It always the next patch that is going to fix this train wreck...
Did you missed totally the concept of game development or are you just trolling?
Same stupid excuse from these zealous star citizen supporters...The funny thing is the person you defend every day..Lord Roberts...is relying on naive people like you to keep the lights on in his mansion.
... same low level answer from those calling Robert a Lord or backers cultist... when backers are just average Joe, pledging to get the project they want to be done... with half of the project (SQ42) reaching Beta in 2020... and the other, close to most contents and gameplay through 6 more patch by mid-2021...not 2030 or never
They sold me a $110 specialized "pirate" ship that docks with other ships to board them, not Princess Leia from one ship to the other.
That game mechanic was taken out of the game and "oopsy, no refund".
Now my specialized "pirate" ship is just a generic, overpriced cargo ship that hauls less than an actual cargo ship.
A game in earlyd evelopment changed one asset specification... chocking... or just normal development rules applying to any project: "Subject to Change"
Still ships will still be able to either dock through a different mechanism or with EVA suit.
Cutlass as never been a pure transport ship so having a dedicated transport ship carrying more than a none dedicated transport ship is so chocking again...
Last but not least, Cutlass is not a generic ship but one of the best overall ship: one o f the best tanky ship for its size and price, good guns, able to transport a small group of combat together with cargo.
You really picked the worst exemple to prove the opposite of what you attempt to say Lol

LMAO. No matter the year the arguments for and against this piece of crap are exactly the same. THAT should tell you something. They have been promising the same things for the entirety of the project. There arent even any NEW arguments to have because they havent advanced this thing far enough to get past the pros or cons of it from 2014. THAT should tell you all you need to know about this.
Its not even as if they have implemented any actual mechanics that can be considered 'new' and talk about how great or bad they are. the only 'new' are the supposed 'improvements' to shit they had during the initial tech demo release. Except now they almost sort of work 5% of the time.
So the ship you're boarding is just a static piece of scenery that doesn't move and doesn't function?
Meh. Tell me again when they manage to implement boarding on ships instead of just boarding on static pieces of space debris.
We were suppose to be able to dock with it, if your ship had a docking collar. My "pirate" ship use to have a docking collar, then they removed it. Guess we're space walking between ships now.
7 years development. $300M. Space walking a boarding party to raid a ship.

You can board ships since they introduced the open universe and ships big enough to be boarded so since the end of 2015 as shown in this video.
You can board not only other players ships but also NPC ships, killing the captain allows for the control of that ship.
Boarding other ships and engaging in FPS battles inside them is a normal ocurrence in the game for some time now: https//youtu.be/8zcJ_5Ugx_M
You can even use your ship to capture other players by scooping them and deal with them as you like:
This is very much basic knowledge for anyone that follows the game development or plays it.
Funny how it only takes is a couple of haters to keep these threads going filled with the same reashed ignorant remarks from people who know nothing about it.
Oh well... Haters Gona Hate!
Meanwhike Star Citizen keeps getting bettter with more and more players joining and making millions in the process
You can board not only other players ships but also NPC ships, killing the captain allows for the control of that ship.
You left out the fact that you can't fight against the captain or the crew, because that part's not implemented yet.
Maybe one day RSI manages to develop the game to the point where you can engage a hostile ship in space and then fight for its control, but right now it's still just bits and pieces.
"Details on boarding and hijacking a ship" made me wish maybe they'd finally be able to show the complete loop, but sadly it looks like it's not there yet.
Alpha means the features haven't been locked down, it's an exploratory phase. Beta means the features have been locked down and are under development (no other features will be added). More commonly: Alpha: Usually the first normally interact-able thing out (private or public use is irrelevant)
This is what most people would agree to when defining alpha, beta stages.
But not Chris Roberts.
Where do you draw a line in the sand between alpha, beta, Early Access? Are they just labels?
Chris Roberts: I feel like they're just labels - people still think of the old way [of making games], like my past games.
At Gamescom we're getting a good look at Star Citizen version 3.0. Are you in a state now that you'd term beta? What's next?
Chris Roberts: The term beta in terms of Star
Citizen - with 3.0 the game is moving into a phase akin to Early Access.
It'll build and grow from there, and then you could say 'well, it's not
really Early Access anymore'. The price will probably go up a little
bit and it will have much more of the features and content going on.
He was also asked by a Gamestar employee about when 1.0 would release (obviously meaning reaching an full release) and Roberts said "We're at 3.1 already"

But you can fight against the captain and crew's of ships! Just not npc's yet since AI is still dependant on tech that's being developed along with server network. That weekly update video showcases some work in progress towards adding npc's to said ships and creating missions around them.
There's already npc's in bunkers or derelict ships to deal with, the next step is inside big ships and so on.
Like many other features whose work was showcased in these video shows before being available to players like planetary landings, fps shooting or female characters for example. When they feel they have a iteration of it ready enough to deploy to the backers to test and get feedback they will.
I have to wonder how delusional some of you SC fan boys really are..... I have been a backer since 2012 but I can see through a lot of the bullshit. There must be so much shit in your eyes it's clouded your vision so tremendously you just can't even grasp it. It's comparable to a religion in this way . You believe it so much that even if facts were put in front of your face you still would see it as a lie or deception and not evidence would ever convince you otherwise. I am not as excited about this game as I once was and I am hopeful that one day the game will release with all the promised features, but most of all I hope it to be a fun experience and not feel like a half assed game that's not fun to play. The game has moved so far away from a traditional MMORPG I don't know if it will ever steer its way back that direction. Well with that being said if the game ever gets the social and character depth that makes mmorpg's great I might actually try playing it again.

I think you might have backed the wrong game then. The game was never meant to be a traditional MMORPG and if you backed based on 2012's early pitch you shoul have known that.
A package, ok, and where is it that you own it ? I'm surew if you actually do own it, they will give the Mr. Smart refund.
Also curious of your english comprehenstion level. since you are claiming a refund for an alpha build ... really, just stop. It is obvious you work for a project that can't even match the level funding and enthusiasm of SC.
What? Someone complaining about being sold a SINGLE ship for $110 and wanting a refund because it no longer does what he was told it would do? How delusional do you have to be to argue against that? Then to use the argument that the game is in alpha, but yet they are selling ships for $110, IN ALPHA BTW. I'm not worried about your English comprehension, I am more worried about your mental state.

what is like having multiple accounts to trash one game ? Must be a lot of work.
A. Read what I have written anywhere in this thread or on this site. I have never once trashed the game. I don't play it, probably never will even if it does release. Don't really care one way or the other frankly.
B. What I am doing is defending a guy who paid $110 for a ship in a game in ALPHA state and that ship no longer does the thing it was promised to do. Then that person has to listen to a fanboi tell him the "game is in alpha, what do you expect?" You know what rational people expect? To get what they are promised for $110. Don't sell things for that insane amount of money and then scrap it.
If you're adverse to change and uncertainty investing money on crowdfunded video-games might not the best decision.
Just because some were gullible enough to mistake crowdfunding with a pre-order doesnt mean they are entitled to act like spoiled brats and throw tantrums because "their special toy" got changed along the way
Well one thing is they should if they haven't spell out in the description these words, "these specification maybe subject to change". And make it bold type face so it's not easily missed.

Or maybe both....
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.
