Which of these MMORPGs are closest to launch

So i know some of you are more updated on these than me.  So out of Crowfall, CoE, Camelot Unchained, AoC, and Pantheon....   Which of these are probably the closest to being ready for launch?

Crowfall. There's no official launch date yet, but it's a good bet that it will launch in 2020. Alpha is scheduled to begin in February and alpha and beta won't be that long. Mostly just for polishing and bug fixing.

Ok thanks guys, i may start reading up on Crowfall more now.  I stopped following kickstarters too close after nothing ever turning out but definitely will follow Crowfall more now since it sounds like it is close.

I wasn't aware Crowfall was aiming to be a mmorpg. I guess it can be anything it wants since its been changing so much over the years.

So is Crowfall lets say more like Warhammer or is it basically ESO  Cyrodiil?

It's kind of its own thing to be honest. Its more of a survival game mixed with large scale PVP. You have to eat and drink. Craft your gear. IF you die you lose it and you have to recraft it.
Thanks, i am not a big fan of full loot pvp but always willing to give a game a shot.    If pvp is done right, its just so much fun.

On what basis is Crowfall not an MMORPG?  That worlds reset after some days or weeks or whatever, even though your character doesn't?

There are different loot rules. The Infected world has no loot PvP, but it's also not a regular campaign. It doesn't end and no one can actually win it. The campaigns have full inventory loot. Your equipped items do not drop. There may be some campaigns that include that rule. They can make different campaigns with different sets of rules. You join the ones that fit your playstyle.

Gear does decay though, so you will have to replaced it eventually.

I don't have high hopes for many of those tbh...

Crowfall is a campaign-driven pvp game moreso than a persistent world.  It might be fun in a log-in-and-pvp-for-a-while way but I doubt it will satisfy my needs.  Will play it and try it out but meh.

Camelot Unchained will be DAoC without the PvE.  Goal should be improve on all the facets of DAoC where it came short, not abandon environment altogether.  I enjoy RvR.  But not only that.  Killing monsters to craft is not my idea of fun.

Ashes of Creation is another sandbox where players decide the world blah blah blah.  I mean I have hopes but at this point I know better than to put too much into it.

Pantheon sounds like they have the right idea but will it ever be done?  I feel like maybe 2030 might be enough time for these guys to finish it up.  Kidding of course but have a feeling this will be a tease that milks money from donors and folds up shop down the road.

At this point I suspect we'll see a game come out of nowhere that borrows from what works with a nice business model and a rich world to explore.  It's really my best hope, yeah, how sad is that.

But all that aside I do feel like MMOs will make a round turn here soon.  They just have to get past this era of reinventing everything thinking they're smarter than the market.  Someone will wise up and we'll have a new game followed by some other devs making a similar realization and a better era will rise.

Will Crowfall be the kind of game I can play without worrying about raiding and getting bis and stuff can be replaced easily. I really enjoy the BGs in classic WoW but hate the repair bills and using the consumables. I was hoping to play a game I can just jump in and PvP and leave and not worry about getting money or consumables.

Star Citizen will launch in a wildly unfinished state whenever they run out of money, so that they cannot continue development and just need to push the game out the door.

You won't need to worry about PVE raiding or gearing up for PVE in Crowfall.  For the most part, you won't be able to keep a given piece of gear forever.  Gear will be easier to get than in a lot of MMORPGs, but will be lost or destroyed often, too.

An alternative to looking up wikipedia is to check out the forum threads for the games.

SC a charity just to keep developers employed? It certainly isn't making a "profit".

I prefer the: finish the game so they can sell cosmetics so execs can pay themselves millions a year - probably not the tens of millions a year that A-B and EA pay but still. And maybe take the company public and make hundreds of millions.

Launch and potentially make millions makes much more sense than: keep the developers employed till it runs out of money then shut it down and face probable lawsuits.

All of them will eventually release and nobody will be happy about the states of all of them at launch

Out of those, Crowfall will absolutely launch first.  I am not a PvP'er but I'm still very interested in what they're doing.  Their solutions to PvP games problems seem very clever/solid, and although I've only played the alphas so far it seems to be shaping up well.  For me unless they take a drastic turn with the direction of development I will probably primarily play it at launch, or at least as my side game.

I could be wrong, but Ship of Heroes looks ike it could be a 2020 release.

EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests

That would surprise me. I am proud supporter of the game but I feel like unless they have done a lot of work behind the scenes they should have a lot of testing left.

It could just be that I am used to crowdfunded MMO's being in testing for years and years though.
    Probably wishful thinking by me.

No matter how much funding a game has, having enough feature creep can still make it so that that level of funding is nowhere near enough to finish the game.  As proof of this, I cite Star Citizen.
