Is the original poster's generalization any worse than the standard EVE fan who remarks that anyone who finds EVE boring as all hell is just a little kid incapable of appreciating it ?
EVE is a quality game, wonderfully put together - in play though I find it boring and unchallenging. Those who do like it though are about eh most rapid bashers of all who do not like it of any game community I have seen so I would keep that in mind when tossing criticisms of those critical of EVE.

You should understand that it is generally a very bad idea to post such threads. You may try coming to WoW forums and saying: "Damn that WoW suck becausse I'm bored playing that crap in 5 minutes, I've erased client and cancelled my subscription! Why it is rated so high?". The flame will arise in seconds (if mods are too lazy to delete/lock thread).
OP did not complete the tutorial. Or was not able to read/understand it. Still, he makes a large posts (lacking dots and commas) about his "game experience". Why shouldn't he be bashed? He is too annoying to be treated as a forum pet.
some of you are a little harsh if the guy mastered the autopilot then he wouldnt get the warning your about to have your ass handed to you on a plate message.

If one is smart enough to turn off "avoid low-sec" option in auto-pilot settings, he should be smart enough to check the generated route for nice red dots.
he purchases somthing on the market and sets course with his AP, with the AP on if i recal correctly the warning messages are not shown. There's a small flaw in your logic. If it is irrelevant how he formed it.... then why not quickly form an opinion about the OP and act according to than (negative) opinion?
Again, if someone comes and posts here, it is assumed that he passed the tutorial and read the FAQ. OP post definitely showns he either ignored it OR was not able to understand it. What I think is funny is the fact that someone that couldnt even spell the title to their post correctly got so much attention out of everyone. Personally, I think the best way to handle this kid (I honestly dont think he's over the age of 14) is to just ignore him. He obviosly doesnt have any common sense, he doesnt know what he's talking about, and trying to read that garbled "leet" speak gives me a freaking headace. Its not like we'd be missing anything by just ignoring his posts.

Ok, I have to reply to this. That first statement is patently false.
I've been playing this game for almost 2 years. I came to this game knowing no one. I joined a corp by looking on a recruitment forum and finding a corp that sounded good. I was working with them in a .2 system the 2nd day I played.
When I left that corp I became a member of a the corp I'm still in now (well over a year) just by chatting with people in local and helping other people out. I'm good friends with a guy who I met because he wanted someone to mine with and I helped him! Heck, my current CEO shot at me when I first met him (case of mistaken identity, we laugh about it now), and now I'm his second in command!

Well I fought through the tutorial and... The game ain't so bad. In fact I want to thank the kid that started this post. The first time I tried EVE I got bored after the 2/5 of the tutorial. That was about 3 months ago. After reading this I was like "Damn, so much people hating and loving this game, maybe there is something about it? Maybe i should try it once again?". Well I tried it and now i enjoy every single gatejump in this game. I'm thinking seriously about buying this game and then paying the fees for time to time. I feel like it's even more fun then WoW for me. The music is awsome. It adds to the game A LOT. I'm really glad I gave the game a second shot.

The game can get boring if you don't get into a good corp. I left the noob corp this week after spending a month in there and joined Eve University. Eve University is designed for noobs who have played Eve less than 6 weeks and actually teach classes about different aspects of the game. One note, Eve-Uni is a part of The Big Blue Alliance so you can get into corp wars which you won't get into in the noob corp (Eve-Uni isn't in a war atm). There are other corps that will teach you about the intricacies of the game and getting into a good one makes all the difference in the world.
Originally posted by Wrayeth Would it surprise you to know that a frigate can kill a battleship in EVE? Yep, it's true - I've seen it happen. If a frigate pilot plays his cards right and has a dose of luck, he can take one down.
What Frigate has the firepower to take down what Battleship? Certainly a frigate can assault a Battleship, particularly the missile battelships, but a single frigate hardly has the firepower to actually kill a Battleship. And only a thoroughly practiced Frigate pilot could approach a solid gun BS, lest he be splattered with a single high-caliber shot.
I was able to solo battleships in certain Battlecruisers, and one style of Cruiser.
Sorry, but it's been a while so I don't recall all the names. But the gun cruiser you could heavily armor tank, that looked like a marital aid, could certainly take out a BS with short range blasters. I can't think of any solo Frigate that can strip either shield or armor from a battleship, however. Fleets of frigates are most certainly fun for ganking the occasional solo BS. I have video of several fun group Frigate gankings, in cheap, disposable ships.
You EvE fanbois, on the other hand, need to give the author more credit.
EvE is a gankageddon game. It doesn't matter how many training points you have, you can get taken out in so short a time that you can't even react. What the heck was the name of that guild, "Burn Eden" or something? Those gankers had it down to a science. I had well over 28 million points, and only survived them one time out of five. They rotate damage types, they had it down pat. And that's what Eve is, a bunch of bots and spreadsheet jockies who if they don't get a 3 second kill run away like Monty Python from the killer rabbit.
Lag is so pathetic that anything larger than a gank squad is practically impossible. You get over 40 guys, and you might as well just CTRL-ALT-DEL out and cross your fingers. Your crap will lag to inactivity, the screen won't paint, and all you'll see is the damage until you're podded. No matter how huge your gaming rig is. CCP will not replace ships lost due to server lag, they just give you the boilerplate that "we can't say whether it was your computer or ours" even when it happens to 100 people in the same conflict from seven different countries.
EvE is gate camping, hyena losers who crap their boxers if anything larger than a fleet of shuttles pops through. Cowardly gate ganking pre-teens, with no possibility of anything approaching a reasonable, fair fight. You're either outnumbered 10 to 1, with no possible chance of even getting a shot off, or they run.
Let's not even talk about PvE. That aspect of EvE is so mind-numbingly boring and pathetic it doesn't even bear repeating.
EvE would be a great game, if it wasn't for the people playing it. Especially those pathetic Swede gate ganker guilds.

