Star Wars: Outlaws Launching August 30th, Will Require Internet To Install | MMORPG.com

Yesterday, Ubisoft officially announced that its upcoming Star Wars: Outlaws will be released later this year on August 30th. Though if you want to enjoy this open-world adventure, you will be required to be connected to the internet.

Sorry unless its on Steam I ain't buying it. I own every star wars game that is currently on Steam. Now a few older ones I own separately because steam wasn't as big or they didn't release on steam earlier on in the disk era. Something like SWTOR would be an example of star wars game that I didn't get through steam. But Ubi can get fucked here. Those prices are laughable, their launcher I despise, and their entire view on the industry and wanting people to not own games I won't contribute to. If they ever add it to steam like they have a few of their games, I might buy it if it's on sale and the reviews are good, but they have no chance other than that.

I'm only going to buy the base game for $79.99 when the season pass is on sale really cheap. I will buy the extra quests then. Don't be fooled to spend 30-40% more just for 2 more quests.

That looks so generic and boring. What are they thinking with these new price tags to access additional content they have already made but decide to gatekeep behind a paywall at LAUNCH? Thats laughable. Ubisoft never ceases to surprise me. I can't imagine anyone getting excited for this ridiculous product. You'd have to be as gullible as those corporate overlords believe us to be lol.

It looks completely by the numbers and safe. $70 doesn't even get you early access. You need to pay $109 to get 3 days early access and the battle pass.

Same here but not for the price, at the two to three year point we can expect all the dlcs to be out and the game to no longer be in early access. I do use the price to indicate it is time to look at a game on my wishlist though, as 50% off indicates you won't be getting any more dlcs. This is a solo player game, I don't need to tell mates I am playing, I can wait.

Was hoping for open world where you can make your own character. So tired of games that force me to play as if I were a movie character. Let me make my own character and do what I want.

i signed up for ubi+ to try skull and bones... ran out of things to do apart from play cargo hauler within a week... cancelled ubi+ in less than a month..

i might re-sign up to try this, and maybe by then S&B will have more to do... guessing this is just assassins creed starwars style..

It's a Ubisoft game. 50% in 6 months, 75% in less than 2 years, subscription services in less than 3 years.

I have no problem playing a man or woman that is a set protagonist. The story however must be good. I like cute stuff like the robot BD-1 in Fallen Order. I am so tickled by these little things. I enjoy good dialogue and loads of options for the way the story might go. JRPGs are absolutely great in that respect.

I am replaying Mass Effect now and really loving it.

Games cater to different types of players so I perfectly understand your point of view.

What??? Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is a 6.7/10 way worse than previous Fallen order being a 7.6/10 (pretty mid), Squadrons was a 5.6/10 ... should I continue?

Star Wars games (as the movies and series) are probably at the lowest point in their history and this game looks so mid I cant believe they trying to scam people with 70$ launch price and even try to sell season passes.

Game will be for 25$ during summer sales (and even then wont be worth it).

Yeah, I was hoping for something along those lines too that would let me squint and mostly forget I'm in a Star Wars game. This looks okay, but has that "star wars movie" feel to it like the Jedi Survivor games. I'm just sick of that. I disagree with Bob Iger that a good portion of fans don't have Marvel and Star Wars fatigue.

If I listened to every reviewer and their skewed opinions especially using a number system, I wouldn’t play any games.

Always best to actually read their reviews and form your own opinion. Or better yet play the games yourself.

Too many people relying on what others think, especially when the only thing they look at is a number.

The only star wars game I am interested in is the KOTOR remake, and I suspect I have a few years before that is on the radar yet. This one lost me at ubisoft.

I am 48 years old and a lifelong diehard Star Wars fan(atic). The game looks amazing but my hatred of Ubisoft and their bastardized monetization policies make me sick and even my love of Star Wars cannot overcome my hatred. Dark side I am (when it comes to Ubisoft).

I'm super-excited for this one, but I'll wait until it's complete...and cheaper. Really disappointing it didn't get a sweet physical CE like the Assassin's Creed games.
