Blizzard = Money Grubbing. $25 for realm transfers

Well that's just about it for me and wow I was looking forward to transfering a character to join some friends but at $25 bucks to do it that's retarded. How can that even be justified I can see charging but more than the monthly fee that's fucking lame. Sigh what happened to this game and this company.

aye, i see your point and 25 $ sounds a bit too much to me as well.
But then as pointed out, SOE, the only other company that does char transfers i know of, will charge you 50 $ for it or 75$ if you want your items too....
So 25 do not sounds that bad after all, beside what is stopping you from starting a new char in your friend's server? with their help should not take too long to get up to them.

Just create a new character on the other server. According to this site, it'll only take you a few days to reach 60. ^_^

I can understand crying about a feature you don't like, I can completely get the moaning about the community, I would whole heartedly support a thought out gripe about a direly needed expansion.
BUT FOR ALL THAT IS SACRED AND GOOD how in the hell can you start to even REMOTELY think of bitching about a completely optional FEATURE that you are IN NO WAY AT ALL forced to use, is completely optional to the point where it's primarily geared to those that are to lazy to start a new character OR don't have it in them to lvl to 60 again.
I'm usually up for a good WoW bash that has some sort of miniscule semblence of a thought but you just fail at common sense. Good luck with life.

Why are you still on SOE its obvious that BLizzard with allt he money it rakes in does not put out crap to the amount that SOE does for all of its games all the time
11 updates with what like 3 or 4 new zones in almost 2 years! adn the new expansion i bet will be a full blown 50 bucks!
cmon blizzard can do better, but for the OP 25$ is a good deal on transfers

You guys do realise that $25 is a good price don't you? SWG costs $50 to migrate a character. Besides, migerating a character isnt a common thing that alot of people should be doing. Its a very special thing to be able to migrate a Character, therefore it needs to cost lots of money, otherwise kids will ruin it and migrate 50 times per day.

$25 is a good price. Others are much more expensive.
$25 is a great price.
and it's an amount of money that anyone with a job won't even notice missing.
If it was for free ppl would be swaping server's couple of times a day. It would ruin everything and mybe even crash the servers. It would just suck ass.
So now it's $25... It's not that much if you really like your character but hate the server or want to play with friends on other server. But it is enough to keep the masses from transfering every day.
I think somewhere between $20 -$40 is ideal of most mmorpg character transfers. Otherwise you'll start seeing a lot more ninjas and griefers who simply jump servers once they've pissed too many people off. This way most people will at least think twice about being pricks.
And don't get me wrong, there are still a lot of pricks in this game. . . But at least they thought twice about it

obviously this is for 2 reasons
1: Blizzard wants to make money (!?)
2: its to prevent abuse.
If people were to be able to move characters to any servers they want for free, anytime they want, don't you think it would become a problem?
I don't think it's fair if a person can move a lvl 60 from a PVE server to a PVP server.

As mentioned above, if you don't like the cost DON'T USE THE SERVICE!!!! That freiken simple!!

$25 is expensive, especially since the service will likely be automated. WoW is one of those games that bugs me because I can only ever play with people I meet in the game. Anyone I meet outside of the game is, with roughly 99.5% certainty, on a different server/side. This game pretends to remove that barrier, but doesn't really (I can't switch back and forth between two servers to play with two friends, for example).
