the op could have put it in a more constructive way and leave out the 10 year old part, but he's right. the game will be full of people murdering every person they see. its how the developers designed the game. they focus too much on pvp.

oh right, if your game doesn't turn into a battlefields then your a carebear. sure boy, if playing pvp in an mmorpg makes you feel good, knock yourself out. oh for your information, UO and EVE weren't fully focused on pvp, like Darkfall will be. UO and EVE could avoid turning the entire game into just some fps like battlefield, something darkfall won't be able to because its too heavy based on pvp.

Actually yeah, there will be ALOT of fighting going on (random racial run ins, city conquest, huge wars, seawarfare, mounted combat, tournaments, hired mercenaries, assassinations, etc etc.), but just as much as exploring the world, questing, scouting. And of course alot of crafting, trading, politics, intrigues. The game was created to let players play the game any damn way they want, and thats exactly what they will do.

If you don't like it, or maybe you prefer linear gameplay, I suggest you pick up a singleplayer rpg game (Dungeon Siege, etc.) or if you have a short attention span you could pick up a dumbed down mmorpg like i.e. WOW, which will let you level up and after 15 days when you are L60, you can look forward to a lot of fun doing the same pve/item grind over and over and over and over and over....

Hey! You're right! Thats exactly how the game is gonna be for the first week of beta! And most likely the first week of release!

And if you dont understand why it'll only be like that for the first week or so (there are 3 reasons.. maybe more), then you dont have the knowledge to warrent your comment on the subject any weight.

Good job, now shut up because youve never played Shadowbane or pre-trammel UO or Asheron's Call: Dark Tide server which provide very similar pvp rulesets, and thus you could never know how a pvp game like this can work. Everything you've said has been proven wrong in the past.

no, it wont turn to a freakin battlefield. There will be allies and enemies, clans joining up to beat a stronger clan, clans creating their own 24/7 "safe"-zones (such as clan cities) by using strict clan rules and with the help of NPC guards (meaning if you kill someone there, its your ass). People just cant afford to KOS everyone, because of full loot, you need stuff all the time so you need allies. And if you take the habit of killing your own race, you will be an outcast and KOS to every NPC guard in the area, that means you will die a lot.

People should, i dont know, read stuff before they write shit?

The intention of the Darkfall team is not to make some mmo that can easily mastered by every preteen noob, therefore filling there servers with tons of people ie WoW. This game isnt created to appeal to everyone but rather those hardcore of the real pvp mmos over the last several years. And in response to the original post specifically: the skill required to play this game will pretty much eliminate anyone under the age of 15.

This and your previous posts prove you dont know shit about Darkfall. The devs have said it themselves about a thousand times that if you plan to solo in Darkfall you either have to move to some remote location or be a crafter of some sort. Either that or youre in for a hard ride. Theres no way you can succesfully solo against whole clans, that should be obvious. Clans will wtfpwn any soloer that lurks around their lands.
Number one way to get equipment will be through crafting and killing mobs, or if you are in a strong/skillful clan then yes, through Pk.

And claiming that because game has twitch based combat, it also MUST have boring pve just proves how fucking clueless you truly are.

Gameloading you dont have a clue. Apparently you haven't taken half a look at this game because the AI in Darkfall is more advanced than any game in creation or even in development. In Darkfall even the npcs develop their own camps, forts and even small cities based on coincidental contact of certain types of mobs. The items dropped become better as larger groups develop and the location mobs spawn changes as they are defeated in certain areas. This causes all types of npcs to migrate to where the other mobs and players are least common. Find another game to roast, assclown.

I have to agree with Paade here, you have no idea what you are talking about. You link a video of darkfall and say it must have bad PvE because D&DO has bad PvE also?

What has L2 to do with DF? That game has completely different game settings, again you make assumtions that have absolutely no meaning whatsoever.
This is a game in development, so saying that what developers say doesn't matter is ridecolous, unless you have experiences of your own about DF. Which you don't.

Like Paade said, you are clueless.

Wow, I had no idea you darkfall fanboys are so touchy when it comes to Darkfall, not to mention ignorant, you guys are so easily fooled by
pretty words, that you guys forget the actual facts.

