Heh, funny thing is that im NOT pissed or angry and I dont even hate D&L. The reason I post such negative comments towards D&L is becuase even after the product was released and its obvious that its dangerously on the border between really bad product and scam product, yet some people STILL post glorious posts about D&L in obvious attemts to advertise utterly worthless product. In the end what it comes down to is fun. I will not be buying Dark and Light yet. I do not play games for their potential. I play games because they are fun now. Fun now, this is the first requirement. If it is fun and it has potential then great. However if I have 50 dollars to spend on a game, and am just buying one game, I will look at the reviews and try to determine which game will provide me with the most fun, based on what people are saying about the game and what aspects I like. Right now there are far more complaints about D&L than positives both on here and on their main forums. You can judge the quality of a game from the percentage of good/bad posts. All games will have haters but a good game will have more good posts than bad. This is not the case here. The risk vs reward of this game is too low.
D&L has great potential but I won't be buying it yet because I want fun first. And part of that fun means at least relatively smooth gameplay.

A modern age example would be of Three-Card-Monty. Its a game played on busy street corners where a guy has a carboard box with three playing cards. The object for you is to pick the right card, for example the Ace of Spades. The dealer moves the cards around rapidly and stops, you pick the right card, you win the bet. The shills in this operation stand around and "win" lots of bets, inticing you to join in.
These days the practice has been corporatzed (sp?). It is now called guerilla marketing. For example, three gorgeous girls are at your favourite bar smoking a new cigarette. The idea being, you being the strapping young lad you are will go up to them and chat them up, and they subliminally sell you this new product.
So instead of the corporations only forcing commercials on you via television, billboards, your favourite sporting event, etc., now you ARE the commercial.
I think I played DnL 5 minutes. My first reaction was the graphics look like Dark Age of Camelot. This is 2006 for god sakes. As for the content I still have to play a bit more but the game is so laggy I didn't even have the opportunity to do anything. I shall wait a bit before I come back for further evaluation.

This is an amazing game! The launch was painful.. A lot of delay. Some bugs. But the developers are some of the nicest I have ever been around. And AD who are paid by Dark and Light do an amazing job on moderating the forums, the irc channel and the game. As well as making great in game events. Man.. The world is amazing. I expect a lot more to come from this game!! I believe in it.. And can definitely recommend this to other players out there. In time.. This will become the biggest MMORPG ever! With 100.000+ players on one server. Playing, interacting and oh my god.. Having so much fun!!
.... well the game has a horrible rating and it is very doubtful its from some people who are just trying to troll the game. people utterly hate this game and i understand why. Blind devotion is a sign of a weak mind and this need you have for DnL to fullfuill your ever wish while at the same time surrendering your free will to it is slightly sick. You might want to get help for that.
I have valid issues with the game well documented and validated by myriad others. You however have fanatical zeal with almost no basis in fact. Your facts are "potential, hope, faith" these arnt facts to anyone but yourself and a few select others.

However, all you talk about faith, hope and the potential DnL has. Have you ever tried other MMOs, or even other games?
If you really want to see how good DnL is, then go try another MMO for a few weeks. Honestly, there are lots of free trials floating around for bigger, established MMOs. Or, go download some game demos. From what I've seen and heard, most game demos have more gameplay/content than DnL. Heck, I still break out the UT2004Demo from time to time...

I'm curious, how many MMOs have you played?
I suspect that for ZtyX it has little to do with the game or how many mmorpgs he has experienced.
It's more about being part of a community for him. He has found a sense of belonging with Vuulaar and the other Farlan people.
After being a part of this community for so many years, I suspect it is difficult for him to come to the realization that he has been betrayed.
