    Best BR: PU Battlegrounds:
    Biggest Disappointment: New World.
Best Persistent Online Game: GTA Online
Most Anticipated MMO/Persistent World: The one that launches well and is great. :)
Most Improved MMO: Really tricky to gauge, can never judge this one.
Best Indie Game of 2021: Death's Door
Best Role Playing Game of 2021: Solasta: Crown of the Magister
Best MMORPG of 2021 - Player's Choice: Lotro

Not sure how a studio is on the list for Biggest Disappointment, this list is surely for game awards not woke awards. Has Valheim launched, there could be EA's in the mix?

I just don't feel especially strongly about games this year. I do feel like Tales of Arise got snubbed pretty hard and deserved a nomination, but otherwise, it's been a pretty meh year for games.

If a mediocre game like Deathloop is the obvious GotY winner, it really shows just how slow a year it's been.

Edit: Big morning derp moment on my part. Thought this was for TGA. Anyway, here's my picks for the MMORPG.com awards:

    Best BR - Naraka

    Best Persistent - Warframe

    Most Anticipated - LoL MMO

Most Improved MMO - Umm... FFXIV, I guess

    Best Indie - Kena

Best RPG - Tales of Arise

Best MMO - GW2. I mean, I'm going to vote for the one I play, or else it's just disingenuous.

Best BR: Naraka: Bladepoint (I dont really like the genre but like this game)
Biggest Disappointment: Elyon (awful game )
Best Persistent Online Game: Destiny 2
Most Anticipated MMO/Persistent World: Embers Drift
    Most Improved MMO: Albion Online
Best Indie Game of 2021: Valheim
Best Role Playing Game of 2021: Tales of Arise
Best MMORPG of 2021 - Swords of Legends Online
Mostly solid. But it really isn't fair to call D2 the best persistent/ongoing game when the game isn't expanding - it's contracting. It's losing more content than it's getting.

That's new to this industry, and we should be shaming it before it spreads.

If you're talking continued support, then Tibia (or even further, Meridian 59) beats U:O. But You know this is all subjective, right?

    Best MMORPG of 2021 - Player's Choice

    Most Improved MMO

The games you picked for these two categories made me go speechless...

Which part of swtor, bdo or neverwinter improved this year over Albion which had its best update since launch, revamping the whole open world experience and improving all the fucking maps in the game?

And nominating New Genesis which is universality accepted as a fucking disaster and shadowlands for the best mmorpg of 2021... Like really? Book of Travelers, Gw2, Albion, Mortal Online 2 and even New World are better choices compered to those two. And I say this as a person who hates New World.

But You know, there's "other" for You to write, if You'd like, right? No need to go all puffing because the games you'd prefer weren't nominated, regardless if objectively they would be a better fit (they would). It's not a grammy award voting, and your cousing isn't competing i nit either, lol. Sit this one out, please.

How can this even be in the running? Best MMORPG of 2021 - Player's Choice --Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker

Endwalker just released, and half the player base can't even log in. Who knows? But to even have it it as a contender puts your selection process in question. Well that's just IMHO.

I would have tossed ember sword in the most anticipated category, just for representation.. but I get why it's not there.  Maybe next year since alpha won't release till first quarter 2022.

In New world most of the controversial changes lately makes a lot more sense if they had been applied before the game was released.

You could then argue that New World could win the most improved mmo, even with only the few month of updates so far. But its a cheap shot as it is a game with such a low start threshold, that it should stil be in beta. As such it is the clear winner of most disappointing.

Man, these awards are depressing as hell. A site dedicated to massively multiplayer games, yet half the awards are for non-mmos, and the other half include a bunch of games that aren't mmos.

Best BR: N/A - I don't enjoy any of them

    Biggest Disappointment: Crowfall

Best Persistent Online Game: Elite: Dangerous (i didn't like how many of the games in this category were not persistent....)

Most Anticipated MMO/Persistent World: Camelot Unchained

Most Improved MMO: N/A - imo they all get worse with age

Best Indie Game of 2021: N/A - only played valheim and i didn't enjoy it

Best Role Playing Game of 2021: N/A I didn't play a single new RPG this year as I didn't see any that looked worth playing

Best MMORPG of 2021 - Player's Choice: I voted FFXIV, but thats purely based on heresay. No mmo on the market is currently worth my time and money

Currently Playing: WAR RoR - Spitt rr7X Black Orc | Scrotling rr6X Squig Herder | Scabrous rr4X Shaman

It's sad but my vote for biggest disappointment is the same as the best MMO. None of the listed candidates appealed so even though I'm bitching about New World's dev-caused issues (and repeated bugs), it's still the only one I'm regularly playing. For now, at least. Maybe when one of those "most anticipated" games releases, things will change.

Just did the Tales of Arise demo and damn, it looks, plays and feels really solid, I kind of gave up on the series after Vesperia but I’ll probably buy this one next week. The series X runs it quite beautifully at 4k too.

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

Everything about this survey is so ... wrong.

Why isn't New World a choice for best mmo in 2021? It's not like a AAA mmo gets released every year. Also, why not lead with the question "Best mmo of 2021", instead of hiding it right down at the bottom of the list? Why the seemingly random choices for "most improved mmo? Why did you choose to put BR at the top of the list? Why rpgs are not included in best indie game?

I can't see how New World could be in with a shot for best MMO, NW could get that and most improved next year mind you. The order of the list is not that good I agree, but most improved is an important category. I think RPGs should be separate from Indie, do you mean also have a Indie RPG category, not quite sure what the problem is there?

I did not have a vote for all categories because I frankly don't have enough experience with some of the titles.

Voted most disappointing as New World.
Voted most anticipated as Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen.
