completely different in another. Many when something is brought to attention they clip only the parts they can argue with and leave the rest out..... This site has become simply a play on words site, every thing ANYONE says gets twisted around..... Why is it now like that?...... Nothing to play !
MASS MARKETING destroyed the market all to make games cheaper, and use their power to "tell everyone they like it".
Why don't I care about self ?
Straight up..... This is the internet.... I can sacrifice myself for the the honest real answers. Me against 200 people that are full of crap. It's not hiding behind the internet......I can be honest..... too bad my grammar sucks.... That I should improve.
This topic hits the mark absolutely !..... Big business put us out of business out of greed.
My time is limited here,
Why because the market is dead and were playing a word game. Not much to talk about for any of us, even all topics are drying up. I have faith in a few up coming mmorpgs but their three years away, thats a fact and we all know it.... No one faces facts here.
My #1 game is being turned into a personal playground so the head developer can experiment with something that's been fixed for many years, ( graphics and animation) and he is wasting peoples money. I call things as they are !...... Yes I'll be playing the game three years from now.
Like I say my time is limited here,
Not because of the foolish attitude, but games are drying up and I lost a lot of respect for many.... This goes both ways !
You are one of several I have respect for.
Its simply a numbers game. As a business man would you rather sell 1000 things for 30 bucks grossing 30k with a 95% customer satisfaction rating because you actual made an amazing product for your TARGET market and spent allot of time and money doing it.
OR
Would you rather sell 100,000 things for 2 dollars grossing 200k with an overall customer satisfaction rating of 5 to 10%. Basically just tossing a product together with some casino hook mechanic.
At this point its all just a numbers game because the market is so HUGE and accessible with F2P games. And Marketing depts can say everyone loves our games because we make so much money.
The OP is basically correct its just his wording of everyone plays everything is not connecting with people. I think a better way to put it is, most people will trying anything if its initially free.
I can think laterally enough to find the underlining meanings in this persons posts. I don't think US English is his fist language and the translation/wording is kind of wonky sometimes.
This is true... I just wrote it on the internet... and everyone knows that if it's on the internet, it must be true!
Look what I did there... I answered an asinine post with an asinine response... ain't the internet great!
That's why you can't use normal game logic again MMORPG
Companies aren't idiots. They know the power of marketing, but they also know the power of having a good game.
