    I liked the aesthetics of the original Lords of the Fallen but the combat never really jelled with me.

    Hopefully this one improves that.

    Lords of the Fallen was my first Soulslike game. I absolutely loved the look of the game, but ultimately I couldn't finish it. I just had such a hard time with the combat.

    Keeping my fingers crossed this one is better.

    This is great news and a solid write-up. I love the Souls games, but I too was always a little annoyed by the purposefully time-wasting punishment involved in failure. Sounds like this game may have made that one of the more enjoyable parts - and for games where players are expected to die a lot…that’s a great move. I guess I’ll leave it on my wishlist and, as always, wait for the first patch or two and a sale. If more reviews come in like this, I may just sprint for it regardless - which was worth it for Elden Ring by a long shot.
