I keep seeing ff14 or 15 or 16½ or ffxxIxxvI
Or what ever its called haha

This game is being the best or most played with over 1 mill player logins each day.
But it states that 50m people plays it..but minus inactive accounts and bots then we are on 1-2 mill real players...lol

I tryed the game 3 times last year and i got to lvl 10 or so, but i was so bored that i could not stay aawake to play it. This game made me pass out on my keyboard. So i dont get it.

I realy want to like this game since it might be a good raid/dungeon game and it looks good on the vidjas that has high level heroes but mann...zzzzzzz..mmmmh  bears....zzzz

Just thinking on FF makes me tired. Also it was like this safty bumper on. So i could not jump over a cliff or drown my self in a sea It was like playing bowling for kids with these safty rails on that makes sure the ball dosent hit the gutter.

Also th egfx looks so dull and dead..like ancient..if it was 1990 it would blow my mind ! but 2024..comeon mann !!!

How do you stay awake in Final fantasy ?
Do you use some kind of shocker gadget ?

Those site probably make up the numbers too.  How the heck do people know Final fantasy 14 have 1 million daily login.

I checked google there are server population but what does the server population even mean?  daily number, monthly, is that per character or per account etc.

And if they really have 1 million players, the steam number is really shity.  Eventhough most people probably dont' play from steam.

But base on most people's guess it is probably the top 2 most popular mmorpg excluding china.

Then there is ESO that either holds 20k players or 440k players....
Steam says 20k ish and other sites shows either 220k or 440 k players log in dayli.

Eso is not a bad mmorpg and i have played it alot but i realy hate that weapon swap and cancel animation casting engine. Also you need to buy or craft food that gives you a buff for 30 min to 1 h and you cant do dungeons without these buffs...If they would change the casting system to have perma 6-12 or more spell slots to be cast with one weapon, then i would jump right back in to the game. I dont get why they make weapon swap...its a stupid mechanic..like have you ever seen heroes in movies make weapon swap in mid combat or do thor suddenly change to a staff to cast more lightning..or do captain america suddenly swap his shield out with a random axe ?

    Its a stupid mechanic...Haiyaaaa !!

There must be a substantial number of players that don't use Steam to play ESO, of which I'm one.  I think I started playing it before it came to Steam.  It was so long ago that I forget.

The best when?  There are so many versions of the same game now.  Vanilla Wow, Classic Wow, Wow retail, I am sure I am missing at least 100 other versions.

This question is really open ended.  Most of the old games have substantially changed since they first started.  Some features are better, but many are actually worse.

New MMO's are garbage and are not even as good as the older MMO's.

So in summary the old MMO's are super old and stale visually, and the new MMO's are worse than the old MMO's used to be.

So currently the entire MMO genre is pretty all much trash right now.

So what you are really asking is what is the most popular best of the worst MMO's.
    Answer = FFXIV

I personally do not like FFXIV as its pretty much a single player game, inside the shell of an MMO.  All you get is cutscenes so you might as well just watch a movie.

    R.I.P mmorpg games

Does that mean this site is also going to die one day ?
Or rebrand its name to Fortnite games

I think you are just spoiled by wow to think mmorpg are actually popular.  The most popular mmorpg in western number is probably still wow.

Not to mention most of wow player is in china or somewhere in asia.  If you  just look at north america or europe the number is probably much smaller.

You can try google "what is the most popular mmorpg reddit".  They probably have much better answer.

And I dont' think any game have that big of number on steam chart.  So maybe it is just your imagination there are actually large concurrent players playing any games at any point in time.

The best MMORPG is the one you enjoy playing most. If you don't enjoy many it may not be a good genre of game for you.

Playing the best isn't what I would do personally. I play what I like and don't really care about the population unless it is so low I cannot even get stuff sold on the AH or group. Otherwise what game I enjoy is the best game as far as I am concerned.

Often a game that is popular isn't want you will like or want to play. Looking at a game and checking out what the game offers is more important than arbitrary measurements like best. Populated games can become a bad experience because resources are often camped and people are everywhere and it is a nuisance. I don't enjoy playing on crowded servers. There are disadvantages to being on a popular game.

I remember back in the days when wow had 12 mill players and was the best mmorg of the crowns.
So how can a puny game that lives on life support be one of the best mmorpg with only 20-30k players...
    This is mind blowing...PUFF !!

