Diablo Unlimited, by now Activision, and i say Activision because lets face it Blizzard ceased to exist some time ago, but Activision is probably getting worried that Diablo Unlimited is not only going to fail outside of the Asian market, which is only to be expected, but that even in the Asian market, there are too many competitors that are 'similar' if not better. In short, Diablo Unlimited might have to rely on NA/EU sales in order to succeed, and that is extremely unlikely.
LMAO - Acti-Blizz a PC developer first.... What a joke, your sold out years ago, reply on a slowly dying MMO with rehashing vanilla to suck more money for a time being. Can't wait to hear what BlizzCon will be top story..... Starcraft Mobile game.....
Well to he fair they said "we" - they outsourced Diablo Immortal to a 3rd party that makes mobile games.
Yeah I know. I mean that's the SADDEST part of it, isnt it? Diablo Immortal is not even a Blizzard game. It's a NetEase game sponsored by Activision.
Well mobile game dev is actually different enough that PC game devs dont feel comfortable doing it.
So most any company that doesnt have in house mobile platform dev expertise will outsource or the other more expensive option is to hire mobile devs.
They own King, they got lots of experience with mobile I would say.
/Cheers, Lahnmir
Not sure making games like Candy Crush etc. really translates very well, i hardly think Activision would have outsourced to netease if King could have done the same job half as well.
So their big Diablo news will be that Diablo Immortal will be available on pc?
It would still be a better game than Pagan Online.
i dont mind pagan its kinda like arcade diablo! but TBH wolcen is gonna be the next big diablo like, once its out of early access early 2020!
Wolcen could be rad if they keep on their current path and don't frack it all up. I really like the latest update. Balance is a bit wonky. Trying to figure out trait synergies is challenging. Combat is very punchy and crunchy in that satisfying way.
yeah i keep up with its dev even bought it in early access to support them but i wont play until its out as i dont want a bad experience to mess up my thought on the game, this is one game i dont mind waiting for as it looks worth it.... hopefully this also sates my hunger for a diablo/marvel heroes esque gameplay as D3 got stale and Marvel heroes is no more!
Marvel Heroes
I'm not even a huge marvel fan but that game scratched all the ARPG itches. I doubt anyone will ever make a game with that many classes/systems again.

ya , sadly once the revamped the game some heroes lost its appeal and felt kinda similar (like wow nowadays , builder > spender ST or AOE )
i still loved playing it (loved heroes with teleport , of course NC was my fav blink strike ftw!)
After D3's real money auction house, Diablo Immortals announcement along with "Don't you guys have phones?" insult to them saying we think we want Classic WoW but we don't...
Anyone spending money on D3 auction house are real losers period. I don't understand why anyone would pay for anything with real money in this game.
I mean the game is shallow. It gives you a desktop level entertainment for a little while. After that its just grinding for Primals and anything past GR130+ is just for bragging rights.
think their a big misconception about spending money on anything, that people need stop stereotyping.
money is power, money is choice. now those with little see it as a waste ( wise ) those with a lot don't care and are seen as a fool. ( for some it true but not all )
however their is a point when the phrase " time is money " is true. their time is worth more then X wasted so they spend too enjoy their time vs a common man who is poor and it is the the opposite. now corporation are wrong in exploiting it but the people who want too enjoy something and are willing pay more then you are, are not fools just rich enough too not care even when you bitch it wrong, it the corner stone of everything we value in the world.
everything is a form of exploiting people and everything can have a cheaper or free alternative the big issue that need fixing is the extremes of both views F2P or cheap people want more for less and wanting it better, faster cheaper and the elitist greed asshats who want higher cost too keep them above others while also giving out a little as possible too attain more wealth too keep the cycle going.
“I think the thing that we did a poor job of when we announced Diablo: Immortal", it was not about how you are saying something, it is about what you were doing.
I still think the outrage wasn’t warranted, but I don’t understand why they didn’t just make diablo 4 and make it cross platform. This day and age a mobile port is relatively simple to do.
I liked Diablo 3. Tried the money system and showed why it 'can't' work but I appreciate the try. Looking forward to the next PC version! Also, looking forward to the mobile version on my sexy S10! Diablo on the go, fck yea!! Everyone keeps saying they're done but we all know we'll still give it a try
If they think that all the hate from the last Blizzcon was motivated by fear that they were changing focus from PC to mobile they're still not getting it.
The problem was that they spent months coyly doling out hints that a big Diablo announcement was coming and all they had was the Immortal announcement. No one saw that coming since Diablo had always been a PC/console game.
If you're going to hype a secret project and be all mysterious and shit about it don't mislead people into thinking it's going to be a PC announcement and then pop the disappointment of no PC gaming news on them after you worked them up.
If they had announced Immortal AND D4 at the same time they would have gotten zero backlash.
The problem was their hype misdirection not that they're porting D3 to mobile. Sounds to me like they still haven't figured that out and are still talking about the fictitious "fear of PC abandonment" straw man instead of owning up to their monumental hype campaign fuck up.

They did actually say they wouldn't be announcing D4 last blizzcon. People still got upset when they didn't announce it.

Yeah extremely late just before Blizzcon and people still thought the big announcement would be a PC IP maybe related to Diablo still.

Assuming that D4 announcement was something that would have been recieved well.
Again insider rumors are saying that D4 is fundamentally huge departure from previous Diablo games - as in its first person and not isometric
If true- I am not sure how that would have been recieved
Yeah those are very old rumors from a Kotaku article. When the successor was code named "Hades" they were indeed looking at an over the shoulder MMOish 3D perspective. But Hades was ditched and they re-started with a new director with a new code name of "Fenris" and the rumors are that this is the old isometric perspective. They might still go back to the 3rd person view but no one knows for sure:
One ongoing conversation, for example, has been whether to keep the isometric camera angle or use the over-the-shoulder third-person view that was prototyped for Hades. Recent builds of the game have been isometric, like previous Diablo games, according to three people familiar with Fenris, but questions remain over whether that should change.
I'm sure we'll get more details this year at blizcon.

This will be very easy to see if it is just bloviating or just words. The interface tells all. Will it have an actual PC civilized interface who use the superior and civilized KB+M, or will it be geared towards the savage monkey barbarians who use controllers?

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

Yeah, Blizzard is dead; long live Blizzard. They haven't released a non-microtransactional game in nearly a decade.
