I log on this morning and find Delete's thread was closed, looking over the posts I have to ask why? Unless some rule breaking posts where removed it is rather odd.

The fact some of us do not put our cheer leaders outfit on every morning and jump around telling everyone how wonderful modern MMOs are is hopefully not yet against the sites ToS. :)

Why? He was calling others ignorant for having different views of humility.

On the humility he was taking blows himself, it was hardly one sided or offensive. Mind you today offensive can just mean 'one person complained about it'. Maybe there are an excessive amount of threads in that vein, but from all the replies they must be needed.

I don't have a wall to throw text at today so missing it and created this wall instead. :)

There's a lot of unhappy campers in MMORPG gaming, and I have to think that even the happy gamers are feeling a bit threatened by the lack of new games and overall stagnating genre.

So I think maybe things got a little heated, and they deleted and closed it.
That thread was doomed from the start.

I figured it was for going waaaaaaay off topic, but I could be wrong :)

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

It was going way of topic, coming back again and then going of at another tangent, I don't see that as a big issue though, but I would understand if that was a concern.

It was locked because one poster doesn't like my point of view.  It was locked because he found a temporary argument between two of us and used that opportunity to have that thread closed.

Shame on the moderators for closing it, But it's ok because a poster pushed my anger limit to have me reveal my personal information to defend myself.  It was poor judgement on my part, I wasn't seeing clearly at the time.

I'm going through a very spiritual time right now and can't afford the anger. I completely and 100% forgive the poster for the argument because it's what we do here. "it's part of what this site is for, OPINIONS"

    I'm not blameless,
I'm completely convinced mmorpg's are gone.  Companies turned their back on millions THAT ARE NOW GONE and replaced with a different group of followers.  All for better return on investment (money). I shouldn't argue with this different group of followers, that's all on me !!!!!!!... I'm "self inducing my anger" that goes against my spiritually.

I'm leaving this site right now, removing it from favorites. I'm not saying forever, I maybe back.  But nothing will change in the near future.

You already did that a few times, and you never respected it. You're a bit more cautious this time by adding "I maybe back", and that only makes it worse...
That's one of the many reasons why most people don't take you seriously.

If you're really serious about leaving, this time do it. And erase the account so you're sure to not be tempted to come back.

But just saying "I'm leaving but I may be back" is equivalent to saying nothing, it's worthless. And my guess is that you are way too addicted to listening to yourself talking and get some attention for it to leave.

I've already said this delete if you are ill this isn't the place to spend your time. You're squandering what is left of your precious time quarrelling with people on the internet for nothing. I would never use what time I have left like this.

Look for things you enjoy and spend time with your friends and family. Coming here is really not healthy in your current condition. You are bound to get into fights here and this is just going to depress you. There is no value in missing out on doing the important things and time runs out fast.

By all means take a rest from the site, but do come back when you are ready. I live in a country where people in public life have repeatedly said they will leave it if this or that happens and they never do. So no one should feel bound when saying they will leave this site to staying away, but we all need a rest sometimes.

To expand on this, I think the previous thread was closed to take some of the (self inflicted) pressure off Delete, it was clear it wasn’t doing him any good.

To be honest, if you are talking about the thread I think you are talking about, while I have come to love Delets .. Umm.. well.. anyway.. His whole post was really not about MMO's, it was about himself.

And, while no doubt gamers love to talk about themselves, I don't think we need a whole topic for one poster to talk about themselves.

I was the one that flagged it. In the past when he gets into fights he ends up getting banned. He always loses control. Have you forgotten how many times he has lost it and got himself banned?

Pay attention to when I made that request. That it de-escalated and the discussion turned into something else came later.

Well there are football fans who watch football and still think it was better when it was not professional, better before the premiership, better when half your team could not come from anywhere in the world, better when tackles were not so heavily regulated and so on. Just because you think something has been lost does not mean does not mean you throw what you loved in the bin.

For me, there has not been a good MMORPG released since ESO, but I am ever the optimist.

Everyone is entitle to their opinion. To me, ESO is a clusterfuuk and I did play it during alpha/beta and one month when it started and left because it was so bloody boring.

I don't see mmorpgs along a timeline. I see then more like panning for gold. When you pan for gold, mostly you find mud and rocks. But occasionally there is  a nugget. And there is always the potential for, and the dream of,  a nugget. That's what keeps you panning, even when you have nothing but mud and rocks at the moment.

Except you tend to know WHERE to pan for gold so the CHANCE is there.
There has been a growing trend/s in gaming that really paints a definitive picture.Cash shops and we all knew that was going to be a problem but the young generation didn't know any better and just supported it .

More effort goes into thecash shops than the games,Fortnite,Star Citizen etc etc.Kickstarter's,Early Access,LLC's,nobody wants to take on any risk or as little as possible. So there is a sign telling me there is no golden nugget mmorpg coming out for a very long time.

What is making it worse is >>$$$$.

Streamers,YouTubers,Websites, all of them would sell out their own family members to make a buck.So in a sense we are alone in that all the people who COULD make a difference are more worried about lining their own pockets than caring about games.

When is the last time you seen a streamer or you tuber that isn't telling you to hit the like and subscribe and oh yeah i have these other 6-7 media sites you should check out as well.
Game expos are again nothing more than advertising money, there is NOBODY at a gaming expo that cares about the games, they all care about promotion and hype and marketing.

With money being the main reason gaming has gone south,i don't see how this can turnaround, there just seems to be no way.
