My Message to my fellow Jedi:

    1) Never unlocked Jedi, didn't give it a real attempt either.
    2) Grinded a few holo's only due to professions that interested me. I did 2 Carbineer and Creature Handler, 3rd holo said Master Ranger, didn't interest me enough.
    3) Bounty Hunter was favorite profession. :P
    4) (crickets)
    5) (more crickets)
    6) (Silence of the Crickets)
    7) Favorite Template: Master Bounty Hunter with 0-0-4-0 Ranger. The 4 in Ranger gave me Player Tracking when the seeker droids got bugged by a Publish or something.
    8) N/A
    9) N/A
    10) Composite Armor, Imagine that :)
    11) I went after lots of Jedi, during that process, I knew which to avoid (my death) and which to go after.
    12) 10-20 Jedi felt my POWER!
    13) N/A
    14) N/A
    15) Favorite shot, was the Buring Health, BH's had, worked great when I baited a Jedi away from water with no buff on Health, but could heal like crazy.
    16) See #15, found a partially buffed Jedi, his buffs were wearing out on Corellia. I had no idea how powerful he was if at all. My plan was to attack Mind (roll eyes) and pull him away from a lake that was near by for a few minutes. Afterwards I hit his Health with the burning shot to cause wounds so his man health would lower. He got wise and headed towards water with Force Run. Hopped on my Swoop and chased him, hopping off when I could to burn him again. He got to the water to put out the fire on his health, but it was too late as I auto-shot his Health to zero to get the Death Blow. He was quite ticked and sent me all sorts of hate-tells, trying to challenge me again, with me laughing all the way back to Coronet.
    17) Message: It's just a game, have fun!

When did you unlock your Jedi? Pre-9, Pre-CU or CU? Unlocked during the "cooldown" period between P9 and P10.
Did you grind Holos? If so, how many did you do? If you unlocked by Holo, what was it? 26 Professions.
What was your favorite non-Jedi profession? Commando and Ranger.
How did unlocking make you feel? Like I had accomplished something.
What was your favorite trial? Ancient Rancor
Where was your trainer? Entertainer trainer in Dearic
What was your favorite Template & why? It's easy after all this time to miss by a few SP's, so please, no flaming, and this is a Post-Pub-9 question. PreCU - MLS, 4003 Defender, 4004 Healer, 4002 Enhancer (I believe), Combat Prowess Master, and the other two lines in another combat related tree
What was the name of your first Saber? 1stGenPole
What was the style, saber color & crystals in your best saber? 4th Gen Double Bladed, all flawless pearls with perfect tunes after spending months camping the KGY
What did you wear? BE modded clothing loaded with CA's
How many BH's came after you? Alot.
How many BH did you kill? How many times did you die? Died 3 times during grind, died once after grind completed.  Died twice PostCU
What did you make your Alt (or your main for the Pre-9's)? Tailor / TKM
If you were Pre-9, what title did you get to? If you were in the FRS, what rank did you get to? Knight, did not fight club
What was your favorite Jedi ability? Two handed phantom 2
What was your favorite memory fo being a Jedi? Using tactics to split superior numbers and take them down one by one.  Making defense stackers cry by switching to one handed saber and wailing on their mind, and having nearly the same amount of innate armor as they did in their composite armor.
My Message to my fellow Jedi: If you came after CU when Jedi was marginalized, you missed out.  If you respec'd to Jedi after the NGE, or chose it as a starter profession, or even completed your grind in CU after xp loss was removed from PvE death, PvP death you never were a real Jedi.

I do have to say I really do feel sorry for all of those who never had or will get to experience what it was like to unlock & play a Jedi. You missed out, and it's not your fault, nor is it fair to you.

I know that many who respec'ed into Jedi wish they could have earned it, and had put a HUGE amount of effort into it. My RL GF was 350k FS XP away from unlocking when the NGE hit, and she tried NGE Jedi. After seeing me play my Jedi and seeingme  play all of my Templates (I tried and almost mastered all the Trees), she was so sad. She had worked so hard just to respec into only a shell of what she knew Jedi had been.

/nod to all of you who were shafted by the NGE...

I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

    In fact, forget the SWG!!!!

Could somebody from the MMORPG Staff pop in here and provide the criteria used in applying a sticky to a thread?  I'm just wondering how/why this particular thread rated a sticky compared to all others.

