Well to people who say HO is not grinding, you are just phyco.... I don't got that much life to bore off and I rather be bored doing nothing than sleeping waiting for a lvl up. HO is aight, but that much grinding is 10x worse that SRO and I quit SRO at 40, It was my first RPG grinding game so I atleast got to 40.
But my point is HO is in closed beta, normaly closed betas should not have this much grinding, so if its this slow in lvling by the time the final comes out there wont be much people playing the game, and not only that even for an closed beta their servers are very laggy, but from looking at the game I did not expect much and I agree they should have waited a bit longer to improve the game since LOA just came on open beta. I thought this game would have a little hope for no grinding but i was wrong. After I tried it I thought if this game wont be as laggy and not as much grinding it wont be as boring, but hey thats just me ^_^. Nothing against the HO players just what I think.
My take on this is; well if it's pitted up against Silkroad Online, at the very least HO does have a better grasp of what partying is while iSRO COMPLETELY misses the whole partying concept.
The same thing it's got with iSRO is the usual shoddy translation job from its Korean twin and of course quests descriptions depicts different names for maps against what's stated on game's maps.
Interaction with NPCs can be a tad annoying and hopefully Netgame/Mgame can figure out to just do away with 'close-up' after double clicking on a NPC because apparently response time is heavily taxed by that.
Graphically it's a ho-hum venture, but thankfully it's not the real representation of the overall package. Good content may win over good looks IMO...
Could've also had let us test out or tweak with more char customization. If this goes 'gold' without any, it's gonna be a major letdown.
Char stats are OK to me with good versatility to it but skills are somewhat hampered with hiccup-ish cast times. Some AoE skills needs to be rectified as it still sets a single target at cast, and it resembled iSRO where you might need to crank the grinder to farm SPs...not a very good sign...
Transportation (horses) are set with min lvl req of 20 which isn't a very helpful thing. But reports by users that confirmed that horses does not dissappear after dismounts is good.
It's still has a long way to go and we'll see if HO learns from other f2p + online cash shop offerings currently.
This game is straight up gangsta, its al grinding in the beginning but once u reach level 30 and above its alot more fun. the game allows you to do cool stuff if you havent already seen the GM's can fly, get cool mounts, jump on buildings, run on walls, etc. these is what makes the game fun especially if u worked for it and grinded through it to get there. on top of the cool stuff there is also a unique story line that goes along with the game to make it interesting and more enjoyable. I hopes you guys see that. I'm having alot of fun. Why dont u join in on the fun???
Even if it was the best game on the planet, grindings always boring... so in my case I paly to have fun not be bored for a short period of time the get the fun later, its just not worth it, but the HO players that are phyco don't mind but peoplel like me do.
I have never really got to a high level on any game because I usually get bored of games very quickley if they don't have any new features constantly, highest I got is on runescape (I think. But runescape is a rubbish game) where I got to level 39 then quit.
How could you say this game compares to Ares or Silkroad? Are you on crack? It has as much in common with those games as it does bubble bobble. I dont think you gave it a chance. I left Ares for this and I cant remember the last time I was so excited to play a game (well a free MMORPG I should say). Their attention to detail to the martial arts culture is what got me. There was a LOT of lag that first day but I think they installed some new servers and its been running smooth since. Ok, bye.
I quite liked all the different marital arts moves but I wished you could actually decide which you would use like the press arrow keys to make combo moves system in Rakion (www.rakion.com), that wouldn't made the game much more less grinding and much more fun to play
This game is just simple good. I think as us gamers, we complain way to much over dumb stuff. if you look at it from the big picture the game gets increasingly more entertaining but we all think about the present time and we complain. The game is fun, has a good story line, and its FREEEE!!! i enjoy it, if you already havent tried it out, I would suggest you trying it out for yourself and experience HERO ONLINE!!! hehe.
I just recently registered on MMORPG.com, and started taking a look around the upcoming games... Since I've gotten bored of FFXI and WoW. So yeah, upon a friend's recommendation I took a look at HO and hey, it was a refreshing expedition. I guess watching House of Flying Daggers a week or so ago might've contributed, but the whole martial arts feel was interesting.
Not to mention the game's free. FFXI and WoW took a toll on my bling bling bank and it's nice to know I can still play a quality game without paying.
boring hack and slay game got to lvl 31 then its ultra like kill 150k mobs to lvl up everyone in the same lvl has the same gear too no PvP simple questing just another asian grinding game

i agree wiht MiNaAu. This is a free game and for what it offers for the price it can't be beat. Sure this game will not be a million seller or been developed with millions of dollars, but i think it offers fun gameplay.
This game owns ne other f2p game. hehe. what would u play. free mmorpg that offers a fun exciting game, or wow where u have to pay every month for it. I think i would chose hero online. I'm bored, I think im going to go play some hero online hehe.
