Imagine releasing a review before the NA release. This review is based on other versions of the game then NA.
No, it's based on the NA PTR version of the game, which media had access to for the last month, and included all release content including level 60 characters. Additional content was used as a reference, such as developer interview comments for stances on monetization, and content put out by Amazon or Smilegate, etc.
This is still based on a game that just came out a few hours ago. A private test with only a small number of journalists is not a reliable source for an MMO review. I mean, it is probably mostly accurate, but a big part of an MMO is how it fairs in a community setting.
“Cons: incredibly boring leveling “ biased load of garbage subjective review. I’m done with this idiotic site. Game is godly.
Dumbass haters. Click to move is how Diablo works. Same as LoL and moba games which are top in popularity.
This garbage mmorpg.con site just lost all credibility.

Someone is a little butthurt. If a 1 point difference in score changes your mind and you can't read the review to find out why then you have some other issues to deal with. MMORPG wasn't even the lowest scored review lol.
But to apply a qualifier "Lost Ark sucks because isometric games suck" is not a review; its a biased opinion based on a definitive game design principle and in all honesty, if you hate isometric games why even bother commenting? That's like saying I hated this restaurant because I hate food and they served me food.
Where did I say I don't like isometric games, or point and click games, or is this just a blanket statement? Some of my favorite ARPGs and MMORPGs are point-n-click and/or Isometric games: Runescape, Diablo franchise, Torchlight franchise, Albion Online.
Doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy honestly speaking. (click through quest, 1 hit mobs, goto next quest do the same etc) I'll still take a look though. Might like the equalized PvP. Never know.

It's a headstart, it's easy to guess who the majority of players are at the moment: people who have already been playing Lost Ark through VPN, fans of this type of games, hyped players, etc. A bit of a bias; headstart is never a good time to evaluate a game's broader appeal. Never judge a (Korean) book by its level 10 cover.
Let's give it a week and see how the broad consensus evolves. Even better, let's give it a month and see how the masses like the game as a whole, including the end game and Amazon's performance. Even even better, let's give it 6 months to digest the inevitable monetisation shenanigans and the first broader roll-out of the true 'convenience' items...
I am so excited for this game. This is a great opportunity for devs around the world to really take a look at Lost Ark's systems. And then do the opposite while developing their games.
That's great and I hope everyone enjoys it tbh. Personally from what I've played of it, it's okay. Hopefully it keeps its players 6 months on. Imo that's a bigger mark of success.
"Unfortunately, casual players who want to explore an interesting world or want diverse or more dynamic content will likely be let down. And while Lost Ark is fun, the arduous leveling process and repetitive endgame will likely lead to polarizing opinions about it, with most players either loving or hating their experience in the end."
Considering all the changes made between the beta and this launch, this review really feels out of place... Normally, MMORPG.com does a "review in progress" piece until the reviewer has had time in the actually launched version. This feels somewhat amatuerish in comparison.

This means a hard pass for me.
Which is a lie.
If you are causal, you can explore ( pretty much actually, especially at end game ). The leveling process is OK. Not great, but not as bad as OP is trying to make it.
Repetitive endgame? Dude, it's a MMORPG. What do you expect? Heck, have you played God of War? After the main story ( game completed ), you can still going by doing .. what do you think? Extremely repetitive endgame content, mostly for gear.
I really don't understand what do people expect from endgame. Lost Ark has Dungeons, Raids, Professions, PvP and lots of PvE content. Repetitive endgame is not a problem in games. What matters is how the content plays at the end game and let me tell you that Lost Ark happens to really shine at endgame content.
Yes it's repetitive, at some point, but if one can name me a MMO where there is no repetitive endgame , then i'll go and play that game.
7 is not a bad score. I'm personally give it a 8 or so. What is bad is how the reviewer got to the ..final conclusion.
So , it shouldn't be a hard pass for you, since you can freely play in 2 days. Give it a try. How many ..tries have you give as a gamer? Exactly! One more shouldn't change anything!

It looks like a lot of reviewers released reviews today. They had access to the ptr for a long time.
I think anyone who has ever played an MMORPG at launch knows that the "miracle patch" every game does in launch is never enough to fix fundamental issues with the design.
I've been here a long time and never, not once, have I seen a review that everyone agreed with.
It's so weird how people attack the review like it's a personal attack on them. I thought we moved past that a decade ago.
Lost Ark is the best game ever and whoever disagrees with me should be put to a place full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!
and 2 others.

I don't think this reviewer likes MMOs; endless grind is kinda the point for most. :-/

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.

Besides, 7 is a pretty good score.
