During BlizzCon, I went through the Diablo IV demo twice and had the chance to check out both the Druid and the Barbarian. The demo gave us a level 20 character to do some quests and explore a bit. Sadly, there wasn’t the opportunity to change skill selection or vary the build outside of random equipment, which dropped while playing. However, it was a nice slice of gameplay to give a feel for how everything works in this game.

This guy said there are open world events you will be able to share with other people that spawn on a timer. Sounds like it will be similar to Marvel Heroes

I would be so overjoyed if anything could fill the void Marvel Heroes' closure left. Marvel Heroes wasn't even a good game. I just loved Midtown Monday that much.

Also... add the Monk! Let me punch Lilith in the face!

Ahh so they let their golden children stream, at least got a look at some gameplay. Really like the vibe, brings back memories of Diablo 2.

My body is ready for Diablo III. May Diablo 2.5 be a distant memory.

Well, it was a super hero game at the end of the day, and I'm always going to main my favorite superheroes.

Which, for me, was Gambit, Daredevil, and motherfuckin' Punchclops.

I will allow myself to be optimistic about this game. I really like the direction they are taking. Remains to be seen if this will be my next Grim Dawn or not, I hope it will be.

    Cheers!

hope the let players customize UI , somehow. Inventory and Character screen toguether? no thanks, that takes half the screen

A major component of the Diablo series was collecting and equipping gear and the visuals that accompanied them. It was fun to show off what you had earned. Diablo 4 has removed the visual component. You can now pay to have different looks. Your character is no longer an amalgamation of their conquests/trials but of what the user chose to spend after already purchasing the game.

For that reason I will be passing on Diablo 4. I don't want paid cosmetics in my full priced games. It removes a large portion of the RPG element from ARPG. It will absolutely, 100% only get worse from here on out. There is no arguing otherwise as its been stated for many years now in many other instances and always proven to be true.

    So fuck you Blizz.

The game is likely 3 years away - they UI will probably be very different than what was shown

You have proven over the years to be an incredibly unreliable source of opinion and facts. I remember when you stated that Devilian was the next biggest thing.

They stated it is beyond Blizzard soon so I enjoyed seeing the demo but who knows what from the demo will be kept as I expect it to be minimum of 5 years before it could be released.

They haven't said that the cosmetics are for your characters armor and I would be surprised if they were. I'm expecting things like wings, banners, flags, and mount skins. Maybe they'll steal some ideas from PoE and have footprints or spell appearances. Cosmetics does not immediately mean your characters appearance.

I think Blizzard's execs are smart enough to realize that removing the incentive to play isn't good for the bottom line.

You say that, but Heroes of the Storm does a really bad job of rewarding longer play sessions. Once your daily quests are done, you can choose to keep playing for a pittance, or you can log off and wait for your dailies to stack up again.
