But if you have anything positive to say about this mmorpg in the year 2006, then you GOTTA being paid to do so. Now if we were in 1994, this game be would just ok
Sorry buddy, but I'm only getting paid to drive a forklift atm and I actually enjoyed Dark and Light for about 4 or 5 hours today. I just bought it because I had the day off and while it's completely unacceptable as a finished release game, it's all about perspective. I can blow 54 bucks on a game and it doesn't matter, not everyone can. Now as to whether I'll like it tomorrow I can't say, but don't judge everyone by your tastes and then pull out your conspiracy theories. They sure did release it in an unfinished state though lol
I would only recommend this game right now though if you like exploration and have some disposable income and time.
Originally posted by Cholayna I would like them to consider comparing it against the most CURRENT releases and the state of their releases: D&DO Auto Assault RFO All three had near perfect launches. Content was in. Promised Features were in. Stability was there. Heck, everything you count pts in for a release, these most recent releases were damn near perfect. I am not saying that everyone loved them. They all are pretty much niche or poorly thot out but that doesnt mean others dont like playing them. And why? Because its playable, has been playable, dare i say it, since at least its last Beta and the open stress on all the games showed how near perfect the release was going to be. Thats what Farceland and NPFleece needs to get ahold of and educate their shills about. It could very well be the game to end all games but the hard fact is, currently what they released is barely tolerated in a beta any longer (cough Vanguard problems cough). Compare WOW, EQ2, SWG all you want. They released two years ago. In just that short span, the demand has skyrocketed and why? Those games were playable, albeit missing SOME content, a bit buggy, etc but it was FUN to play and it brought tons of ppl who have never experienced mmo's before. I have said it a thousand times and I will say it again. The current and near future mmo players are more sophisticated, more puter savvy than even a year ago. The advancements in the portable games , the playstations, the xboxes alone demand the same overall quality in their games online. More and more people are coming on the internet. Its the same as a TV in every home, so now its the computer. Popularity in mmo's is gaining in almost astounding rate due not only to the world loggin on, the consumer being much more puter savvy, the publicity these games have made but also because of the amazing immersion and playability. Savvy developers know this and understand that. The Devs are the ones in the hot seat, not the player. Some have even started on the dual core technology that will be commonplace in alot of gamers in the near future and wil take a little longer in the average Mr and Mrs Cleaver household but the Devs understand the trend and have already started on the next dual core games. The average player (from a recent survey related on the local tv news) for a mmo is 29yrs+. The devs know and understand this. More and more people are coming to the mmo's. The smart Devs are ready for them. The shucksters will get left in the dust. Its big boy time in the mmo world.Saddle up.

I dont really have a point to make but you have made so many inaccuracies that you need to be corrected
Firstly, RFO is a port from korea so ofcourse its going to be a bugless launch and perfect it was not - as soon as people hit the mid 30s and clock on to pt grinding they unsub. AA is an absolute disaster - people feel so defrauded by the misleading videos and beta invite scam that they lost most of their niche market. Dont even get me started on DDO, the game has 10 levels fgs. Youre actually making me think DnL could have a good chance, I was looking at some screenies and they look amazing like DAoC meets PE. As for the age thing - its game dependant. Eve is disturbing nerdy and for afkers so naturally it suits neglectful fathers and has a much higher average age, since guild wars is free the average age is more likely in the high teens for that, the average age overall is most likely in the low twenties - for it to be 29 you would need many 50 year olds to cancel out the 14 year olds. The rest of what you wrote is a fanboi garbage attempt at thread highjacking.

Whilst bugs in complex systems are common, they are never as prevalent as in Dark and Light. The game simply was not tested and rushed to release.
Customer service from Farlan is non-existant. Many paying users find their emails and forum enquires go unanswered.
The game prides itself on having 40,000km of land to explore... thats 40,000km of nothing. Theres nothing there.
Its not Oblivion online where over that next hill you might find a hidden cave that contains some extraordinary artifact.. over that hill will be an unpopulated random structure surrounded by nothing.
The game deserves no recognition whatsoever. Flyff in its limited way is a far superior product and thats totally free.

Sorry, the RFO release here was a western version. There is a korean version which is one of the highest played games there. What the game entails has nothing to do with the near perfect release. I stated that in the post. But using your own comment, its the same in DNL so will follow the same road......as soon as ppl can get in and actually play in DNL. So far, DNL hasnt matched that. AA is an absolute disaster - people feel so defrauded by the misleading videos and beta invite scam that they lost most of their niche market. The point is not whether or not the game is good, the point is these were near perfect releases and continue in near perfect server stability and very few bugs and great animation. . But using your own comment, DNL has done the same thing and will follow the same road.....as soon as ppl are able to actually get in and stay in without being disgusted that is. Dont even get me started on DDO, the game has 10 levels fgs. Youre actually making me think DnL could have a good chance, I was looking at some screenies and they look amazing like DAoC meets PE. You sure have a bad image of the average gamer. Neglectful parent? Nerdy game? How about features and oh my! FREE!!!! Btw, the study also stated that the majority are single. And you would be quite surprised just how many 29+ and older DO play online games. Bashing any other game out there with any excuse you can is ridiculous. I dont see how discussing the release - when it was brought up in this thread is thread hijacking,. The comps used in defense for this game in this thread do call for other comps to be rallied. Bashing other games without the full expense is not being comparable in your comments at all. Comparing this game to the CURRENT RELEASES is indeed well within the parameters of this thread. I for one do not bow to the lord god DNL. Its too sleazy, too ametuerish in quality for my taste.

Ahh, but the differnce with those games is that they WORKED. You could actually PLAY THEM. Sure we may agree or disagree on playstyle or whether or not you liked the content. But atleast there is CONTENT.
All I can do in DnL is become nauseous by the crappy camera and walk around a big empty world. And that is if I'm lucky enough to keep my system up long enough to take those few steps
Originally posted by pearljam668 Iv seen this game and i like some of the features it says it has, but is this game worth my time and money?
No! Stay away from Dark and Light!!! The company that developed this "game" is about to go bankrupt - DnL won't be online for long. Play something else instead - anything on the market is better than DnL.

Well look here,
If the OP has money to burn, then suggest he literally light in on fire.
Don't suggest that he waste it on this crap.
Giving these assholes more money doesn't help our situation.
There is a reason these companies keep coming out with garbage. Because idiots like you will continue to pay for it.
Or get paid to convince us to pay for it
