Tarisland Has Launched Globally On PC, iOS and Android Today | MMORPG.com

Tarisland has launched globally, bringing Tencent's fantasy MMO to PC, iOS, and Android.

Looks like a exploitative phone-oriented Chinese game masquerading as something it's not. It has features seen on other mobile cross-platform gacha hits such as level-progress gating, allowing it to both align with Chinese regulators re: daily game time limits and manipulate players into logging in daily in order to form habits. It prevents players from catching up to their friends, unless they slow their own progress down.

Not that you can even join friends at the moment. If the server's full you can't join them, unless you get an invite code from a level 40+ player... which due to the level-progress gating, won't exist for another six days.

I could go on, tl;dr don't be fooled by the smoke and mirrors folks.

Geez the game has grayed out anything beyond 720p for me even though I game on a 1080p screen and can't find a way to force it to go 1080p, even disabling dpi scaling is doing nothing.

Oh for fucks sakes, we have this guy! Go find another game play and enjoy it instead of assuming that folks don't know what the hell they are getting into.

For lots of us anything above 720p is grayed out for some reason.

Yeah, not very impressed. Did not play beta, just went in blind. Only thing i think it really had going for it was the pvp, until my 3rd match that only lasted about 20 seconds. Not sure what happened but 1 guy did something where he was the mvp as there were zero kills. Will wait for the next game, just not sure what that will be......but it is not this cash grab.

Its not too bad but it is very mobile in all the wrong places.

Settings are terrible in that you cant change much. There are no sound settings, very few graphics settings (I have everything set to "movie", no idea if thats good), and you cant change all of your key bindings. Sprint is Left Shift but I want to make it a mouse button, nope.

Also has the typical mobile crap of do anything and collect a dozen rewards from 4 different menus.

It's just one of those Chinese spyware games that makes you do certain things at certain times so you get used of it and want to log in more whether you agree or disagree. Got 20 hours out of it so it lasted longer than some other new releases have and costed me $0.

It's nothing great in reality. Just a time filler for me right now. Not a huge fan of the time gating, never have been. Don't plan to give them even a dollar so for me it isn't a huge waste of anything.

Not really sure I will do anything with a guild but took me a few mins to even find a guild that had english as language. Don't mind non english guilds but it is my first language and prefer it.

I played three of the classes to the point where you do your first dungeon. Can say I didn't enjoy the class (ranger) I was eyeing from the beginning at all. It's dps was low compared to the other I tried by far.

Hell took me forever to figure out you had to buy the blue ladders for exploration from the shop in game with in game currency. People didn't want to answer where you get them from and the first couple times I googled it no vids or pages came up with the answer.

All in all I am sure some will stick with it for the long haul but as soon as I hit raiding as the end game I am done. Couldn't imagine trying to do a raid in this game, and don't enjoy raiding anyway.

It was fun while it lasted, for me it was 40 mins before boredom, bad systems, bland gameplay pushed me back toward the better games installed on my pc.

Well, there always is that one person who somehow has game performance way above what most others are reporting, sometimes claiming to be playing on a "toaster" running Windows XP or some such.

Hmm lol it wasn't meant as shade, I have tried to get into WoW a few times and its supremely boring, the combat is far worse, its super grindy and looks like crapola. I mean not to hate on it but it just kept making me nod off.

Thus my comment.... this tarisland has lots I don't like but it looks good and is pleasant to explore and cost me 0$.