    ...

     Yeah..  people can't read statistics.

Wow 12 mil players were subscribers overall. Basicly paying a month. But could actually don't play at all or just 1 h in a month.

Steam lists concurrent players at a a given time.

And we have from ESO 440k player log in daily.

To summaries it. Those 3 numbers could theoretically be all true at the same time.

440k players daily are not logged in 24 h. So it fits that it are 20-30k logged in at any given time. Which could actually be 12 million subscribers in old WoW terms.

And as a side note. Lost Ark got in the beginning over 300k concurrent players peak at steam. Which summarise easlily to a few million players, most probably more than 12 mil wow subscribers.

Even i played it shortly.. but not my cup of tea

Oddly, I installed the game again yesterday because I'm bored and there isn't a game I'm currently inclined to play.  I uninstalled it again today because the game is still low-effort trash.  PLEASE will some company release something worth playing because I'm getting desperate.

How do people even know ESO have 440k daily logon.  All those numbers on other website are unreliable made up estimate.

There is virtual no way anyone would know unless you work for the company, which non of them release data.

The only thing they wouls say is they have 21 million players which probably mean 21 million people created an account before.

I think for GW2 there are at least official financial report to see how much money they are making.  Other mmorpg, the numbers are pretty much in the dark.

Ravendawn looks like the Farmville version of WoW. I mean it looks like they took the crafting from WoW and made a game out of it. Or am I assuming this and I am wrong?

You can use two of the same weapon type if you want, effectively having ten basic and two ultimate abilities for it as you can seamlessly swap between the two at your whim.

Further to that, there are plenty of characters that use more than one type of weapon in fantasy fiction, melee and bows for example, so the system suits that as well.

The superhero genre isn't the best example to use regarding weapon use as such are generally treated as powers in that genre and are part of character rather than something they currently happen to have equipped.

I don't know anything about Farmville so couldn't say. I've played Ravendawn a bit.

It is not focused on crafting, if that is what you think.

    EDIT:

To expand on this, features of Ravendawn include:

    -Player driven economy
    -Political system
    -Open world housing
    -Ocean navigation

There is a fair bit more to it than one may expect going by aesthetics alone.

Characters are built somewhat like those in Archage if I remember my brief play of that game well.

You start off with choosing one ability set of several available, and as you level you make another two choices from those sets to complete your range of potential abilities for your character. There are choices to make in each of those sets so the system allows for a fair bit of ability customization.

Appearance customization is much more limited by default, simply allowing many colour choices for the four that can be assigned outfit. More advanced customization is through purchased cosmetics so far as I can tell.

As others have pointed out: the fundamental concept of what a MMORPG is and what it aspired to be is nearly dead.

Until the core concept is rediscovered, and not reduced to fit within game engine and cross platform limitations, shared product marketing schedules, and other mass appeal corporate-based limitations built on maximum return with minimal investment, the genre is more or less reduced to something not befitting the aspirations of the original designers.

This is the core problem, but the equally destruction derivative is the modern player adaptation to this, where expectations are set when game precedents are made. When you build dumbed down games, you get a dumbed down player. THIS is my main complaint now. I've struggled for years to understand why mmorpgs just aren't fun anymore, even older mmorpgs that, despite changes, align better with their original design goals.

I've had a relatively recent revelation. Why are golden era mmorpgs remembered with such zeal, despite all their inherent design limitations? It's because the human players were more fun to play alongside 20 years ago. Today's players are not fun to play with. Go ahead and name a myriad of reasons for this, it does not matter. I don't like playing even older mmorpgs today, because I find the level of intelligence, maturity, and often simply the minimum required social skills of many players is beneath functional acceptance.

The internet has ruined people, and nearly every annoying person I know either in RL or online, are internet addicted fools who couldn't shape an educated, independent thought if they tried. This is harsh I know, but painfully too common to ignore anymore. People have become parrots, conformists, and distributer/developers market to this bottom of the barrel bracket that we now call mainstream.

Nice referral link. Even if this game didn't look like complete ass, this sort of shit tells me all I need to know about the game and community that plays sneaky link games with them.

If I want scummy referral garbage in my MMO I can get that in games that at least look decent and have content and systems.
