New World gets its December update today after a very slight delay. This update is extensive, including the promised end game fixes after community feedback was taken into account and the Winter Convergence Festival.

    I thought all the mergers were done? I did notice announcements on them went quite.

    Btw does anyone know what is converging at the Winter Convergence Festival? Well at least that's a better title than Winter Event. Liked the look of the graphics, but then that's never been an issue in NW.

    Don't you think it would have been wise to hold the patch until servers where all merged or visa versa? The team does sometimes seem to want to take a rod to their own back.

    New perks?

    Almost all of the perks that already exist are broken (yes, they fixed Resilient, but nearly every perk in the game is busted in some way or another)...why not fix those first before adding more?

    These developers make the worst decisions I've ever seen, it's as if they only employ inexperienced interns exclusively and are afraid to hire any legitimate talent.

    Not sure why some people are acting like the mergers went off without a hitch, that couldn't be further from the truth. Players were reporting loss of characters (entirely), loss of data, inability to login, inability to access specific account features, etc....

    A large portion of New World fans seem to lie at an extraordinarily rapid rate.

    I understand wanting to defend a game you like, but being intentionally disingenuous for the sole purpose of deceiving others into believing the game has no problems, when in reality the core systems that the game is structured around are inherently flawed and require a ground up redesign, is both dishonest and inaccurate.

    What a gong show, AGS should do the rest of us a favor and close down. These people aren't interested in creating a quality product for the consumer at all.

    Don't you think it would have been wise to hold the patch until servers where all merged or visa versa? The team does sometimes seem to want to take a rod to their own back.
    They'd be criticized by randos in forums either way.

    At least they let the December update cook in the PTS for two weeks instead of one this time and even had a bug fix patch half way through which didn't happen with the November update.

    The worlds have only been up for 2 hours since the update so we shall see,

    They just posted an update and it looks like the mergers will happen over the next couple of days:

    We are planning to merge worlds in Central Europe, US-East, US-West, and Australia and will be holding downtime to support them. Please see below for the downtimes for each region.

    Central Europe:  Today 5:00 PM
    US East:  Tomorrow 9:00 AM
    US West:  Tomorrow 9:00 AM
    Australia:  Tomorrow 9:00 AM

    Times are in your local timezone.

    We will provide a list of worlds being merged in a future post. We will link the post here once it’s up.

    97K now, keeps climbing as we move to the peak time, say between 2 and 4 PM ET, and as expected.

    Already higher than yesterday.


    Peak always seems to be around noon my time on the West Coast which makes sense since that's 9:00 PM central EU time and that is the biggest region. And weekly peak seems to be on Sundays always.

    I think they'll get a bump up from the Winter Festival, school holidays and server mergers but the downward trend will continue, although that trend has slowed down considerably the past 3 weeks or so.

    What an awesome experience it was seeing my first gleamite "spawn." The quest can be completed without it by going to the one spot that always has a gleamite shard but I'd wait.

    BTW, they act as a shrine location for purposes of teleporting out of them but not into them. At least you couldn't TP to them on the PTR last time I checked.

    118k now on steam. The other site is always lagging a bit behind for real time data. And still increasing.
    And this is a normal week day, I expect more during the week end, not to mention school holidays start in Europe.
