New World's first paid expansion, Rise of the Angry Earth, has officially launched today, bringing the next chapter of the Amazon MMO to players.

Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
I'm sure all 500 of them are super pissed. Too bad they don't amount to enough to warrant more than a handful of games.

The expansion is nice, but....i got my first mount, did the MSQ and all but 2 sidequests that were bugged, in 3 or 4 hours. This also leveled me to 65, the new level cap. Did it all in less than 2 hours in PTR, but mob density is still low and i foolishly waited on some of the side quests that were bugged. I need to level my riding skill, but that is just riding from point a to b quests/races, nothing special, extremely boring. I also need to get the other 2 free mounts, but i am guessing that is more of the same. New housing in edengrove is nothing special, but folks seem to like the ranch style straw huts.
Server Ques, holy hell. I almost wish Amazon had server architechs that could help with this ever recurring issue. The influx of 20-30k more players is way to much for any mmo to manage. /sarcasm off
To be fair, i had all quests done before expansion but i noticed a hell of a lot of side quest markers on my map in the old territories. Not sure if these are new lvl 60 quests or revamped sub60 leveling quests.
Most of what we are paying for are attempts to fix issues with the core game. (no more watermark system/focused drops/ ward perks, etc etc) Which is good, and the new zone was nice, just not worth of the title of "expansion" in my opinion. Many will disagree, lol.
The new weapon, flail, is meh for me so far but i have yet to level it up to really have a good opinion of it. Some folks love it. The graphics of some of the attacks are pretty awesome.
I think i am almost done with the "newness" and can soon turn my attention to all the grinding....gathering/refining/crafting/farming and leveling artifacts to max everything out again. Yes, i am OCD. That being said, i am having fun and look forward to playing it through the weekend, if i can get on.