When did you unlock your Jedi? Pre-9, Pre-CU or CU? I unlocked Jedi on Intrepid pre-cu. October of 04 i think
Did you grind Holos? If so, how many did you do? If you unlocked by Holo, what was it? I grinded 17 master classes before the introduction of the village. Brawler Bio Engineer and Fencer were my holos.
What was your favorite non-Jedi profession? Teras Kasi
How did unlocking make you feel? Frustrated. Mellichae's crystals spawned inside a player house and it took days for the devs to fix it.
What was your favorite trial? Padawan trials we're rather unispired I thought. I enjoyed many of the village quests and thought it was a great and fair way to lead people to jedi.
Where was your trainer? Even a year after canceling I'm still to paranoid to answer this question.
What was your favorite Template & why? Dabler. Master LS 4204 Healer 4004 Enhancer 4004 defender
What was the name of your first Saber? Heartsbane. All my saber's were named after swords in George R. R. Martins Westeros novels
What was the style, saber color & crystals in your best saber? 1h gen 4 ls with three flawless pearls and on premium crystal all 40+ -9. I had some really nice crystals. Usually used the Sunrider's Destiny crystal but sometimes I used a purple one.
What did you wear? Until i finished my template and even after I wore my robe. I had some nice be melee defense clothing that I wore once I was finished. Brown camo's for the most part with the brown hooded robe.
How many BH's came after you? Lots! I was bh baiting from the hour I unlocked padawans.
How many BH did you kill? How many times did you die? Until those fucks took tef and feign death out of the game I was killing 4-10 bh's a day. I think 5 bh's total managed to get the drop on me.
What did you make your Alt (or your main for the Pre-9's)? An Ithorian
If you were Pre-9, what title did you get to? If you were in the FRS, what rank did you get to? Never had a title
What was your favorite Jedi ability? Saber Throw
What was your favorite memory fo being a Jedi? Bh came out after me on dathomir while I had 3 different lairs agro'd on me. As soon as he attacked me I feigned death and the three mobs immediately jumped on him and killed him. I got up an finished off the mob. What fun!
My Message to my fellow Jedi: Good times. Still very sorry for the horrible things those money grubbing toadies at SOE did to such a wonderful game. I will NEVER buy another sony product even if they market a cure for cancer.

Dude. Don't pity me. We don't want your pity. It's that type of attitude that led to the Jedi resentment, never the jealousy most claimed.

MY game was the "Simple tricks and nonsense"... and while I was a minority, I was HARDLY ALONE.

I can blow ANY Jedi out of the sky any day of the week. My Scythe stood toe-to-toe to many a Lightsaber.. and my blasters took down a few as well.  THAT was the game I bought. THAT was the game advertized. THAT was the game I loved.

Hell.. I had Jedi friends. You know who they called to take down the DWB? ME. The Vette? ME.

But babe.. that type of eleitist atitude GOT you Jedi in the state they are in now.

Shayde, while I share your feelings on the matter, I believe MX13 was refferring to the feeling of accomplishment garnered from achieving a set goal and unlocking jedi was one of the bigger accomplishments at one time.  Whether it was Jedi, or the DWB, or whatever it was that used to mean something to each of us, most of us can fondly remember our sense of satisfaction from accomplishing a set goal but the noobs will find it difficult to get the same sense of satisfaction from the game now.  Yes i know someone will come in and say that you can always set and achieve goals but its just not the same when its handed to you on a silver platter.

I hate speaking for him, obviously not too much though :), but that was the way I read it rather than as a declaration that jedi was the end all, be all.   Of course, I could be wrong............/huggles

Shayde, while I respect your opinion here and do believe what you say - for every 1 of you there were 3 people who DID want Jedi but were just too bloody lazy to do the work to unlock one.

So they whined, moaned, bitched and then they whined some more.

That is the reason why Jedi is in the state it is in now.

Your not wrong, but what I was refering to were those who were NGE Jedi. I feel sorry for those who now just click a button istead of unlocking & playing, and that was my point. Besides the fun of the Jedi diversity, it was the feeling of earning the ability to play as a Jedi, just like the feeling of earning anything in the game once felt. The only things that come close to that feeling for me were when I first made MBH (at the time it was VERY rare), soloed the Geo-Cave with my TKM / MS / MF, looted my Exceptional Rifle (now junk  ) & the first time I hunted and killed a Jedi.

Shayde, you're assuming that I'm talking to everyone, but I was only talking to those who wanted Jedi and were never able to "unlock" it. Honestly, I understand were you're coming from. I have many friends who had no interest in becoming Jedi, and for a long time I didn't either. I took my time to become a Jedi, and never ground it out. For me, it was one of the MANY paths I walked, and it is something I am proud of.

This post is not intended to be an elitest statement about how much better Jedi were than all others, it's intended to warm the hearts of those of us who met a challenge we placed in front of ourselves.

There were many other accomplishments in the game I was MUCH prouder of, and I miss them just as much if not more.

This is actually what I was trying to articulate for you.  You did a much better job of it though.....

Well, I'm sory it came off that way to me. MANY have said the same thing, and meant it exactly the way I took it.

I took the same sense of accomplishment doing other things. Hell.. I did a great deal of the Village in helping a friend. Never took more than enhancing Melee and Ranged. MY proudest moment was taking down the Vette. Different goals, same pride in what we did. Getting my YT-1300... My Bellebub.

I don't think that until the nge the PATH to jedi realy changed since the village. If you wanted it, it was there to do. It was as difficult or as easy as you wanted it to be. The friend's Jedi I used for a bit for his lots AFK danced his Jedi XP...stayed alive while his friends completed the quests... not exactly heavy lifting. Just illustrates as I said before, the game was as difficult as you wanted it to be for you. You set your own goals. One friend, make a billion creds... another, hoard NS bracers (he had 11).. Another, hae the best museums in the game. ALL difficult goals that gave them a great sense of accomplishment.

But the attitude that Jedi were the end-all-be-all is what GOT them in the nge position. Dev's thought process: Hell, if YOU loved it so much, everyone will want it! Let's make it easier and everyone will play this game! They tried at first with the CU to make them an alpha class. EVERYONE WANTS THAT! When that didn't stop the bleeding, they thought : NOT easy enough!!! STARTER CLASS!

But if they only kept the Jedi a true acomplishment, and didn't waste all their efforts towards Jedi, they could have made the game MUCH better for everyone.

Didn't mean to derail this thread.. but I took great offense at your original comment.
