    Everything about metacritic is bad.

Why anyone bothers to use it other than the game companies is not something i can understand.

You for sure can not get any type of true review or info from it. And when you have someone that is supposed to be a reviewer or critic here trying to support the abuse that makes the whole thing horrible?

Just for shame....only thing I got from this "article" is my opinion that you are part of the problem as well.

I care not at all for this game...but please...we do not need people that we might look to to give us some true reviews, or info, to advise others to use broken and shoddy review systems to further muddy and distort the info that we have.

Any gain people might get from trying these types of dishonest means to obviously underrate games will someday backfire on them. Your reputation is not something you really want to make rest on something like this.

You are handing the very people that you are trying to provoke, easy means to discredit you not only on this issue...but ANY issue.

Do better...from all the times i have enjoyed reading your stuff...i know you can do better.

Just love the Feb. 2, 2020 Forbes article about this. Haven't played W3 in a long time; and from the sounds of things I am glad I waited to see how launch went before returning.

how is it review bombing if they are accurate reviews?

I’m not a journalist though so wtf do I know.
...neither is an author of the article.

I guess I am old fashioned, I believe in the truth. If you think a game is 4 out of 10 say so, but don't give it a 1 because you want your opinion to count more than it should. Likewise if you think is an 8 don't give it a 10. As to the DLC itself it looks rather poor but that's not 0.5 out of 10 is it, look at those official reviews on Metacritic it was not exactly getting lauded was it?

This culture we are creating where an internet mob rounds on things it does not like is very dangerous and is not dissimilar in mentality to the street mobs after which it is named. Objectivity and pause for reflection are left behind for action in the heat of the moment, never a good way to approach an issue. To have this lauded by a writer on here who should be speaking out against such behaviour is dire. It shows the will of the mob makes professionalism go to the wall, because so many people think it is alright I now think this is alright.

This works both ways, loot boxes are something most gaming companies think are OK, the settled view of gaming companies is not something gaming journalists should take as a given. Simply because many people think something is all right does not make it so.

Christopher goes on to tell us how his concerns about review bombing were put aside as he sees this as some sort of "power for the people". Well the people do not always have good intentions, they do not always behave responsibly, I think he is just trying to justify his change of stance to himself. We see on this site and everywhere people talking up the game they play and talking down any other game, people taking up there preferred type of gameplay and talking down any type of gameplay they do not like.

Christopher said "As a game reviewer and editor here at the site, I believe having good, accurate information out there is extremely important." That is the principle you should hold to not the vagaries of an internet mob.

...true....as long as the subject isn't lootboxes you disagree with, then mob mentality or w/e measures to achieve your goals(the greater good, moral ground, think of the children! or w/e nonsense excuse) are justified.

    Typical hypocrisy.

Indeed not, I pointed that out as it is contentious to me, but I am sure others may have other concerns about the settled will of the gaming industry. (I am not advocating people review bomb anything that has loot boxes, you are trying to misdirect my argument.) Or indeed what should really be concerning players? But as you live in La La Land and think everything in the gaming industry is perfect I doubt you will ever voice such a concern.

...that is the root of your hypocrisy - I have no urge to change something others like.

If people spent money on loot boxes, it is their choice and unlike you, I respect that and won't be calling it 'not all right', rant against them, calling people living in La La La land or w/e.

If warcraft 3 is a 9.2 let's say, then the reforged is at least a -9.2.

The author was really qualifying the term review bombing as this.

"Let me tell you something: I dislike dishonesty. I dislike when people go and review a game they’ve never played just because Joe Schmoe did. "

To which I agree, I would never post a "review score" on a game I've never played, certainly not just to make some sort of social statement.

Very seldom is anyone giving a "1" rating providing an accurate review, but hey, if they did play it and wish to send a message of their displeasure, fine, slag away, but all others need not apply.

Weirdly enough, now the author is saying they are fine with this practice, basically supporting an "ends justify the means" stance which is used far too often as part of a lynch mob mentality.

An opinion is by nature exclusive of other opinions or likes of your own. So when you say "I have no urge to change something others like" what you are saying is 'I have no opinion', because you have nothing you seem to prefer. Respecting another's choice is quite different and does not mean "I will never question your choice". We have posters on here, you are one who do argue that everything is fine, so you see you do have an opinion, you are just masking it behind this idea of "people like something so it must be fine". Well you are one of those people that's why you think it is fine.

Finally I am not a gaming journalist, they need to have higher standards than we do, for my part in as much as I can I aim at the truth, in all this time I have known you I have yet to grasp what it is you are aiming to do on here apart from more similes.

Sad state we live in if a shit product gets a ton of negative reviews for being shit, we have a 'term' for this...

I played WC3 back in the day, all it needed was some graphics improvements, people would have been happy.  When I started to see it being streamed I vomited a little in my throat, it looks horrible, and so does the game play/cut scenes.

Glad to see a shit product got what it deserves.  Review bombed....hahaha

Your just seeing the tip of the iceberg. Too bad people didn’t think the same about their manufacturing sectors.

Manufacturing had/has to automate to compete with with low wages. I wonder how the software industry is going to deal with it.

We never had a choice to have the game's design be uncompromised by lootboxes.

If I go to Gamestop looking for a copy of the latest Call of Duty, I can't select a No Lootboxes edition of the game, because it doesn't exist.

And that is where your choice is a lie.

Also, you of all people don't get to comment on others lol'ing your posts. Hypocrite.

I've been saying for a while that Blizzard needs to separate from Activision. Can't help but think all it would take is a really smart multibillionare (one who knows it would be a huge money making investment) to buy out Blizzard's stock and let the devs do what they're good at.