Several have the firepower, even some Interceptors. The problems are not so much damageoutput or the battleship weapons, but mainly the other fitting of the battleship. So many people fit their (battle)ships in such a horrible way, that it's no wonder they get killed by an otherwise inferior ship.
Originally posted by Carufin I was able to solo battleships in certain Battlecruisers, and one style of Cruiser.
Sounds like that was in PVE.

Its all a matter of the situation, player skill, fitting, dumb luck. Such fights depend on too many factors to really categorize them. But that is the nice thing about EVE. Anything can happen when 2 frigates and a BS meet in a fight.
Originally posted by Carufin You EvE fanbois, on the other hand, need to give the author more credit.
Credit where credit is due, he deserves none, because he whined about half truths and false facts.

I have been playing EVE for 2 and a half years now, and I got killed by a gatecamp once. Yes I lived a lot in 0.0 and lowsec, and yes I travelled there a lot. And with 28 Million skill points you could be expected to know a bit more how to avoid gate camps. Alos knowing the name of the most high profile cruiser in the game. Did you purchase your character off E-Bay? Sounds like it tbh. How about Scouts? Checking the map? Anything?
Originally posted by Carufin EvE is gate camping, hyena losers who crap their boxers if anything larger than a fleet of shuttles pops through. Cowardly gate ganking pre-teens, with no possibility of anything approaching a reasonable, fair fight.
They kill off for the cash, that is what pirates do, and don't expect them to behave fairly. Although that only makes it all the more satisfying when you finally kill them Gate camps are to get rid off, you only need a nice team of people, they don't even have to be very experienced. Pirates usually constantly lose ships, and only those get rich, who do other activities than pirating, the others usually make a minimal existence. Also associating gate campers or pirates with 12 year olds is laughable at best. Actually I know none.
Originally posted by Carufin EvE would be a great game, if it wasn't for the people playing it. Especially those pathetic Swede gate ganker guilds.
The Swedes I know are actually nice people, and putting a national group into a certain category of gamer is pathetic from your side.
The players are partly responsible for the way piracy is done in EVE lately. They cried out because getting killed so easy and it got harder, but also harder for the pirates to make cash, and now the best way to do piracy is by killing everything off at a gate. But to claim that EVE is a game of gankers only is .... well... a bit off. Actually most people are in Empire, mining, researching, producing or mission running. Avoiding gate camps is really easy, but it requires more interest into the game than just set your autopilot to the next waypoint, and hope for the best.

Funny you mention that... one of the best PvPers I can think of (and not just gank squad PvP) is around.... 12 years old. It's a humbling experience for a 23 year old to have to ask him to, "Please turn of your guns, you're almost in hull." It's not the age that is the importance, it is the maturity level. He's a child, but he's not childish.
As for the frigates taking down a battleship. You have to have the right set-up against the completely wrong set-up. Anybody with a webifier or a large NOS will wind up handing your ass to you, BUT on that special occassion where you've got two warp scramblers, 2 small NOS, some named blasters, and all the time in the world, and they don't have anything they can counter you with (ie:: somebody who owns a battleship, but has no clue how to fly it)... that battleship will be yours. Your only problem will be breaking the tank, but... since he didn't bother equipping for PvP... it'll happen. Other than that though, I've tried killing things in my AF. I can tear any cruiser class a new asshole, but above that... it's gonna be a really good, long fight. Though, if it weren't for my CEO's incredible shield tank, I could've taken his Scorpion down. Assualt Frigates put out a really good amount of damage... esspecially with T2 Blasters.
We can agree to disagree, or we can bicker constantly... either way, I'm right.

There are other corps that will teach you about the intricacies of the game and getting into a good one makes all the difference in the world.
Sounds like that was in PVE.
Its all a matter of the situation, player skill, fitting, dumb luck. Such fights depend on too many factors to really categorize them. But that is the nice thing about EVE. Anything can happen when 2 frigates and a BS meet in a fight.
Anything?
They kill off for the cash, that is what pirates do, and don't expect them to behave fairly. Although that only makes it all the more satisfying when you finally kill themGate camps are to get rid off, you only need a nice team of people, they don't even have to be very experienced. Pirates usually constantly lose ships, and only those get rich, who do other activities than pirating, the others usually make a minimal existence. Also associating gate campers or pirates with 12 year olds is laughable at best. Actually I know none.

EVE is a quality game, wonderfully put together - in play though I find it boring and unchallenging. Those who do like it though are about eh most rapid bashers of all who do not like it of any game community I have seen so I would keep that in mind when tossing criticisms of those critical of EVE.
just out of curiousity, how many kids play eve for longer than the trial period? anyone in a corp and hear any child-like voices?
could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

pvp ganking in eve? lots of lag when big pvp going on?
do you realize that you just described pvp in wow?
pve also i think. once you've gone thru a zone once in wow, you've seen all there is to see there.
hmm the more i think about it, the more you're describing pvp/pve in COx and quite a few other games as well.
in the course of full disclosure - you've really just described all the MMOs and MMORPGs out there.
