Ironcore Game Studio is set to enter closed beta for their upcoming game Perfect New World. The closed beta will be the first time that players will be able to hop into the game ahead of release later this year.

    Yawn. More generic Asian trash that will nickel and dime you, have uninspired broken engrish dialog, crap quests, sitting in fields grinding down monsters and farming. Cash shops with overpriced cosmetics and the ability to buy power and convenience that will be enough crap that will eventually become so burdening that it will force you to go to the cash shop, or you'll grind endlessly. Probably in the form of a terrible gearing/upgrade system.

    I'm not the biggest fan of navigating collapsing platforms, so it has questionable appeal to me for that alone.

    Got to wonder if they're poking fun at New World with that title even though the "new" is in smaller letters so at a glance it reads like Perfect World.

    Huh, expected nothing but that trailer actually looks good. If the game plays like it seems it does it might be fun for a while even if it is pay to win as hell.

    Sad part is that with how stagnant the current mmorpg scene is, this game will still probably get a few thousand at least for a month or so, unless its Elyon levels of bad and loses most of its playerbase within that month and takes a year to shutdown.

    Odd.  This looks like a strange sequel to Perfect World.  I actually liked part of PW, a tiny, small part.  From the video provided, those things aren't in the new version.  Such as flying; every character class had some sort of unique flying ability.  This seems very focused on ground-based combat; I didn't see any evidence of flying even in the tiniest glimpse of a second of a heavily edited video.

    I expect they will keep some of the things that were the reason I left PW behind -- the daily quests, the limited number of dungeons that you pretty much had to run every day, and overly stingy inventory space that drove cash shop sales.  And the incessant number of cat shops that could pop up anywhere.  Need a rare quest item?  Check the cat shops, occasionally near the spawn point of the very rare spawn that drops it.

    PW was always a pretty game, but it turned out to be more a job than a game.

    If it's free to play what difference does it make? Anyone that feels they can squeeze a bit of entertainment out of anything with no cost may as well rather than not.

    Sounds like every MMORPG that released since 1999 until now. There hasn't been any really unique MMORPGs that I can think of, one that comes to mind is Star Wars Galaxies, but for every unique thing it had, it has 2 flaws to counter it.

    That's a weird comparison. Perfect New World cannot be worse than some of the latest duds, like New World, Lost Ark and ESO. If it manages to be worse than those 3, I will give it my recognition.
