Eve online? You're kidding right?

I can't believe Eve has such a commanding ratings lead over everything. I played Eve and personally thought it was riddled with problems. Besides the flaky economy, poor interface set up and counter intuitive game-play, I found Eve to be flat out boring. I would spend hours traveling around and then get demolished by someone showing off their guns. The few meaningful fun experiences I had were very far between, most of the time, I found myself just staring at the screen... or reading magazines.
What gives? Is there a huge Eve fanbase associated with this site for some reason? Or are all the other MMORPGs on the market that bad?

The Eve community had a campaign to inflate their score here at this site. It's not really "this community" as much as it was "their community".
You gotta understand, everyone likes different types of MMO's. Some people even like star wars galaxies. Anyways the fact of the matter it that at this time many fans need something to take up their time. Upcoming MMO's look to be promising and rabid players need something to occupy their time with. I do agree that EVE online is not the greatest game ever...heck its not even close. But at the moment it is the best game to play. Where is the other competition if it can beat all the other games by the spread of a point in the polls.
Right now it is in the lead but just wait till mid summer early fall when a highly anticipated MMO comes out. Then EVE will be left in the dust. The starting lineup looks to be promising.
1. Lineage II.
2. WOW
3. Ultimate X: Odyssey
4. Everquest II
You guessed it everquest II is batting cleanup as this is the game to look for. Lineage 2 leads off because I see it kicking off before EQ2 and being Highly anticipated W0W comes 2 in the order. Ultimate X is a throw in but EQ 2 will be the MMO of the year whatever year it happens to come out. LOL
