This thread has no meaning, only to get people wriled up.

I got the expansion (well half of what was promised, the other half was made into RotW!) Jump To Lagspeed. I went into space and was bitterly disapointed, the radar on the ship was so crap it was as if they'd sat down and said "let's make this as undecypherable as possible". just a side note the video said Pandemic was working on Battlefront 3....Bioware and Pandemic made a partnership recently, and they both have ties to star wars games....Bioware people even asked people to discuss on the forums what they would like to see in a SW mmo...is it just tinfoil thoughts or is it seeming a little less coincidental?
This video is really old, first aired about a year ago. The expansion they were talking about was the Obi expansion. Anyways I think everyone that has played the game recently with the exception of the die hard fanboi's can tell you there is no way there are 250K subscribers. If the poster truely believes this it must be because he is playing 50+ hours a week of this crap game which can probably cause a delusional state.

Because the video isn't pre-cu? How can it be when they talk about Lego Star Wars II (the original wasn't even around Pre-CU), Battlefront II & III. Plus the video clearly says "Last years Revenge of the Sith", so it was done in 2006. You'd have to ask gamer.tv why they included pre-cu stuff in the video.

You could probably nail it down to which publish after a second look. The video in its entirety might be recent, but both you and I know that the ingame footage is certainly not.

Seems like it has more to do with LucasArts, considering it was all their games shown
Even if this was current footage (which it obviously isn't), SOE has said that it's their policy that they do not release numbers of active subscriptions. Like it or not, this number is as fictional as the numbers the "haters" come up with.
I personaly find it hard to believe that they would find that many people willing to waste good bandwidth for the free trial.
Obraik, I'd be interested to know what your best guess at the current size of the SWG playerbase is? Not including people with station passes that don't play SWG, personally I'd put it at somewhere between 20 and 50k.
Also do you honestly think that the SWG DEVS have done a good job and are doing a good job, compared to other MMO companies maintaining games at the moment?
Also do you think that the PS3 will be getting access to the station pass, therefore all/most $OE MMOs currently available for the PC (including SWG)?

Q1. I really couldn't guess, I only play on Chilastra and only ever pop on another server maybe once or twice a year. I can quite confidently say Chilastra is not dying.
Q2. I don't oppose the NGE, but I've never agreed with the short notice that was given between it's announcement and it's push to Live. I think that's where alot of the hostility comes from. It does appear they got the message and publishes are now announced and detailed well ahead of time. I can't compare to other MMO's out there, because I only play SWG
Q3. Honestly? No, I don't think so. The LaunchPad is being made useable on the PS3, which is very different from putting an entire game on the PS3 and not connected to Station Pass
I'd say you should try some other MMOs, mostly to get some idea of how an MMO should be run. The first MMO I really played and got into was SWG, but I was shocked when I realised how bad $OE is compared to all other MMO companies.
Also SWG gets too many patches/updates/publishes for my liking, part of the reason they're always playing catch up to old bugs that never get fixed. They never needed to do so many publishes, and content was fine pre-cu in my opinion (sandbox). But it got way out of hand after publish 8 in my opinion, then the publishes and hotfixes started coming thick and fast, and the bugs came with them and many have stayed.
I think you should give other MMOs a try or have a look at their forums and compare them to SWG, there's a big difference!.

I tried WoW when it was released (pre-ordered infact since everyone in my SWG guild did...). Tried it for 2 weeks and realised that the game wasn't for me. I can't be into two games at once, and I have no reason to leave SWG
Publishes have slowen right down, as a part of the whole listening thing. Publishes happen about every month and a half now, compared to every 2 weeks like it used to be.
Right Obraic. I think it is time to choose which $OE fabrication you believe this time. According to the video they say SGW has 250k subs and it going from strength to strength. It also says they have an expansion coming out.
Now at E3 $OE have told this site there are no plans for an expansion. So which is a lie? one or both?
