I've been in a number of different guilds. My least favorite guild had a priority list for loot that was based on class and who the guildleader liked best. Being a shadowknight in the day of warrior supremacy, I never got anything. I couldn't get the guild to come help me with anything. And I was, of course, required to show up and help get stuff for the warriors, even if it wrecked factions that I wanted to keep. My favorite guild was one where virtually everyone was an officer, because if you weren't officer material, you weren't invited. We used to have good-natured insult wars via the guild Message of the Day. Nothing was off-topic, there was no guildchat censorship, and it really, really worked for us. We had a grand time, and got more accomplished with the few people we had than anyone could have imagined.

If you like your guild, why do you want to compair. If your happy stick with that.

On guilds in general related to DAoC they are un-needed. This is what makes guilding in DAoC so great, because guilds can be a small set of like mined people than enjoy doing the same game activities. Or can choose to never join a guild and still enjoy 100% of the game content.

In other games guilds become large collection of people that really don't like each other, but tolerate each others crap because if they don't, they won't be able to see the high end game content. It exactly like your workplace.

    Best wishes

The Glove has a point. If your guild tolerates your "BS," no need to worry about what other guilds are doing. Some guilds really do suck, with regard to how people interact. Some don't. If yours doesn't, it's all good.

I think the most important things for guilds is for them to remain small. There is a saying that no two people can agree on pizza toppings. The more people you add, the greater the risk that strafe will be created.

The best guilds I've been in were always small. I've been in a number of large guilds,  just being a number in a crowd it's nearly as enjoyable. Plus there always a constant bout of "guild drama" witch I prefer to witness.

The worst guild I was in, was one where the guild leader didn't log in regularity. We had allot of good members that wanted to do things, but the guild leader wanted to try to lead things remotely. You can win wars when the people making the decisions are near the battle field. This guild tore itself apart after a time. It wasn't fun.

Rather than find a guild you should find a community.  A group of players that play many different games together.  Eventually every person grows tired of what they are playing and look to move to a different game. Why start all over again and have to go through the guild nightmare until you find one you like.  Gaming communities allow you to move to various games and still play with people you know.
