You might want to check the meaning of what ARPG means.

PS: It doesn't mean what you think. Its a genre not a game, as I suspect you will start giving exemple of ARPG games...

    I sometimes want to try out Diablo Immortal just to see what the gameplay and story itself is like, but i stopped myself every time because;

A: I have read the PC version is missing some features only found in the mobile version, and it's kinda buggy.

    and

    B: Because it's Diablo Immoral

    What?

    It's free, like ..really ?

Anyway, Diablo Immortal is, like it or not, a very solid game. Yes, it has P2W elements, but the game play is good.

Also I pretty liked the story too, with their voice overs.

It doesn't have a 4.3 out of 5 score on Google Play for nothing.

Going off the mobile reviews for a game is like going to the BBB for reviews on a local business.

It's dumb, skewed and often times bought off.

Also, just because it's 'free to play' doesn't mean it's a good time investment. If you don't want to support Blizzard's bullshit, then don't even download it - it's a slap to Diablo's memory. FFS they added Deckard Cain to try and hook people, which is a fan favorite character and they KNOW it.

Story was bad. P2W elements aren't just there, they are aggressively there, and the gameplay is subpar at best.

FFuuccckkk Blizzard and anyone who supports this garbage.

Apparently its a troll fest on the forums with blizzard bootlickers reporting anyone who dislikes the game. Temp bans going out all over the place. The censorship is strong there.

I didn't say its a good investment or not. I said that the game is free and he can try it. Playing few hours is not time investment.

I agree that D:I should never happened because of how Mobile Games are in general. Made around monetization, aka P2W.

...still doesn't change the fact that Diablo Immortal is a solid game. Yes yes, you don't like it and many other. I don't really like it too, because of the monetization business, but ...repeat after me : its a solid game!

All you people who trash Diablo Immortal beside P2W which I agree, most of the time you give zero decent reasons as to why D:I sucks.

And I usually don't support Blizzard in the last years because how bad their management and ..games in general are, but .. this time I stand with THE team behind D4 because its a very good game...at least what we could play in the Betas.

Trust me, if D4 will have P2W elements, I will be the first to /quit it, no matter how amazing the game is.

But let's just not hate because..its cool to hate.

I'm hoping the launch events in D4 are low key or work with natural progression so they don't distract or derail the campaign as it's meant to be played.

There really isn't much happening in-game as a launch event other than some silly HC race to 100 for those who enjoy racing... the first 1000 HC level 100s get their names on a statue at the Blizz campus... I can just imagine all the creative and tasteful names on that statue. :)

There's nothing else planned for launch in the game that I'm aware of.

They have external things planned of course like launch parties in Vegas and other cities. That's their main "launch event" focus. It's mostly external and not in-game.

I'll probably try D:I sometime this year just to see how it is.  But everything about it is super lame as far as what was promised and all of the P2W.  I'd rather it didn't use the blizzard name other than "licensed from".  Activision sure has done a great job destroying the Blizzard name.

I just feel bad for some of these other Blizzard games and how they've been treated; this is what popped up when my battlenet client started up.

I know this is pretty much the road Blizzard has taken at this point; for pretty much all of their ip's. We either need to be okey and shake hands with it, or....

Diablo Immortal is such a tragedy. Mostly because the movement, skills, graphics are really good. It plays very nicely and it feels like a Diablo game. Unfortunately you’ll find yourself constantly pestered by the in game shop trying to get you to buy stuff. You can safely ignore it in the beginning, but soon you realize that the base game will never reward you enough materials / gems to become properly equipped…you need the battlepasses and more to have a slight chance of getting the best stuff during the end game.

Such a shame, good game ruined by greed

Yeah. They also changed the eligibility:

But I guess it can still be criticized for being a P2W event because of the 4-day head start for Deluxe and Ultimate edition pre-orders.

There is no ladder or season yet - So not really any big advantage of being "first" - I reckon they'll launch seasons after the summer

    @Eldrach

Blizzard is clearly taking the notes they were probably given when working with mobile developers like NetEase and have learned the darkart of weaponizing fomo for profit.

It's also a dumb idea, about as dumb as that stupid meme limestone 9GAG buried years ago in a remote place in South America.

Only difference between a bunch of offensive/joke-usernames carved into a statue for all to see and the 9GAG statue, is that one of them will be out in the open for people to mock forever.

Unless Blizzard cancels that at the last moment, they do tend to have a habit of canceling stuff.

Stop it already with the non-sense "P2W" because early access. You do not win anything.

The meaning of P2W is that you buy IN GAME POWER with real money, such as currency, items, etc.

Calling 4 days head start P2W because of an event which craves your name on a statue is delusional.

Pay to Win is a term I hate because it can mean so many things to different people. Regardless whether early access is pay to win, I do consider it in sort of a gray area. It isn't an extra fee and anyone playing the game has to buy it, so pay up now if you want in early. Consider 6/1 the actual release date if you will.

People who are going to wait and buy it later anyway don't (or shouldn't) care about a 4 day head start.

In all, I wish perks and fluff weren't used as cheap marketing tools and games were a bit more straight forward. But it in the world of GaaS games this seems pretty mild.

I don't understand why the race HAS to be season 0.  Why not start with season 1 when it launches in a month? that way everyone can participate and you can't pay to start the race early.

I don't think it's a conspiracy theory to say it's to get more people to pay the extra $20.