Previous games with much more money to spend, very talented developers,
and hype failed, but this game, with about 20 developers in greece, a
company that have never made an mmorpg before together,that don't even
have HALF the funds SOE and Blizzard put in their games, is going to be
the new revolution in AI, pvp and more

Dullahan: Have you actually seen those things? No you don't, you only
heard those from a developer. I am willing to make a bet with you right
here and now that you won't find that feature as deep as you believe it
is. what will happen, is that houses will be generated randomly, thats
all. this small company really won't make a revolution in AI, they
don't have the manpower nor the funds. believing they do is only
foolish and ignorant, and proves that you have no experience with other
low budget titles, or you just didn't learn from them.

Busdriver: why I said that the PVE will be the same as D&DO? because I played D&DO, and the game plays the exact same way as is shown in the darkfall video. instead of drooling over a few words of developers, you should look what those developers have actually shown us. what L2 has to do with DF? According to a previous poster, DF will for a big part be about clan pvp. he thinks the game will force everybody to be in a clan. who knows, maybe the game will TRY that, but not everybody will be in a clan. why I named Lineage 2, is because Lineage 2 is ALSO focused on Clan based pvp, just as much as darkfall is (well a little less, PVE is more important in L2 because they didn't ruin it, or not as bad as Darkfall will) and far from everybody is in a clan in Lineage 2.

now, this will be my last post here for now, as I have no intension of creating some sort of flame war. I always thought that Darkfall fans would be more open for other people's opinions, as most of them are UO fans and would behave more mature, but I geuss I was wrong. if you don't think Darkfall will be the holy grail, then your suddenly clueless and have no idea what your talking about.
I rest my case, I hope you will have a lot of fun with Darkfall, and that you won't be too dissapointed with the result. your free ofcourse to comment on my post, but I won't read it. Seriously though, saying everyone will be running around killing everyone in a gankfest is what the blockbuster clone MMORPG's want you to think. They want you to think you can't have fun in a PvP MMORPG because PvP is "unfun." That's bullshit. Don't listen to the dumb ass execs who haven't played a PvP game in their entire life. They want to control what you think and how you experience a game and the only way to do that is to replicate your environment so you're a hamster in a mouse wheel with a carrot stick in front of you. The fact is the best opponent is another human. Computer A.I. just doesn't cut it. If you want to experience the thrill of sailing your ship on the ocean and seeing another ship on the distant horizon and thinking... "Who are they? Friend or foe? Should I run or fight?" Then play Darkfall. If you don't, then don't play Darkfall. If you want the thrill of charging a line of Orks (played by real people) while riding your mount, then play Darkfall. If you don't want to engage other players in combat in Darkfall, pick up some crafting skills and make your own boats, houses, wagons, weapons, and armor. Then run every time you see an emeny coming for you. Sell your merchandise, become rich, and hire mercenaries to avenge you.

The main difference in Darkfall is that the developers aren't half as interested in money as they are in making a good game that suits them and a smaller playerbase who know real pvp has been lacking in an MMO. They have spent twice as long as the above named mega corps in creating their game and open beta hasn't even begun. As far as talent is concerned.. you, most factually, don't know your proggin ass from a whole in your motherboard. CLEARLY these developers possess both more appreciation for players and ability than other game co when they have not only created these numerous works as the above mentioned AI of which you scoff but numerous other feats of technology including systems of hack detection and bringing mass numbers to a single server, the likes of which have never been dreamt of by your beloved SOE and Blizzard. Thats why both of their games are hacked inside and out. They dont give a damn about you.. just your money. They dont care about real content... thats why their games are almost totally autogenerated. Just because someone else has taken the time to make a quality game which has already shown up on the mega game companies you love doesn't mean it isnt going to happen. It aint a dream baby. Now log in and get pwned, carebear.

may i ask... do you know this is true? is it your own opinion about these devs, or are you taking a guess, that they do care for you and the game and not the money.

sounds like you wished so hard this was true, that you started to really beleive your own fantasy..

for the record.. Darkfall looks like a very nice game and i will prolly give it a try....

Wow u must be a developer i mean since u have such a great knowledge in making PvP oriented mmorpgs

There is only 1 mmorpg that tried to do this Shadowbane, they screwed it for other reasons not the ones u guys are pointing
