Guild Wars has no fee. They seem to be doing pretty well. There will be a cap on how much money you can but in at a time, so it won't be out of hand... Plus most people won't want to spend hard earned real life money on a game. You'll find very few people willing to spend $100+ a month on a MMO.
Yes July 1st is for Pre-order only. The rest of us sorry saps will have to wait until the 14th.
I am still waiting to hear what the cap is. The game is about to release and still no limit has been announced.
You must be joking about people not wanting to spend money on MMOGs to gain an advantage. There is a thriving multimillion dollar business which proves you are wrong. Get ready to open up that wallet wide unless you are content falling behind everyone else who will be buying their villas and armies.
Why do people OBSESS over a game that hasn't come out yet and have no intention to play? i don't get it.
if you're watching TV and something is on that you don't like, do you sit there and watch so you can rip on anything you don't like? No, you change the channel.

I didn't say everyone wouldn't buy lots of gold, just that the WoW fanboys won't be coming to this game. RV isn't Instant Gratifacation. It's somthing you have to work at for a bit, but once you do it's greatly satisfying.
You've got your right to be cynical, but just think of it this way, most of the people(not all!) who would pour a lot of money into this game are turned off by the graphics.
I too remember reading from RB that the graphics were turned down for testing but will be back on for final release. Well it's all good and fine if it's beta testing, but when it goes LIVE and our wallets open it's a whole different story and they had better back up what they say or they are in for a rude surprise of cancellations and the game going down the same path as DnL.
Redbelham tell the truth about the graphics please.

No monthly fee =no cancellation hehe.Once u buy the software you have account for life(well life as how long RV runs).

Even worse. There are already bad seeds in a majority of the playerbase that was looking forward to this game. By not having a monthly fee doesn't make it more appealing. I would rather pay $15-20/mo for a game and have it have all the qualities of what a successful MMO should have and has had in the past.
Basically you pay $40-60 for the game, no monthly fee, no cancellations or anything and no refunds of the game. It's like a hit-and-run. Not good business IMO.
I bet we won't have to wait too long before the client is free. I really don't think there are a lot of people counting the days until they can buy the game. Sure there may be a few hundred... but i don't think they are going to find enough people willing to pay the initial buy in to make the VERM system work. I really think the only way to get people in the game, so they can start buying currency, is to lure them in with the possibility of totally free pay. They have to be honest with themselves and look at what they have to offer compared to other "free" games.
Well bye bye RV another vaporware released this game is crap but with a big C
THere is basic features missing stupid things like SITTING, u cant sit, or Walking, also chars look like they are floating
There is so many things missing, the graphics are crap.... overall they could have waited other 6 months and release a much better game but no... they released another vaporware
And like somebody said eventually they are going to give the game free because they will realize ppl is not stupid to pay money for this so called "mmorpg"
The game got like 10% of the features they promised it is like a freaking alpha
And i waited some days read lots of reviews and came to this conclussion

Good to know you didn't even play the game before you made such bold statatements. No, you can't sit. Somehow, a inner part of me just died. Why do you want to sit anyway? Of course, it should be implemented; it'd be good if it was implemented. But it was a detail, quite less important than other features. And now you can't walk? Hah.
And your other argument is that "the graphics are crap". I'm going to ask you something: why do some people still play UO?
Originally posted by Salvatoris If the best argument you can make, is to compare the graphics to a game 10 years older... that says a lot
Not at all. If that game is 10 years old and is STILL being played, well... *that* says a lot. I am not comparing RV's graphics to UO's graphics. RV's are way way way better. They are better than most of you people who post here would know. I guess we'll see that once movies & screenshots start to be posted more (hopefully after release). So that you have an idea, I posted a link to actual screenshots of the game, and I was told that they had to have been edited, because RV's graphics weren't that good. "WTF" anyone?
Anyway, I am not defending the fact that RV's graphics are great. Hell, they aren't even "good". Are they good enough? Yeah. Are they bearable? Yeah. Would we, to enjoy more of the game, need better graphics? *IN MY OPINION* No. Are they "crappy beyond comprehension and the game is going to fail because of that and the dev team is a bunch of indies making a game with no budjet because the graphics suck and the game is hurting the MMO genre and everyone run away"? ... WTF :P
I mentioned UO simply to state the undeniable fact that graphics do not make a game. Fact. There is a whole lot more to games than graphics, and to attack RV simply based on that is simply foolish.
1,500 people bought pre-order cd keys. Many people cryied out when they were gone. Many more people have joined the community since. i would expect at least 2,000 more people waiting for the game.
Anyone that bought a pre-order has been playing for a week now. I really don't think there are a ton of people waiting for the 14th, or the 16th or whatever..
Show of hands? Who here will be buying the game next week when it is available?

Sure. No biggy. I just saved three times that from not going to the pub to watch the world cup. Damn Italy. Ahh well. Can't win 'em all. The crits on this game are nothing as chortling as they were worthy in the DnL forum. Look for some funny reads. Calmed down now there a little though. Early days and small dev companies need big hugs from rich folks.
There's nothing else like this. It could have even worse graphics and UI and I'd buy it.
I want wide open PvP with consequences. I've seen what that's like in EvE and I like it. I like the community it fosters and the excitement of never knowing who you can trust and of how reputation will matter in this game.
If they said they weren't improving a thing I'd probably still buy it, it's way cheaper than anything out there, and it has the features I want, even if not everything I want.
Darkfall has everything I want, but Darkfall will probably never come out.
yes I will be waiting on the 16th at 18:00 GMT to get my copy of the game! I have played to many dumbed down MMO's as of late and look forward to this new simulation.
to many games come out that are so thin and have no meat on thier bones... I'm excited to be a part of a game with multiple skills and interests even if the graphics are not the best at first ill be happy to pay just under $40 USD to get this game and play in a sand box MMO again... the borring quest after quest after quest trend has driven me mad I prefer to roleplay and do what I want to do not what i have to do to compleate a quest so i can just goto the next quest in a never ending line of quests.....
