Obviously no one can read on this forum. Reasoning being is that they keep saying There is pointless and for antisocial people, well if that were the case why would I be in There? I have tried for like what, two years now to show people the light. But it doesn't work, I don't know if I should start using a magic wand, maybe that would work.
What is wrong with my equation?
There x Forum Post = New Members Playing
It's because no one cares...still.
And 2 years?! I thought you weren't obsessed? And you wanna know why you're in There Joel? It's because you're antisocial.

No...no it doesn't. They may say free but it is until you need some Therebucks or w/e they're called. Which cost RL money...wich is as bad as selling gold because it almost REQUIRES you to do it in order to play the game. No...no it doesn't. I just came in here to see the imminent bashing. I see it has already begun.
Joel, did you ever think its possible that some of us here don't like There? Maybe we've tried it and its not for us. Personally I like games that are fun, and I have not found anything fun about There.
Infact I havent found much fun in pretty much every MMORPG because its all the same grinding leveling treadmill rehashed bullshit. The only 2 games that I can really play are Planetside and EVE.

Are you suggesting that MST3K sucks? Because if you are...
If you don't like Joel's post, just don't reply in it and it'll die. The more you reply in here the longer it stays up. He (generally) doesn't spam, and his posts are fairly rare outside of the flame wars.
Yeah, he's a big There fanatic, but as long as he's not spamming or trolling (which he's really not) why bother replying to these threads.

Huh, you act like i'm the bad guy!
If I did it wasn't intentional. He's flaming your posts, we all know that. Guess I just worded it poorly. I'm not a player or fan of There, but I recognize you at least have the right to advertise your game as long as you aren't spamming posts.
Please stop, some people do not care but for those that are There players or potential ones that are in Phillipiness than they care.
Let us stop flaming this person for just talking about an MMORPG
Oh wait, I just thought of one of your posts, you said "There" isn't quite an mmorpg either... So, maybe this should go in Off-topic section since you yourself said it was not an mmorpg.
To make this a somewhat not flaming post: I have neither played There nor Second Life. Can anyone tell me comparison?

See the thing with There is it is hard to call it an MMORPG but yet it is also hard not to call it a MMORPG. Inside There people can actually create and invent mini games and such, which some of those could be considered MMORPG's. So, There itself isn't an MMORPG but There contains MMORPGs. That is not only what There can contain, There can contain anything someone wishes to create, There has limitless possibility. So as you can see There is basically a free form virtual world, you can create and develope anything within it.
Funny thing is I switched from Second Life to There. I spent 9 months in Second Life before later moving to There and I am so happy I made the switch. My main problem with Second Life is the community. You can't go any where without worrying about someone making sexual gestures at you or blowing you up to kingdom come. The second thing is I just hated the way Second Life ran, it literally ran like quick sand. At that time I had a broad band connection, which is what you need to run Second Life because everything is streamed at such extremely high rates which can cause constant crashes if your connection isn't just right.
See, I had to have every graphic setting at the lowest it could go if I wanted to be able to walk a couple meters forward without crashing, but if I had the graphics settings even to a bit above their lowest I would crash. That is because of their streaming technology which is one of the biggest reasons alot of people have trouble in Second Life. You may wonder what graphics have to do with my connection in Second Life, well in Second Life even detail and mesh is streamed, can you believe that? So by the end of those 9 months I was fed up with Second Life's community and the client and the way it ran over all. I could not have a good time and support never even responded to my emails, no one in support did a single thing to help me. All they said was get a better connection, well I can't afford anything above broad band!
So basically the difference between There and Second Life is graphics, customer support, and client speed and stubility. I just naturally made the switch to There because I was treated like I mattered over at There, and I have had only like 1 problem in the whole time i've been in There. I joined around April 2004 and have been a happy Therian ever since, and I think There is simply a better online virtual world. It is my opinion and I have asked Linden Labs to look into the problems I had with Second Life even after I left because I like to visit my friends there now and again but still they don't help. What a Second Life I had!
He comes on here JUST to post about There. And whenever he does it's usually a 5 paragraph long essay explaining what There is. He get's pissed whenever someone says they don't like / care about There. If someone mentions the phrase "Second Life" he goes into a rant on how he used to play it blah blah blah and how it's not for him yada yada yada and how it'll somehow never be as superior as There.
He has also yet to try a REAL MMO. A while back when he made it's annual There post, he said he tried "Adventure Quest" and said that was a real MMO. But then he says the real MMO's aren't as good as There, yet he hasn't even played one.

The thing I don't get is why alot of people say Second Life is a MMORPG but people turn around and say There is a gay antisocial chat room. I've tried Realms of Pengya, a golfing MMORPG. If you'd give me a link to a MMORPG with a small download file size then i'd be happy to try it out as long as it doesn't need my credit card for the trial.
The thing I hate is when you download a file for a MMORPG and then it just launches a thing downloading more stuff, no not patches but the actual client all over again. I don't play alot of MMO's because they have these big huge files and it takes like hours to download them on DSL.
So what if I post about There? It is just as important as WoW ever could be.

Joel, do you own part of the company? Are you paid for advertising? We don't care about that game, like you said it is not a MMORPG. If you look on this site Second Life rating: 7.3 forum's post: 295 There rating: 6.7 forum's post: Yeah that's true, no forums for that game on this site.
So with such a poor rating and no forum, I think it's about time you get a clue. We don't care about that game or why you left the other, we just don't care.

Not really, I just had no more appeal towards it. I had some friends there, but a few things just turned me off.
I didn't like that I had to sub for land. I didn't like that other than actually buying Linden, the only way to make it was via contests, and there was only so much variety in them "Best Red & Black", and "Angels & Demons" themes eventually started to grind on my nerves.
That, and the game started to get too comercialized, and the community turned grimy. There are still spots in that game that I like to go to, that bring me peace. I even had a hell of a time in some places. Hell, I even invented the game of Roller JetBall. But, it just wasn't enough, and once I found something new and interesting (the Discs of Tron game, for example.), it was gone in a week.
I may go back, I may not, but for now, I just don't give a damn.

Second Life's is dead, it has only a few posts. It isn't like it is that busy, it isn't busy at all!
I thought you guys didn't like free form social virtual worlds, so why are you telling me about Second Life? Thats the thing, you guys say one thing and then turn around and do another. I wish you would at least look at There from a different point of view. If you'd just understand the concept and idea of There and the free form activity behind it you'd see it very differently. You'd most likely see it as a pretty neat thing, like I do now. I just having fun being creative and building, I also socialize alot in There too. I go to events, I socialize, I build, and I explore. Yes, There may end up not being your cup of tea, but give it a real fair shot and look at it from another view, see it from a view as if you've never played a single MMORPG before and as if you've never heard of There until now. There is going though changes and new possibilities are arising every day, maybe one day something in There will interest you and I hope you can find that interesting thing in There some day.
